Fantastic

September 2015 - We loved our 5 night stay at Villa Faustina A.

The view is amazing, the apartment is clean, comfortable and quiet. There is a restaurant directly across the road and the walk down to the town square is quite an easy one to other many good restaurants and bars. Would definitely recommend Villa Faustina A to family and friends.

Everyone I dealt with were extremely helpful and professional. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • The bus stop for Sorrento is just a short walk up the hill.
  • Loved the restaurants Max and Da Vincenzo, and also Da Bruno up the hill from the villa.
  • We had a great day at Da Adolfo beach/restaurant.
  • Enjoyed the shopping.
  • Great day trip to Isle of Capri.

June 2015 - We had a fantastic time at Villa Faustina A.

The accommodation was beautiful, the view from the balcony stunning, very convenient for ferries, shops and buses.

I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Positano.

Katia [the caretaker] was very good, very helpful and always pleasant.

I thought Summer In Italy was excellent, very informative, all the villas on their site looked lovely, and their newsletters were a great idea.

September 2012 - We enjoyed the excellent location and absolutely stunning view from our balcony.

The hospitality shown to us by the owners and their employees was more than we expected. Warm, friendly, helpful, organized. We enjoyed the familiarity we felt as the people were so friendly.

Keep up the great work. It's a great place and we are happy to have found it and will highly recommend it to others.

It was so easy to book with Summer in Italy, that is the attractive thing about it, organized and simple to use. We will definitely do it again and highly recommend it to others as we have already done.

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed making our way down to the piazza everyday.
  • The apartment was self contained everything you needed was there for you.

October 2009 - Our stay at Villa Faustina A was a highlight of our visit to Italy. The accommodations were very comfortable and the villa was lovely.

The location from the bus stop is very convenient and the view is spectacular.

I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend to others.

Very pleased and will plan a vacation with your company again.

Travel tips

  • Positano is a wonderful town to spend some time. It offers a relaxing beach and the convenience of planning day tours away. We fell in love with the area. October was a great time to be there because it was not crowded with tourists, rather quiet actually.
  • We are pleased that we rented a villa that gave us the ability to prepare and cook some meals.: There is a very nice market very close to the villa.

September 2009 - This place is excellent. The view's are fabulous and the is at the most convinient location one can ask for. Bus stops are nearby.

The Villa is decently furnished with 2 times a week maid service. It was the most enjoyable stay we had and I couldn't think of anything that could have made the stays at this place less enjoyable.

One small think: if you are used to drinking a lot of coffee, do ask the owner for a large coffee maker.

Booking was easy and was confirmed quickly. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • Catch the boat to Amalfi etc as we heard buses can get delayed on the narrow roads, boats have amazing views and are much quicker anyway.

September 2008 - We thoroughly enjoyed our week staying at Villa Faustina A.

The location was perfect for either sitting on the terrace watching the world go by or joining all others and catching a ferry to Capri or Amalfi. We took the bus to Amalfi and the boat back - enjoyed it all.

We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants the ability to relax with their own facilities in the centre of the activity of the Amalfi Coast - Perfecto!

We found you on the web and are grateful we did. We went on a 10 day tour, spent some time in Rome alone then were ready for some relaxing time. Villa Faustina A was the answer. Thank you very much!

Travel tips

  • For an extra exciting evening try the Trattoria La Tagliata. They will pick you up at your doorstep and take you way up to the top of the mountain. The ride itself is an experience. If you want a quiet romantic evening, this is not the place but if you're looking for a fun night to remember, make reservations and enjoy.

June 2008 - The location was excellent, and the views from the terrace are to die for!!

Just one complaint, the bathroom could do with a makeover to bring it up to the excellent high standards within the apartment.

Great service, thanks for a great holiday.

Travel tips

  • Make sure you get off at the bus stop advised in the directions given, it is only a very short walk downhill to the villa. Better still come into Positano via boat.

Angela [the owner] and family were also more than helpful.

The view is spectacular and the location of the apartment is ideally suited to people who wish to site see around Positano and surrounding areas.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

The email prior to arriving with all the details on it was one of the best I have ever received and was very detailed and clear.

Travel tips

  • Down by the beach is a fabulous restaurant which is named Buca di Bacco which has great food and great views, it might be on the higher priced side but you get what you pay for.

November 2007 - Villa Faustina A was a delightful place to stay in Positano. The location was excellent, close to the bus stop, shops, beach, launch wharf etc.

The views from the terrace were just lovely, and we felt we experienced as much of the 'real' Positano as a tourist can expect!

The facilities in the apartment were generally very good, and we found we had most of what we needed.

October 2007 - We had an amazing week staying at Villa Faustina A. Our experience started when we booked, it was so easy doing this through Summer in Italy and everything that we expected was delivered.

It was wonderful to have such a large apartment in such a fantastic location and the freedom to cook our own meals as well as to enjoy the surrounding restaurants

We found Summer in Italy by accident but our experience was brilliant from the first enquiry we made, I have already recommended this to others currently planning trips

Travel tips

  • Make sure you use Positano as your base to explore the rest of the coast, the SITA bus trips were very memorable.

