November 2012 - Villa Cuore is a beautiful place, perfectly situated a short walk from the bustle of Positano. It has beautiful views, the calming sound of surf far below and all the space and equipment you need to cook your own meals and relax.

We stayed a week and had a lovely time. Anna [the owner] and her family were friendly and helpful.

Travel tips

  • Access is by several flights of steps, which are quite steep - good exercise!
  • You can walk east a short way from Villa Cuore to the start of the 1400 steps that lead up to Nocelle (well worth doing for the views, not as hard as it sounds), then begin the Walk of the Gods to Bomerano, or Praiano and get a bus back.
  • Paestum is also a good day trip if you get a driver to take you - the temples and painted tombs in the museum are extraordinary.

October 2012 - Villa Cuore is pretty much as close to heaven on earth as you can get. A beautiful place that's owned and managed by a wonderful, friendly couple who go out of their way to help make for a welcomed stay.

The villa is a good 10-15 minute walk from the heart of Positano but honestly... I viewed that as a positive as I didn't want to be smack dab in the "commercial" zone of Positano. This felt a little more "local" and the place was simply breathtaking.

I wouldn't hesitate in booking Villa Cuore again and would actually love to be back there now!

Thank you 'Summer in Italy'... renting through you was fantastic and I'd use you again in a heartbeat... as well as recommend your site to others.

Travel tips

  • Be prepared to walk a lot and manage well with stairs.
  • While there isn't a formal living room in the apartment... the kitchen is very efficient (with an eating table) and nice and the bedroom is a great size with a desk, chair, etc. So I didn't feel like I needed a living room at all. However, while this place is a perfect size for 2 people... I wouldn't recommend it for visitors with parties of more than 2.

August 2012 - I enjoyed the villa. A lot of steps, but worth it for the view. Anna and Fernando [the owners] were perfect hosts. I will go back.

August 2012 - Villa Cuore is in a fantastic location with truly sensational views. Positano is beautifully located on the Amalfi Coast.

The picture are a true representation of the villa and we could not have been more pleased with the villa itself. The free wifi was a pleasant and welcome surprise. The washing machine was a great help and the recommendations for local eateries and vendors from the owners who live next door were wonderful.

A wonderful holiday experience that made our 20th wedding anniversary memorable.

Summer in Italy did a great job. This was our first experience utilizing your service for a vacation booking and we would use your service again, for sure. Your tips in advance were most helpful and help set the stage for a successful vacation.

Travel tips

  • Rent a scooter. It is a great way to see the entire Amalfi Coast from Sorrento to Salerno and beats crowds on the bus.
  • Eat at La Taverna del Leone - it is great.
  • Spend time on Arienzo beach and eat at the little restaurant on the beach - it is fantastic.
  • If you have transportation and can drive 10 min to Praiano by scooter - you will find a butcher and a grocer and other shops to get fresh meats and groceries much less expensive than at the "deli" in Positano. That being said, the "deli" in Positano was very accommodating and also delivered our purchases to the door which is great considering all of the stairs.

Very good

June 2012 - Villa Cuore is situated in the most picturesque part of Positano, overlooking Arienzo Beach, crystal clear water and the best beach restaurant along the coast, a boat is available to take to the main beach on Positano.

The villa is simple but has most things you require for a comfortable stay, I stayed for 3 weeks, I was cooking at home 2 or 3 times a week, the kitchen was equipped with everything I needed. If you are staying for more than a week, there is no extra clean or change of sheets, you do this yourself, which I didn't mind. The terrace has room for 2 people, it has a stunning view overlooking the beach.

The access to beach is not directly from the villa, you walk back up the stairs and then along the road and down 300 stairs to the beach, it is not a hard walk, and the path down to the beach is shaded and pretty past beautiful villas and gardens. The walk into Positano takes around 8-10 minutes and is also a pleasant easy walk, there is an Interno bus from La Sponda bus stop which takes you all around Positano it really is no effort, once you get into the swing of the buses it is all very easy. The best grocery shopping and cheapest, also best coffee and cakes, is up at Chiesa Nuova, Bar Internazionale, the oldest bar in Positano, the locals bar, it is half the price of all the others and the best produce, their is also the fish market and butchers around the corner. They will deliver as well so you don't have to carry a thing back with you.

