Yes, we enjoyed our stay very much!

August 2018 - Yes, we enjoyed our stay very much! The host was very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was, as always, excellent.

You have more detail on your web site than other places... Making our choice easier. We have used you before and know you to be reliable and friendly.

Travel tips

  • View the crypt in San Baronto church.
  • Isabella at tourist information is an excellent source of knowledge.
  • The bar enoteca L’Indicatore is the best for coffee and cake.
  • Great views from the pool, across the valley.

September 2014 - We thought Villa Floriana B was excellent.

The terrace was amazing and we were thrilled when we first walked into the apartment to find how modern and clean it was.

What made our stay however was the fantastic welcome we received from the apartment manager. She could not have been more charming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her.

We would certainly recommend this accommodation and Summer In Italy.

It is the first time we have used Summer In Italy and we would definitely check your website before any other. Thank you.

Fantastic

July 2014 - We had the absolute pleasure of being guests of Villa Floriana B for nearly three weeks.

The view from our terrace was breathtaking and we could not believe how handy everything was. Just a few steps from our front door there were deli, restaurants and bars.

We would recommend Villa Floriana B to everyone and would definitely go back.

The two lovely ladies who welcomed us, Sofia and Maria, did everything they could to make our visit memorable. Keep doing what you are doing!

Luca, you made everything so easy and we would book through Summer In Italy again for our next visit in Italy. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • A car is necessary if you want to travel further afield.
  • There are some walking trails for those who are fit and capable.
  • Shop locally and get to know the locals, they are delightful. We loved our daily visit to “our local bar” for a chat and drinks.

June 2014 - We loved every minute of our stay at Villa Floriana B.

After a number of day trips, it was wonderful to return for a swim in the pool looking over the Tuscan hillside views and stroll to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

After meeting up with family in Florence, we picked up our rental car and headed west to San Baronto. We called the owner of Villa Floriana B as we left Florence to let her know we would be arriving in approximately an hour. The drive from Pistoia is easy, but has many curves as you climb to the top. Beware the cyclists, this area is popular for cyclists, which was exciting for us since we were planning on doing some of our own. When we arrived at Villa Floriana B we were greeted by Sophia [the caretaker] who is molto gentile. She showed us our apartment, which had beautiful views looking over the hills, valley, and mountains in the distance. Sophia was kind enough to show us other apartments for future consideration. Each one was clean and spacious. It would be important to specify your preference with a view.

Hope to return to San Baronto in the future.

Travel tips

  • There were three main restaurants in the area, all within a short walk from Villa Floriana.
  • Groceries can be purchased at the Coop grocery store in Lamporecchio, and you can also get basic supplies at the store around the corner, although more expensive.
  • Villa Floriana is somewhat isolated, but 1.5 hours to Siena / Chianti region and 45 minutes to Pisa.
  • We had communicated with the owner regarding our interest in taking a cooking class. Maria [the owner] set us up for a half day class with Teresa at Agriturismo Il Poderino. This was such an informative and fun experience, made memorable by Teresa & her husband.
  • Although the drive up to San Baronto is winding, the roads were in great shape.
  • As a driver, be confident in handling a manual on uphill climbs.
  • If you are a cyclist, this is a great place to ride from.
  • Parking is very easy and secure. We want to commend the young waiter at Pizzeria Vittorio, he was always considerate and efficient.
  • “San Baronto bella vista e soggiorno rilassante”.

August 2012 - Would highly recommend Villa Floriana B. We loved it and the staff went above and beyond, so helpful.

Wonderful view from our terrace and everything was so clean. The kitchen was big enough to cook in. The pool was also very nice we went for a swim everyday.

All in all we where very happy with the villa. Also air conditioning was a great factor and the price was reasonable.

Loved our Summer in Italy vacation.

Travel tips

  • Town of San Baronto had enough shops to buy most groceries.
  • Car is not needed, we used the bus to travel to bigger towns to catch the the train for day trips. The bus schedule was every hour so we had to plan out our travel days carefully.

August 2012 - Wonderful views from every room and terrace for perfect relaxation, especially good sandwiched between visits to Pisa and Florence.

Immaculately clean. Kitchen could do with a few more utensils. Staff in the apartment block are lovely.

Travel tips

  • all the local restaurants are outstanding and no more than a few steps away!
  • Go to Viareggio for wonderful day on beach and if you're there in summer go to Puccini festival, opera by the lake - magical.

August 2011 - I loved this villa! It was even better than I expected.

The balcony was huge and had the most amazing views. Loved sitting out in the evening staring down the valley at the lights of Tuscany. The whole place had a lovely ambiance and the furnishings through the complex were beautiful. Well laid out for privacy.

Marco on reception was marvelous! I had not planned holiday well and had a few hiccups along the way. Marco went out of his way to help me. A huge thank you!

Would definitely recommend this villa to other guests! Go, relax and enjoy.

Great service, thanks for answering all my questions which were not just about the villa, would recommend your service.

Travel tips

  • Would not recommend going out without a car, too hard to get around. Although it's possible, local transport is probably not designed for tourists and is not as regular as you would need it to be.
  • Make sure you wander down to local cafe in the morning for divine hot fresh pastries and coffee!
  • Lovely restaurant with great views across the road from the cafe (can't remember the name but only restaurant on that side of the road - overhanging valley), great food, with friendly and helpful service despite my complete lack of Italian.
  • Explore the area, past the church is a road off to a camping ground. The food at the restaurant there was wonderful as well. Wish I had explored the area more!

