Simply stunning!

June 2019 - Villa Angiolina is simply stunning! I’ve never stayed in a villa (and we have stayed in many villas over 20 years) that was so well presented. Every room was immaculate even the laundry room and the garden and seating areas are quite magical.

I can’t recommend Villa Angiolina enough. I was really sad to leave but it won’t be the last time we sip a glass of Prosecco admiring the view. We will be back some day.

We were very happy with the villa and the owners help and assistance. Daniele [the owner] is lovely, accommodating and really cares that everything is to a an excellent standard. We had one or two issues with our car whilst we were in Praiano and he went well beyond the bounds of responsibility to help sort out our issues.

The service I had from Summer in Italy leading up to our stay was very good and I was provided with all the information I needed about arrival and costs etc., in plenty of time. The whole process was very efficient and Luca was a pleasure to deal with.

Stunning!

August 2018 - Beautiful house with aesthetics you can't find anywhere else.

Perfect location if you like the Amalfi Coast (and why you would not?). Praiano is not so crowded with tourists as the near locations but you will find everything you could need here. Stunning!

Exceeded our expectations on all counts

June 2017 - Fantastic. Exceeded our expectations on all counts. Villa Angiolina is spotless and beds are fab and very very comfortable.

The owner Julietta has thought of everything, so all you need to do is to go to the local supermarket, which for some reason is a much more enjoyable thing to do when you are on holiday, and the staff at Tutto per Tutti are charming and helpful.

Very impressed. The level of information and communication is excellent, and the whole process of booking the holiday and having questions answered was 10/10. Will definitely book through Summer In Italy again.

Travel tips

  • For the sun worshippers don't worry the terrace gets the sun from first thing in the morning until around 4 pm (first week of June).
  • Great restaurants but our favourite was a short walk to Hotel Margherita, where they have a restaurant on the roof of the hotel. The views are stunning, the staff great and I have to say the night I had fillet steak it was the best I have ever tasted.
  • We hired a Fiat 500 to get from Naples to the villa and used it a few times.
  • If you need to get around the local busses are great and regular, and an experience.
  • The car parking is worth it and you have a very secure area to park with an electric gate.
  • Praiano is totally unspoilt but close (20 minute bus ride) to the bustling town of Positano.
  • Julietta [the owner] has provided everything, towels, sun bed towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, all the basic toiletries, soaps, kitchen consumables e. g. dishwasher tablets, etc. (has to be the best provided villa we have stayed in to date).

May 2017 - Not only we enjoyed, we adored the place, it is extraordinary... Being at the Amalfi Coast and staying at Villa Angiolina has been the best part of our trip!!! We actually consider returning one day!!!

Everything was just perfect! And thanks for everything!

Travel tips

  • Many places are nearby Villa Angiolina and we were happy to visit Positano and Amalfi. With more time we would have visited Capri and Ravello.

Perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of the Amalfi Coast

October 2016 - Villa Angiolina was a perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of the Amalfi Coast without being in a crowded atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and clean, bathrooms perfect, and the terraces truly wonderful. We didn't spend that much time inside, since the weather encouraged being outside. Yes, the steps were there, but not that difficult since they are not "continuous." Thirty steps, some sideward steps, another fifteen, another sidewards move, etc.

Julietta [the owner] was the perfect hostess, and while my wife speaks some Italian, we didn't need it since her English was perfect. She handled many questions perfectly, and was most responsive.

All went very well...

Travel tips

  • Praiano is a great spot from which to head east or west, so the situate is great.
  • The store near the villa does have everything you need to be comfortable, with some decent restaurants nearby.
  • Bus to Positano is the only way to go... We had a car, but saved it for trips to spots the bus didn't go, and where we could park.
  • The parking spots that Julietta gets (for a fee) are more than adequate and are safe.
  • Ravello is a must.
  • Positano a "must" in that one does need to see it, but very touristy even in late October.

We had a fabulous time

October 2016 - Villa Angiolina was perfect. It was clean and absolutely beautiful. We've never stayed in a place with such a spectacular view. We had a fabulous time.

All good. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Summer In Italy was great. Communication was good. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. We heard about Summer In Italy from a friend who stayed in Praiano using Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • Julietta, the owner, was very helpful in suggesting restaurants, grocery store and how to get around by bus.
  • We traveled to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and Pompeii. Highly recommend all.
  • October was a wonderful time to travel to Amalfi Coast. Temperatures in the 70's most days.
  • Crowds in some areas, but not overwhelming. The stairs where a bit of a challenge, but kept us fit. The villa was well worth the climb.

Views were heavenly, literally!