For couples this is a perfect apartment to stay in, so quiet with a view to die for. The hosts are there for you if you require assistance, other than that they leave you to have your privacy. I would stay here again, and I have stayed in many apartments and villas in Positano.

Summer in Italy have always been wonderful to deal with, thank you Luca.

Travel tips

  • If stairs are an issue it may be difficult, but they can't be avoided anywhere in Positano, it's great exercise.
  • The walk through the forest across the road is so beautiful, and cool on a hot day.
  • The restaurant on Arienzo beach is fantastic and the family a delight.
  • Hire a boat for the day swim at the Li Galli Islands and then late lunch at one of the restaurants at Nerano, then sleep it off on the way home as the boat follows the the coastline back to Positano.
  • Walk to Praiano in the morning, swim in the little cove then spend a couple of hours over lunch at Restaurant Il Pirata, wonderful food and a table overhanging the water.
  • Aperitivo on the terrace of Villa Franca, or Le Sirenuse, dinner at Restaurant Da Vincenzo, or for the ultimate contemporary Italian meal, Restaurant Next 2, amazing.

April 2012 - Villa Cuore far exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect walking distance from the center. It immediately felt like home. It was so very perfect for two people. We could not have asked for anything more. Anna and Ferdinando were excellent host.

We just cannot say enough about how positive our visit was. The views! High above the beach. We were lulled to sleep every night.

Summer In Italy was excellent. Everyone we dealt with was so very nice and it was all very efficiently done. There was not a question they could not answer.

We would definitely highly recommend Villa Cuore and Summer in Italy made it so easy. Would love to come back!

Travel tips

  • The Delikatessen / grocery store in the center makes excellent sandwiches and had absolutely everything we needed and then some.
  • Restaurant Chez Black is a must at least once.

October 2011 - We absolutely loved our time at Villa Cuore and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast.

Anna [the owner] is very nice and helpful.

The villa is spotless and the views are amazing.

We could not have been happier with our stay and will definitely be visiting again.

This was my first experience with booking anything through Summer in Italy and it was a very good experience. The team is very responsive to email inquiries and the documentation packet with directions, what to expect etc was extremely helpful. Also, the villa was exactly as pictured on the site.

Travel tips

  • I recommend to employ one of the many local drivers to take you around in the evening to shopping or restaurants. The local road is too treacherous to walk at night and the public transportation does not run too late into the evening – especially if you are visiting in the off season.

September 2011 - My wife and I spent a week of our honeymoon at this villa in September and really enjoyed the experience.

Anna and her husband [the owners] were very helpful and we were very happy to find a wonderful and spotlessly clean villa.

We hired a scooter to get around while there and there is easy parking there for this. However it's not necessary to have one as the walk to Positano centre is an easy and enjoyable walk. Most of the walk is relatively flat with only the last part a bit steep but there's no avoiding some steep walking if you stay in Positano.

The beach below is well worth visiting and we enjoyed drinking, eating and chatting with the friendly owner.

If we were to return to Positano and wished to stay in a villa we would definitely want to stay back at Villa Cuore.

Thank You Anna and Ferdinando for an unforgettable stay. We also want to thank Summerinitaly. Keep up the good work.

September 2011 - We enjoyed Villa Cuore tremendously. The villa itself, the surroundings, the small terrace hanging over the sea, the owners who are very, very nice and accommodating people, small doggie Barole - the "guard", the beach (and the rocky road to it!) and an opportunity to experience beautiful Italian sizzling summer.

Thank you - very nicely done.

I would like to take this opportunity and let you know that we really liked the way Summer in Italy handled the entire reservation process, we found it very convenient, efficient and not stressful. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • Keep in mind the steps - it is everyday unavoidable exercise. We loved it, but recognize that this experience is not suitable for everyone.
  • If you come by a car make sure the car is really small. Driving is challenging.

August 2011 - My husband and I stayed in Villa Cuore for our honeymoon and can honestly say that it was perfect.