July 2011 - Had a great time staying at the Floriana B. Very well situated (close to Florence and Pisa). The apartment was ideal for our family (they enjoyed themselves because they met other kids).

I recommend this place although the only problem was the music festival... Loud music every night till midnight!

Indeed from time to time it is customary in many Italian villages to have street festivals with music, often culminating in a midnight fireworks display. Accommodations that are central in town are right in the middle of the fun, and in some cases the only thing you can do is to join the party. Otherwise Villa Floriana is a relatively quiet place, considering that it is not isolated but in the center of a village.

May 2011 - Altogether, we enjoyed the apartment immensely. The location is on the main street so there was traffic under our terrace. This is not in the proprietors' control. One gets used to it very quickly.

The apartment was great, the view superb and the service excellent. Because of the altitude it was cooler there than in Florence.

Travel tips

  • San Baronto is well located to go each day to different towns in Tuscany.
  • There is a Coop a few kilometers away in Lamporecchio.

May 2010 - It was a remote location but we enjoyed the ride through the countryside to explore the area.

Villa Floriana B was roomy, clean, modern and comfortable. The large balcony was outstanding and we really appreciated the covered parking garage. it was a very relaxing place. The view overlooks a 50 mile wide valley to the coastal mountains.

Your service was great and we thanked our friends in Georgia for giving us the referral to you.

Travel tips

  • You will definitely need a vehicle.
  • The next door restaurant, Restaurant Bellavista, was great and the proprietor, Giuseppe, speaks English and helped us with route navigation.
  • There is a large supermarket in Lamporecchio.
  • Take day trips to Volterra, San Gimignano, Viareggio and Lucca.
  • There isn't anything to do in the evening and no English TV, so bring your own books and other forms of entertainment.

May 2010 - The villa was quite large and comfortable, the view from the huge terrace was amazing.

The village of San Baronto had everything needed, a well stocked general store, Tabacchi, cafe, take away pizza and pasta and a very good Restaurant in the Bellavista Hotel, two minutes walk from the villa.

Summer in Italy is faultless, always doing what they say they will and in a friendly and professional manner. Luca especially is a delight to deal with.

Travel tips

  • Eat at the Bella Vista Hotel Restaurant, we did every night and the menu was local with new specials every day. The owner Giuseppe was a delight.
  • We went to Vinci and other small towns close by, also to the fashion outlet centre at Empoli. Florence was a short drive away.

July 2009 - This was the most incredible place I have ever stayed. It is up in the Chianti hills and this particular apartment (B) has a beautiful view of the valley below.

San Baronto is high enough that it is cooler and less humid than nearby Florence (though the apartment has a very efficient air conditioner if one needs it).

The pictures are exactly how it looks -- I couldn't believe it! There are almost floor to ceiling doors that curve around the bedroom and open onto an immense deck. It is very bright and clean and the woman who runs the place is wonderful.

There is parking below the complex so your car is off the road.

The kitchen has all the necessary dishes and utensils, refrigerator, stove, coffee maker (though no microwave). There is a TV and DVD player with a rack of DVDs in the lobby (though I don't know the charge or anything because we did not take advantage of that opportunity).

We were also able to pay 5 euros for the week to have Wi-Fi in our apartment but one can check email for free at a computer in the lobby.

The whole experience was absolutely wonderful.

Travel tips

  • There is a wonderful restaurant next door - Pizzeria Vittoria - and another a bit further away - La Pineta. In both we had delicious food and wine and excellent and friendly service.
  • The complex has a washing machine with a small charge per load. The apartment has a clothes drying rack and clothespins so that laundry is pretty easy.
  • You can head out in any direction and see something wonderful, but don't forget to take a hike through San Baronto itself - it is a very lovely place.
  • There are two "mini-markets" in town. If you want a larger grocery store be aware that they are not as plentiful in Italy as, say, in the U.S., so when you do find one, stock up :-).

September 2008 - Villa Floriana B is in a small village of San Baronto which has 3 good eating places & a bar & 2 general stores for groceries etc.

The panoramic views from the bedroom & balcony are breathtaking & it is the ideal place for a quiet relaxing time.

The 10 mt x 5 mt pool within the complex is a great place to relax, swim & still take in those views.

A great place to go to get away from it all & only a walk away for your evening meal after a day of touring or relaxing!

Summer In Italy were yet again top class.

Everything about the website, booking, payment, directions! It's the 2nd time we've booked through you & we'll definitely be doing so again & have passed your details to other friends! We love Italy & can't wait to return next year! Many thanks!

Travel tips

  • Staying here you definitely need a car, not only to travel to San Baronto but to explore the fantastic Tuscan scenery & nearby towns of Florence, Siena, Lucca & Pisa!
  • The restaurant is on one side & the pizzeria/spaghetti restaurant on the other: you are only 1 minute from your evening meal. A 3rd restaurant is about 3 mins walk away. A bar just 2 mins away & 2 shops within 3 minutes makes this a great getaway!
  • The views are amazing from the balcony & the panoramic French windows from the bedroom.
  • The windows all around bring the large balcony into your living space & by opening up the doors you are living in Tuscany!
  • The night lights on the distant towns many miles across the valley are great!