October 2016 - Villa Angiolina was absolutely beautiful, clean and perfectly maintained. The views were heavenly, literally! This was our second villa rental in Praiano where we have fallen in love with its people, its awesome Amalfi Coast location, its wonderful cuisine and wines and the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea.

The only advice we have for Julietta [the owner] is don't change a thing! She was absolutely wonderful. So welcoming and having everything ready for us: porters for our luggage, welcome fruit and wine and all the basic supplies we'd need. She even had pasta and sauces ready for cooking so that we wouldn't have to run out and food shop after our long trip from the USA.

Summer In Italy: you are all great! Luca, Melanie, Valeria and all. Don't know how you do it... Responding so quickly on every inquiry no matter time of day. Your organization is excellent and you helped us select two outstanding villas along with providing all the advice we needed to make a perfect trip. We have and will continue to recommend you highly to family and friends. We will be contacting you again for a return to beautiful Italy. Thank you sincerely.

Travel tips

  • Praiano is a gem on the Amalfi Coast. Quieter than its neighbors of Amalfi and Positano but very accessible to them and to so many historical interests (Pompeii, Paestum, etc).
  • Use the expertise of the Summer In Italy staff to help plan all aspects of your trip: the villa, transportation, tours and all the nitty gritty stuff that will make your stay even better.

Views were amazing!

August 2016 - Excellent property... Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Angiolina. Very quiet and the views were amazing!

The owner Julietta was very kind and helpful, offering numerous tips on restaurants and activities in the area. Thanks Julietta, we enjoyed our stay...

Excellent experience with Summer In Italy... Thank you. We will use you for future travel to Italy!

Travel tips

  • We very easily visited both Positano and Amalfi in the same day taking the local bus to Positano, the high speed water ferry to Amalfi (great views of the coast), and then the SITA bus back to Praiano. This approach avoided having to catch the always full SITA bus mid route as it originated in Amalfi for the trip back to Praiano.
  • We were able to book a day trip to Capri with a pick up/drop off at Marina di Praia in Praiano. We used Positano Boats which worked great but other tour operators offer a similar service.
  • A few restaurants offer a free car service for pick up/drop off (usually at Tutto per Tutti). Just ask. The steps/hills can be challenging... More so after a Limoncello or two.
  • We highly recommend a day at One Fire Beach... Nice amenities, food, and swimming. They will also pick you at Marina di Praia... Call and make a reservation as the boat fills up. Piccoletto, the owner, is quite the character and puts on a show. Note: they play club music and it get's louder as the day progresses. If you are looking for a quiet beach escape this is not it (though it is fun).
  • We enjoyed Restaurant Kasai (also owned by Piccoletto) having dinner there 3 of our 7 nights. The fixed course menu was excellent and a bargain.
  • Enjoy!

We will be back for certain!

June 2016 - What can I say, Villa Angiolina was everything and MORE! Pictures really just don't do it justice. We will be back in the next few years for certain.

Julietta [the owner] was lovely to work with and very helpful.

Enjoy, you will not regret it!

Travel tips

  • To make your stay in the Amalfi Coast better, don't drive. This coming from a person who ALWAYS drives and love to drive and is not intimidated by driving in the craziest of places (so far, Thailand).
  • The real issue on the Amalfi Coast is space. Parking is just impossible, literally. Workers have to park all along the coastal road for miles to get to work. One day we tried to drive to Positano from Praiano (about 8 km). The traffic was so bad, we ended up past Positano and decided to go to Pompeii that day.
  • My suggestion is take the train/bus/taxi to your location, then rent a scooter to explore the area. This is what we will do next time. Specifically this will work wonderfully with Villa Angiolina. It's quite high up (yes, lots of stairs, but worth every single stair!).

We loved every moment we were there!

May 2016 - Villa Angiolina is so very beautiful. The view was priceless. We have and will continue to recommend the villa to everyone we loved every moment we were there!

Julietta [the owner] provided for every need. She was so kind and generous with her time and information about the area.

The Summer In Italy website was very helpful for obtaining information about many of our destinations in Italy. I will use it for future bookings.

Travel tips

  • Some shops, restaurants and activities are within a reasonable walk (and climb).
  • The local Praiano bus is important to get to most locations, including the beach and to Positano. The bus drivers sell tickets and give change.

The view is breathtaking!

April 2016 - Villa Angiolina is exactly the same as described and on the pictures. The villa is very clean and you will find everything you need to plenty enjoy your stay. The view from the balconies as well as from every room is always breathtaking.

Julietta [the owner] is amazing, she is kind and has been very helpful.

We strongly recommend Villa Angiolina to anyone that is looking to experience the true Amalfi Coast life.