We were met at the villa by Anna & husband who helped us down the 100 steps to the villa (much appreciated). The first thing we saw was the view and we were completely blown away. The villa was the second and it was also completely amazing.

Anna and her husband live next door. They left us completely in peace but were always available for anything we needed.

The location was perfect. A 10-15 min walk along the coast road into Positano which we did everyday and completely loved.

The beach is directly below the villa. Again perfect and the restaurant attached to the beach has food to die for.

10/10 for everything. Thank you Villa Cuore!

Travel tips

  • Be prepared for the steps down from street level to villa and from villa to beach. Hard work but 100% worth it.

August 2011 - Villa Cuore was a beautiful place in which to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

It was located just out of town, which was nice because Positano can get very busy. It was also a good idea to walk off the calories from all the wonderful food!

Anna and her husband were excellent hosts, providing us with wine and prosecco for purchase, as well as discounts at local restaurants. I fell in love with the family dog, Baron, who greeted us on our return each evening :-)

The steps are strenuous, but again, we used that as our excuse to enjoy all the bounty the area had to offer in food/wine.

I wish we could visit Villa Cuore every year!!!

We loved the ease of booking through Summer in Italy. Your services came highly recommended from a friend who told us about the site, and it really WAS as easy as it appeared. Thank you so much for helping to make our 25th anniversary at Villa Cuore, the "trip of a lifetime"!

Travel tips

  • In town, we loved dinners at Restaurant La Cambusa (special evening), Buca di Bacco, and La Pergola.
  • Above Positano in the town of Montepertuso, our FAVORITE place was Restaurant il Ritrovo... excellent!
  • Don't miss a day trip to Capri. Gennaro and Salvatore in town gave us a great rate with the most for the money.
  • Try to take the hike, The Walk of the Gods if you are in tip top shape.
  • If you book ahead of time, the cooking class at Mamma Agata's in Ravello was my favorite thing to do the entire trip. Fabulous 9 course meal overlooking the water in a beautiful villa, and learning cooking secrets of a chef to Humphrey Bogart, Jackie Kennedy, et. al. Wonderful!!
  • If you can afford it, hire a personal driver to take you places... especially in July/August when the roads get very busy.

December 2010 - My husband and I spent 9 days in December of 2010 at Villa Cuore.

I have to say that has to be one of the nicest vacations if not the nicest one we had so far.

The location of the villa is unbelievable. The view is breathtaking. Most importantly the cleanliness of the villa was beyond expected. The amenities, as described on the website, were all there. The house is exactly if not better than the pictures on the summerinitaly.com website showed.

Anna the owner along with her husband were very hospitable and extremely helpful in every possible way.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we keep talking about going back one day.

We also want to thank the staff at summerinitaly.com for their prompt and professional reply to every request we had.

Before we left to Italy we kept thinking that everything seemed too good to be true. Now we say it was too good and soo true!

Amazing trip !!!!

October 2010 - We spent over 4 weeks in Italy and our stay in Cuore and in Positano was the highlight of the trip. If we can, we will try to come back next year.

Our hosts were gracious and helpful and the view from the apartment is breathtaking.

The apartment itself is completely charming and everything we could have wished for.

The service from Summer in Italy was spectacular and the best of any of the agencies we used. Keep up the good work.

Travel tips

  • I suggest walking the tracks above the apartment into the mountains or walking the road to Praiano and getting a water taxi back to the beach below the apartment.
  • Ravello and the Villa Cimbrone (go to Amalfi and then catch the bus to Ravello) were also spellbinding.

October 2010 - We LOVED our stay in Villa Cuore. The hosts, Mrs. Anna and Mr. Ferdinando are quite hospitable. The views from the bedroom and the small private patio are simply amazing - the best memory of our entire trip.

The kitchen is well appointed - we cooked breakfasts and a few dinners and had everything we needed. There really is no living room - simply a wicker loveseat and desk in the bedroom.

Anyone renting here needs to consider the stairs... 92 down to the place and back up to the street. Not an issue for us, but might be for others.

We loved Villa Cuore and hope to go back.

You've been great to deal with - we've recommended you to friends and will use your services again - thank you!