September 2007 - We enjoyed our stay at Villa Faustina A immensely.

Signora Angela [the owner] was extremely helpful in not only making our accommodations perfect, but she was also able to provide tips and referrals for tours and restaurants.

Positano was an amazing spot to stay while visiting Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii too.

We had many meals on our balcony overlooking the sea and the amazing view of Positano. You couldn't ask for more!!

I would highly recommend Villa Faustina.

Keep up the great service, Summer In Italy!! Not sure what else you could have done for us. The pre-sent material was great and all the advice and service was amazing. Thank you for helping to make our trip wonderful. Everything we saw on the Internet was exactly the way it was. Thanks again!!

Travel tips

  • I would advise taking advantage of the breakfast Signora Angela can offer at 6 euro a person, it's unbeatable.
  • Sorrento is a must see.
  • Try a private boat tour to Capri with Matteo at Lucibello boat tours. You get a much closer view of the grottoes and landscape than you would with the ferry.
  • Brunos is a very inexpensive and tasty choice for dinner which is just a few steps from Villa Faustina.

May 2007 - Excellent location a short walk to bus, food store, restaurant and tourist shops. The walk to the beach is not bad by Positano standards.

Great view from the patios. One patio is set up for a couple to dine outdoors, the other has a pair of lounge chairs for reading and sunning.

Spacious apartment - the most comfortable of any we have ever rented. Kitchen was well equipped. Drying rack for laundry was very useful. We were happy to have had good reading lights available for in the evenings.

Cleaning service and towel changes daily were an unexpected benefit. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Keep up the good work. You handled everything is a professional manner.

April 2007 - The apartment was great for what we needed, especially the terrace and the view!

It was truly amazing and for us the location was great... only a 7 minute walk to the center of town.

The bed was comfortable, lots of hot water and great water pressure in the bathroom. The only issue with the kitchen is that the washing machine took hours to complete one load [eh eh... the issue is not with Villa Faustina A, the average wash time for the Italian machines is two hours... the Dolce Vita, you know...]

I would highly recommend staying here and would return.

All in all, a wonderful trip!

Summer In Italy were great, provided wonderful, detailed information. I would recommend them to anyone.

Travel tips

  • If you are a first time visitor to Positano make sure you visit the tourist center when you arrive and ask the locals for info.
  • Bring an alarm clock.
  • Restaurants: Bar Bruno - 30 seconds from the Villa. Good, inexpensive food. The Delikatessen Positano was fabulous! If you want some delicious meals to take with you to go, visit them in the morning. Fabulous grilled veggies, potatoes, fresh mozzarella, sandwiches, fruits, veggies - everything you might need. The food was as good, if not better, than most of the restaurants. Chez Black - over priced and not good.
  • Day trips: 1) Ravello - spectacular! 2) Capri - many companies run a day trip to Capri. Make sure you get to Ana Capri and take the chair lift to the very top. An amazing view not to be missed!
  • The water taxi runs from town to town and is a great way to get around - beats the bus! We ended up taking it from Positano to Naples to catch our train back to Rome. A unique way to travel and great views of the shoreline.

December 2006 - This was a great retreat for us.

The location was perfect and the apartment was homey, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in.

Travel tips

  • We think the best time to visit Positano and Villa Faustina A is during the off season, such as December when we visited. No crowds, great weather, etc.

November 2006 - We were very pleased with our stay. The view and location were excellent.

We enjoyed the balcony. The villa was spacious and clean. It was helpful to have a washing machine.

The owners were pleasant and helpful. The overall value was excellent. I would highly recommend it.

Summer In Italy was recommended by a friend. We thought they did a great job and the information provided by e-mail and on the web site was accurate, necessary and helpful. We also read and took with us a travel guide specifically about the Amalfi Coast. Even though we are new to European travel between the two resources we did fine. I would certainly recommend it to others.

Travel tips

  • We were there in November at what is considered off season and we had great weather. I think fall is the best time to visit Italy.
  • We enjoyed window shopping and walking on the beach.
  • There is a small grocery store that we used often for supplies for our meals.
  • We used Positano as our base and traveled by bus and train to many other sights.
  • The bus stop is right up the road.
  • A car is not necessary or recommended.

September 2006 - Really enjoyed our stay at Villa Faustina A. Fantastic location and fabulous views from the two balconies.

The villa was actually more spacious that what we had expected based on the pictures. The living room furniture is a bit spartan and could do with more comfortable pieces. We had cleaning service every other day which also made our stay very comfortable.

I am very happy with Summer In Italy. The villa was exactly as described in the website, so there were no unpleasant surprises.

Travel tips

  • The villa is very conveniently located within walking distances to bus stops, shops and the pier.
  • It is diagonally opposite the famed hotel Le Sirenuse so you can be assured of great views.
  • You will hear some traffic on and off but that did not bother us at all.

June 2006 - While we found the furnishings a bit spartan, the location in Positano is excellent. Very convenient which also accounts for the noise factor.

The owner could not have been nicer. A nice touch was the ability to have a continental breakfast delivered.
