An absolute gem

August 2017 - Villa Carissa D is an absolute gem and we will definitely be returning. Our only criticism of our stay would be that when all the apartments are occupied, there aren't enough sun loungers round the pool, although there is very comfortable upright seating.

Summer In Italy were great from start to finish and I would definitely recommend them.

Travel tips

  • The village is lovely, especially in the evening and has everything you could need.
  • If hiring a car, make it a small one. Some of the roads are very narrow.

Fantastic

September 2014 - Great time at Villa Carissa D, we recommend it!

Villa Carissa D is a beautiful property in a great location, which allowed us to visit many sites (Pompeii, Naples, the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, ...).

The apartment was spacious and well laid out. We enjoyed the pool area - where chairs and umbrellas are available - and the beautiful pergola. We were also able to enjoy a beautiful sea view and tranquility. The only flaws, bedding (very firm and loud) and lack of soundproofing between the apartments.

Access to the residence is actually quite narrow but our rental car (Fiat 500L) went smoothly. There is a small car park in the residence, super convenient.

A big thank you to Carmela [the caretaker] who welcomed us at Villa Carissa D and took care of booking our trip to Capri.

Summer In Italy web site is very well done and we found there all the information needed to make our choice. Booking process was easy and everything was clear.

Travel tips

  • You will be able to arrange tours on site (to get to the Amalfi Coast or to Capri).
  • We opted for a day trip to Capri and it was really nice. The trip started in the small harbor located at about 25 minutes from the property. We went around the island of Capri and also had some free time (6 hours, excellent quality / price ratio).

Very good

August 2014 - Villa Carissa D was a lovely property. The location was perfect for our family to explore the Amalfi Coast.

My experience with Summer In Italy was a good one. You responded quickly and answered my questions.

Travel tips

  • Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is centrally located. Only 10 minutes from Sorrento, 30 minutes from Positano. The town itself is a bustling little beach town.
  • Don Alfonso is an amazing restaurant with a wine cellar that was built 6 centuries BC. It is pricey but worth it.

Very good

August 2014 - Villa Carissa D is a very pleasant, well equipped and comfortable apartment.

The terrace is a must with its large surface and nice view. The pool is nice, sunny and well maintained.

The residence is ideally situated in the charming village of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi (less than 10 minutes walk from the center, but in a quite and secure place): all necessary shops/restaurants/gelateria (!) are easily reachable from the apartment, and there is much less traffic jam and tourists crowding compared to the coast places.

As for in every rented apartment, calm depends on the neighbors: ours were pretty fine, hope it should be the same in most case. ;)

Excellent preparation and following of the trip by Summer In Italy team, very good welcome by the local team in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi.

Travel tips

  • Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi is a nice place to stay and visit the whole Sorrento peninsula and Napoli region. North and South coasts can be reached by car from this central location.

Fantastic

August 2012 - Villa Carissa is situated in a beautiful location, felt isolated with that amazing view, but is only a few minutes walk into the village with shops and restaurants.

Pool excellent and Sergio [the caretaker] was so friendly and helpful.

Apartment had pretty much everything you needed and it was nice to arrive and find a few things already there.

Summer in Italy did a great service.

Travel tips

  • Hiring a boat for the day was amazing.

July 2011 - We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Carissa D - the apartment and the grounds were gorgeous - immaculately kept and in a tranquil position but with amazing views over the Sorrento peninsula and out to the Mediterranean sea and within 10-15 mins easy drive down the hillside to Sorrento - or to Positano on the other side.

The apartment was beautifully and stylishly decorated and furnished to a very high standard.

The on-site staff were really friendly and helpful.

Very good value for money - particularly in this area where accommodation is expensive.

Your service and information was excellent -you made it all very easy - and if this property is representative of the standard of property Summer in Italy offer then that is also very high.

Travel tips

  • You do need a car when staying here.

April 2011 - It was very clean and the people were nice, but it didn't have the "Italian" feel I would have liked. It was more of a glorified apartment which fit our needs and our pocketbook. The location was very good and the town was convenient for shopping and buses.

It was wonderful to receive the newsletter every month and has some great advice.

Travel tips

  • Very easy to walk into town to shop or catch the bus to Sorrento. Once in Sorrento you can get the ferry over to Capri.

October 2010 - Villa Carissa turned up to be a very clean, modern and well equipped apartment. The managers were friendly and responsive. We enjoyed our stay there.

Travel tips

  • DO NOT RELY ON YOUR GPS BUT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE VOUCHER!!! We ended up in a very narrow and winding road, it was late at night and raining and it took us ages to reverse back to the main road. GPS tries to take you left at any possible road from Sorrento, whilst these roads are sometimes more like footpaths and it's impossible to go through without scratching your car (note the cars of the locals!). Follow the main road to Sant'Agata and don't turn anywhere dodgy.

May 2010 - We loved our stay here, and it would have been absolutely perfect but one thing -- the bed is very hard, which may suit some but we found it uncomfortable. Apart from that - the place is PERFECT. The kitchen is well equipped, the decor lovely, the managers is very helpful too! Very approachable and his English was excellent.

Your voucher was brilliant - everything we needed was right there - so thank you! I also really like the friendly informal style of your communications - so thank you!

July 2008 - It is a great place to stay!

It's very quiet, but not so hot because it is on a hill.

The apartment and environment (pool, garden) are very clean.

It's also very safe, because the complex is closed with a private gate.

Luca at Summer In Italy is very friendly. You can ask him everything. He looks for a solution if there is any problem.

We had a magnificent stay.

Travel tips

  • Take some trousers with you! In the morning and evening it's to cold to eat on the terrace, even in July!
  • We recommend to hire a car.
  • We visited (with 3 young children): Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, Naples, Paestum, Stabiae.
  • Just be aware the way to get off the peninsula takes one hour...

May 2008 - We had a great time at Villa Carissa.

We stayed there with our little girl and she enjoyed it big time.

Very helpful staff, great pool and view.

Travel tips

  • Small car because of the small roads
  • Visit Marina del Cantone for a nice dinner at the beach and the family run restaurant in Sant'Agata, Restaurant Lo Stuzzichino.

Unfortunately, Villa Carissa D can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
