A great find

July 2017 - I thought Villa Calandria was a great find. It is everything advertised. The outdoor spaces, water access and views are incredible. There was just three of us on this trip so the villa was overly spacious for us and could really fit six guests. I think it mentioned the 150 steps down to it which could possibly be an issue for some.

Summer In Italy was very professional.

Travel tips

  • The town of Minori is what I would call the most local of all the Amalfi cities. Less glamour more culture and truly more adorable. A lower cost base to access some of the more expensive cities.
  • Minori is a great place to start and finish some tours of Amalfi by boat.
  • The hike to Ravello was a highlight for me as I nearly died carrying the backpack with child.
  • A full day trip, trip for lunch or a transfer to Capri are great ideas.

Fantastic

July 2015 - Fantastic villa. Great views from every window and terrace.

Direct access to the sea is a luxury since we did not have to go to the crowded Minori beach.

Helpful owner who provided us with a generous welcome hamper and tips on getting the best out of our trip.

Looking forward to our next visit there.

Travel tips

  • Hire a small car as the car parking space is a bit tight.
  • Not suitable for guests with mobility issues as the villa is down 150 steps from the road.
  • Take some mosquito repellent as there are few of these around at nights.
  • Take a trip on a pedalò to enjoy the Minori coast.
  • We enjoyed hiking to Ravello and also the Path of the Gods.

Fantastic

June 2015 - Villa Calandria is a beautiful villa, my family and I had a lovely time there. Hope to be back one day!

Our thanks to Barbara the owner and Peter who oversees the property, they both were extremely helpful and ensured we had a lovely stay. The owner was very generous in welcome pack, which we did not expect.

All very efficient and easy to book. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • Good choice of restaurants.
  • Public transport good - buses and boat trips.
  • If not hiring a car, all walkable but be prepared for lots of steps.
  • Ask owner to point out the supermarkets and points of interest.

Fantastic

June 2015 - We enjoyed our stay very much. The villa itself was the best thing about the holiday. The second best thing was the nearby town of Minori.

Travel tips

  • We were attacked by mosquitoes (not their fault!).