Travel tips

  • If you are hesitant in renting the villa because of the many stairs to access it, you should know that that the climbing is not so bad since it is punctuated by little paths and beautiful gardens that allows you to relax on your way up.
  • Praiano is a quiet town strategically located in the center of the Amalfi Coast and where you can relax away from the crowd.

August 2015 - Villa Angiolina is a beautiful villa, an excellent location in a quiet and serene setting!

It was a top notch accommodation and our teenager children absolutely loved Villa Angiolina and the town. The stairs and walking were really nothing and we so looked forward returning to our little oasis in the sky. The views were spectacular - we found it hard to leave. Villa Angiolina is one of the top villas we have seen in the area and we will most certainly be back.

Don't hesitate... Book your tickets and go. You will not regret this decision!

Julietta [the owner] and the folks at Summer In Italy were fantastic!

Summer In Italy's team and website is fantastic! Great support before and after we booked. Always quick to respond and a wealth of information and tips! Their selection of properties is top notch! Highly recommend using them for your next booking to Italy.

Travel tips

  • We did not rent a car while there and really did not need one. The traffic and parking is highly congested. Buses and taxis (boat or auto) are the perfect alternative.
  • The town of Praiano is a great place to stay if you want to appreciate the authenticity of the Amalfi Coast.
  • The local beaches, town and restaurants are lovely.
  • Day visits to the popular attractions of Positano, Amalfi, etc. were more than enough as these were heavily congested with tourists.

June 2015 - Some say “you can't go home again” but, for us, going back to Villa Angiolina a second time was even better than our first glorious stay.

The villa is immaculate right down to the freshly ironed bed linens! Everything about the villa is superb. It is heaven on earth for its natural beauty, perfectly maintained gardens and spacious rooms, and for its wonderful hostess. The best place we ever stayed!

Praiano is a gorgeous town but Villa Angiolina makes the experience even better. It is the best place to stay for its beauty and because it is close to the biggest market (Tutto Per Tutti) and the local bus stop that takes you everywhere in town and to Positano.

The owner, Julietta, is absolutely outstanding. She takes great pride in presenting her spectacular villa with the most beautiful decor and hospitality. Thanks for your warm hospitality, you and Daniele are terrific! Keep up the good work. God willing, we will be back! God bless you Julietta.

Julietta, the owner, is simply wonderful... extremely helpful and caring. Franco [the local porter] was amazing in assisting with luggage.

The villa is impeccable... clean and beautifully decorated... worth each and every step leading up to this heavenly destination.

We loved living with the "locals". Amalfi and Ravello were great destinations... but returning each evening to our beautiful "home away from home" was fantastic... Nightly visits to Tutto per Tutti - wine shop and grocery located at the start of the climb - were most enjoyable - we became friends with the proprietors and received a friendly "hello" when seeing them on the street or in restaurants... Pizzeria Jolly was a favorite family-run local eatery.

June 2013 - We stayed at Villa Angiolina for a week in June 2013, and will have fond memories of our visit.

Julietta, the owner, met us near Tutto per Tutti (local market) when we finally arrived in Praiano. That was the hardest part - getting there from Rome - after traveling on the plane for hours. Patience is definitely needed. Julietta had a nice young man carry our luggage up the many steps to the villa, so that was a nice added benefit.

The villa was lovely - plenty of space - we actually had more space than necessary since it was just the two of us. It would be a perfect villa for 2 couples! The view from the terrace was phenomenal - we couldn't believe that every time we looked out that we had such an incredible view of the Mediterranean below us. The weather was perfect the entire time we were there - mid 80s for a high and 60s in the evening.

Praiano is a quiet little town but nicely situated between Amalfi, Ravello and Positano - these are all three cities that I would definitely recommend visiting. You can get there by bus or hire a driver if you don't have transportation of your own. We were glad we didn't rent a car - the local transportation was fine as long as you had patience waiting at times. Our favorite restaurant was at the Hotel Margherita - we ate on the roof twice during our stay - the food was very good and the view even better. Had the best Tiramisu we had ever eaten!

We cooked in several times at the villa - got everything we needed at the local market at the bottom of the hill - Tutto per Tutti. Had fun taking photos of our food creations and wine! For those who enjoy cooking and just hanging out, Villa Angiolina is a perfect place. We really didn't mind the steps to get there - take it slow and you're fine.

On the day we left, Julietta came to meet us with the young man to help us with the luggage down the steps. She even went down the hill to get our bus tickets for us since we had neglected to get them earlier. That was above and beyond the call of duty. She then met us at the bus stops and we said our farewells.

We had a wonderful time there and would recommend it to those that enjoy relaxing! (After walking up the steps!)

Travel tips

  • Do not rent a car, maybe a scooter for the brave.
  • Shop at Liz Art. They ship. The items we purchased arrived at our house the day we got home.

