Wonderful! Well maintained villa, with very nice view and convenient location

September 2022 - Wonderful, very nice view of the lake from most of room. The villa is well maintained. The covered pool is very convenient on fresher day. We enjoyed everything.

Cleaning service every day. Daniela [the property manager] is very kind and helpful.

It is the 3rd time we book with Summer In Italy and everywhere we went were just as describe and more, and the service and follow up really excellent and so helpful to prepare our vacations.

Travel tips

  • Well located, 15 minutes from Menaggio, 5 minutes from Dongo.
  • Just open the gate to the lake and there is a walkway of about 2 km on each side, left and right. There are small beaches all along the walkway, and also benches to relax.
  • 5 minutes away on the left side walkway, there is a little marina to rent small boat, bar with pastries for breakfast, also lunch and dinner, and music group on week-end evening.
  • 5 minutes away on the right side of the walkway there is the ferry, restaurants, very convenient location.

We absolutely loved our stay there

August 2019 - We absolutely loved our stay there. It was very well equipped to accommodate 12 people comfortably, giving everyone enough space to themselves as well as the ability to come together (e. g., family dinners -- indoors and outdoors, couches in the living room, outdoors...).

The outdoor space out back and the view of the mountains was fabulous, including the views from the upstairs balcony and lake-facing bedroom windows. Those views, which were ever-changing with the weather, clouds, and time of day, are imprinted in our visual memory. Just gorgeous. Loved the outdoor swimming pool too, including the sliding cover allowing us to swim even when raining. And the ping pong table was a great addition for rainy days too. Overall, it felt very comfortable there.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The day we arrived there was a beautiful dinner prepared for us so we didn't have to worry about shopping or going out. This was immensely appreciated and welcoming -- and delicious. We appreciated Daniela's [the manager] overall accessibility and her stopping by on a daily basis to make sure everything was okay.

We booked this house because it could accommodate 12 people and from the online listing, it looked beautiful with beautiful views. And we were right! We appreciated Summer In Italy's newsletters. They were friendly, light-hearted, and helpful.

Travel tips

  • We appreciated the accessibility to markets in town, restaurants on the walkway along the lake, and nearby hiking trails.
  • The pizza restaurant a few steps down the lake was very convenient on days when we didn't get to the market or didn't want to cook. The food was good and inexpensive.
  • And don't miss the gelato next door!
  • Renting a motor boat was a great way to see the entire lake and other towns. Docking at other towns, however, was not entirely accessible, or at least we couldn't figure it out.
  • There were maps along the lake that showed hiking trails nearby. We highly recommend those!
  • Menaggio was a nice town nearby for shopping and walking around. And car-free Varenna was another town that was quite special. You need to take a boat to get there.
  • Be aware the roads in Como are narrow and curvy, and the long driveway down to the house is extremely steep and narrow.