August 2010 - I am always nervous renting site unseen. I'm an internet research junkie when I travel. I scour the net for reviews and photos to be certain I'm getting what I think I am. That is why I am leaving a review for this rental. To help you decide ;-)

I've been to many countries, but have yet to rent a place a wonderful as Villa Cuore. The owners are super friendly and live next door. It is behind a locked gate (good for safety). Getting to the villa are many steps but the view is so spectacular, you hardly notice how far down you go.

The villa is perfect for a romantic getaway. It's very clean and tasteful. The air conditioning in the sweltering heat of August was most appreciated! I have nothing but praise for this place!

It's a five minute walk to town. A stroll I enjoyed every single day. As a solo female traveler, I always felt safe. No problems whatsoever. I'm glad I did not stay "in" Positano as it was so noisy at night, I would not have been able to sleep. In Villa Cuore, the waves crashing against the beach sang me to a glorious sleep every night. Bliss!

All of the electronics worked perfectly, including the internet.

But, sadly, I was the one who broke the chicken in the photo. I'm so sorry Anna! She was gracious about it. And, when I left my passport underneath the bed, a quick phone call to her resolved the problem. She held it for me until I could return to get it. (Along with a lot of cash there too!) A very honorable and delightful woman.

I spent one joyous week there and hope to return to it again someday! If this is in your price range and you want to rent in Positano, than THIS PLACE MUST BE YOUR CHOICE.

Booking with Summer in Italy was a breeze! They do a fantastic job!

June 2010 - This was an absolutely beautiful, romantic, peaceful villa. We could not have picked a better place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! The furnishings were very nice.

We enjoyed the location -- below the road, directly above the beach. The beach was beautiful, and we loved falling asleep to the crashing of the waves.

The family who owned the villa lived right beside it, and we had a great time talking with them. They helped us with so many things -- from helping watch the World Cup matches to buying bread. The wine selection they provided for our purchase was outstanding, and saved a lot of effort.

Our stay was much better than staying in a hotel in the middle of a city. We are recommending this villa to our friends and we plan to come back.

The service by Summer In Italy was very useful and accurate. We had no negative surprises, only positive surprises. Thank you for your help!

Travel tips

  • If you arrive in Positano by ferry, use the porters at the dock to haul your luggage up to the bus stop. If you take the bus, make sure it is the local bus, not the SITA bus.

April 2010 - Nice and clean apartment, a bit small, no living room, located 0.8 km from Positano through a walk on a tight main road, apartment located many steps down (equivalent to 4-5 floors), nice view although not of Positano, recommended for people in relatively good shape for climbing steps every day.

Big plus: the friendly couple that owns the apartment will go out of their way to accommodate you. That made the stay very enjoyable. Thanks, Anna and your husband!

Parking costs were an extra 10 euro/day. Parking entrance is tight, for small cars (medium size by Italian standards!), definitely not for a Mercedes E.

The owners were more than obliging and very friendly. On our arrival they had put a bottle of cold water in the fridge for us which was very much appreciated. Travel tips

May 2009 - Truly, the time we spent at Villa Cuore was one of our best vacations ever.

The entire apartment was new and beautiful - definitely ready for travelers with high expectations. We appreciated the appliances - A/C, washing machine, dishwasher, etc. The kitchen was well equipped (although there was a shortage of knives. Only 1 I recall...). We did not cook as much as I planned on - but the option to cook really helps with costs.

The place was very clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows - very important!

The views are spectacular. And you can hear the waves crashing on the shore below.

The location is PERFECT for visiting the Amalfi coast - you can walk to Positano and take the SITA bus to explore other areas. There are MANY stairs but that is typical in the area. Do not recommend, however, for travelers who are in poor health or physical shape becouse of the stairs.

The owners were so sweet. I did not realize until one of the last days that they had children - did not hear a peep out of them.

Overall - GO! I hesitated to book because when I did there were no reviews. But I'm so happy with Villa Cuore. You can't go wrong!

Terrific overall! Can't wait to come back!

Travel tips

  • Buy groceries in Sorrento or Amalfi - there was no good grocery store close to the apartment so we cooked less than we planned. However, there is one decent grocery store at the bottom of town in Positano (pricey, but decent) - it's by the church. They'll deliver.
