The greatest location

August 2017 - We just spent an amazing week at this Villa which could not have been in a greater location.

Andrea [the owner] was incredibly welcoming making us feel like family rather than guests.

The Villa is beautiful, clean with great air conditioners in the bedrooms (you don't need them in the living room it cools the entire place).

The views were spectacular, sunsets while relaxing on the balcony. The larger balcony with the pool is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures.

Highly recommend Guarciamo for dinner, a small place they told us about had the most amazing food, although all the meals were pretty amazing.

We hired a private driver to do Pompeii with Gaetano (also highly recommend), took a boat ride to Ischia, Capri, all within walking distance to peer.

Summer in Italy were excellent at making recommendations and helping us get connected to tours and private drivers. Wonderful experience!!!! Can't wait to return!!!!

Travel tips

  • Use private drivers to sights, tours are very crowded.

Great!

August 2016 - Villa Azzurra F was great. The only thing us weak Americans would prefer was AC units in the common areas, not just in the bedrooms.

Summer In Italy provided great management all around. I can't think of anything you would need to improve your services!

Travel tips

  • If you tour in July or August be prepared for warm temperatures in the common areas.

Very good

July 2015 - Villa Azzurra F is very well and comfortably furnished. It has an excellent location above Marina Piccola for stunning views and is in easy walking distance to the town. The only downside was the lack of peace and quiet at night. This is different to the excellent reviews for peace and quiet so I don't know if we were just unlucky during our stay but groups of youths would congregate at Marina Piccola each night to swim and drink between midnight and 5 am and as the property directly overlooks Marina Piccola the shouting was loud enough to disturb sleeping each night.

The owner Andrea is very nice and helpful.

We found the booking process very professional and there was excellent communication.

Excellent

June 2014 - We had a wonderful time during our stay at Villa Azzurra F. We have two boys (17 and 18) and the apartment was perfect for us.

Our apartment was below the main level and had stunning views of the sea and marinas. Each night we were rewarded with a spectacular sunset over the horizon, into the sea. We also had a direct view of Mount Vesuvius.

The beds were very comfortable. We used the main terrace a few times and had it to ourselves most of the time while the other guests were out and about. There were some tour books in the apartment that we were able to borrow for our day trips.

Villa Azzurra F is located steps away from St. Antonino square where we would go each morning for a cappuccino. A few more steps away is Piazza Tasso, the main square of Sorrento. We did not have a car and did not need one as everything was within walking distance. This was especially nice for the boys as we were totally comfortable with them walking around on their own.

We felt like we were in paradise and will definitely return.

It was a pleasure to meet Andrea and Simone [the owners]. They were very kind and helpful in many ways.

I stumbled upon Summer In Italy on the net searching for a place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. We lucked out when we found Sorrento. The staff at Summer In Italy were helpful in answering our questions before we finally booked. Luca was especially patient with all of my questions via email or phone.

Travel tips

  • Sorrento is a flat walk-able town with many shops and restaurants in the main area. The town is elevated above sea level with steps and pathways to get you down to the beach and marina areas.
  • Bar Vittoria was our favorite place to get a cappuccino each morning and Franco's our favorite pizza place.
  • The food is fresh, simple and delicious.
  • The train station is a 15 minute walk away from which is also where you pick up the buses to go to the Amalfi Coast.

May 2014 - We had the most amazing visit to Sorrento!

Villa Azzurra F was fabulous! It was so special to stay in such a beautiful Villa and to get to know Andrea and Simone [the owners]. They were more than gracious! And the fact that Andrea is fifth generation owner made it so personal.

The Villa was located in the middle of everything we wanted to do and was easily within walking distance. And the view was incredible! Sitting on the balcony, overlooking the Bay of Naples, and watching the sunset and the boats come in! What's not to love!

Travel tips

  • Villa Azzurra F is within walking distance to both Piazza Tasso and Piazza Sant'Antonino, both great places to sip Cappuccino and people watch.
  • Visit Luigi at Ristorante Pizzeria Sant'Antonino! (just off Piazza Sant'Antonino). A must! The food is homemade as is the Limoncello and Luigi's laugh is infectious!
  • Restaurant Il Buco is a fabulous evening out (expensive but worth it)!
  • The best inlaid wood pieces are made by A. Stinga (Piazza F.S. Gargiulo). Love his stuff!!
  • Walk down beyond Piazza Lauro to the Lemon Grove and taste wonderful, organic Limoncello! Yum!
  • Ask Andrea to take you on his boat to Capri, a great day trip!
  • Another day trip - Positano - take the bus up (incredible cliff views) and ferry back. Enjoy la dolce vita!!

September 2013 - There is a bit of romance staying in the Villa with the past history of the home. We loved it !!This was our second visit to Sorrento and we will return.

Travel tips

  • Americans are used to electric coffee pots and we didn't have one but there was a version the Italians use. We also didn't have a toaster but used the fry pan to make do.
  • Bring your own bath soap.
  • Lots of wonderful restaurants and shops in the area.