May 2013 - Villa Angiolina is exceptionally located and very tastefully appointed. We spent two memorable weeks in Praiano; we lived with the "locals" and ventured to nearby towns, enjoying majestic views and local cuisine and wines.

The view from the veranda of this villa is magical and we were so relaxed. The steps were a challenge but we just took our time. We felt very much at home and felt very welcomed by Julietta [the owner] and the town.

Villa Angiolina is a jewel and we truly loved our stay.

The booking with Summer was an exceptionally well managed transaction and communication was so easy and any question was answered in a very timely manner.

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed venturing out early, having an early dinner then coming back and relaxing in the evening. We prepared light meals with groceries from Tutto per Tutti and relaxed in the evenings.
  • Go to Nocelle, Montepertuso, and Ravello for meals and beautiful scenery.
  • Hire a private boat with skipper for an unbelievable coastal tour of the Amalfi Coast and Capri. We recommend docking at Marina Piccola in Capri then a taxi to Anacapri. The Marina Grande in Capri is like a carnival... very touristy. Or ask your skipper to dock at a lovely coastal restaurant for lunch... They know the hidden spots.
  • In Praiano we enjoyed La Brace and also the Vivaro wine bar (this is an experience --a one man show/ Gennaro does everything/ just tell him if you want meat or fish and he takes it from there... tiny little place but great ambiance).

May 2013 - Villa Angiolina is more incredible and more breath taking than even the pictures show.

The house itself is gorgeous, clean, well-stocked, and the views are literally the best we saw on our entire trip along the Sorrento and Amalfi Coasts.

We loved our experience with you all. You all were very responsive to all of our questions and were very helpful with regards to making contact with the villa owner. We had a great experience all in all!

Travel tips

  • Do not rule this place out just because of the stairs. They are good, sturdy, concrete stairs and they are well worth the hike. We traveled with my parents (in their 60s) and all agreed that we loved every minute of our stay here.
  • I would recommend you avoid renting a car entirely. Use the bus system (somewhat confusing but most of the grocery-type stores can provide tickets and schedules) and/or a driver as needed.
  • We both cooked at the villa (with supplies purchased daily at Tutto per Tutti) and ate out in Praiano and Positano. Some of the restaurants in both cities offer shuttles so just make plans in advance and request the shuttle pick you up at Tutto per Tutti.

April 2013 - Villa Angiolina was absolutely wonderful. My friend and I wanted a peaceful quiet place with lovely views and that is what we found at Villa Angiolina... and more!!

We especially liked relaxing on the terrace, listening to bells when the sheep across the valley were moved to new ground. And evening fireworks, and the flowers, sea and sky melting together. Oh and the perfume of lemons surrounding us.

Photos don't do justice to the views.

We felt very welcome in the neighborhood and the owner's family was fantastic!

What a lovely way to spend two weeks! We didn't want to leave.

You are great! Keep doing exactly what you do! I booked with you based on a recommendation from a friend in Amalfi who had heard about you. And your website is really good.

Travel tips

  • It is very important to be capable of climbing stairs. Some people should choose a different place if they are concerned. The stairs to the villa are not the only stairs to consider. The entire Amalfi Coast is an up and down geography.
  • The first trip up to the villa is the most difficult. It's easy to go slowly if you make friends along the way. And take a few photos. And relax with it.
  • We enjoyed the water taxis and little boat tours very much.
  • Praia Beach is very nice!

September 2012 - We loved Villa Angiolina and thought it was even more beautiful in 'real life' than the pictures depicted. Yes there were a lot of steps (162) but the views and the peace and quiet that awaits is absolutely stunning, and we never tired of simply sitting on the deck and gazing out to the horizon.

The house was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished with quality everything. It is hard to imagine that anybody could be left wanting anything as there was even an outdoor shower which was handy for washing off sandy feet, or merely cooling off.

The owner Julietta and her son were absolutely lovely and went the 'extra mile' for us by unexpectedly collecting us by car after an exhausting day of traveling by local transport, then chasing the bus along the Amalfi coast when one of my darling sons left his bag on the bus!

On arrival to the villa Julietta had provided fresh fruit and an assortment of fruit juices for the children - it was a most unexpected touch and greatly appreciated. In addition, for those of you, like myself, who only speak English, Julietta has been educated in England and consequently speaks it fluently which was another bonus.

For those of you who are worried about the steps and carrying your luggage - Julietta has a porter who does this!

All in all we really enjoyed our stay in Praiano, and in particular at this villa. Praiano is a much less touristy destination on the Amalfi coast and still manages to retain much of its charm - the locals are helpful and friendly.

We found the service provided by 'Summer in Italy' to be absolutely fabulous - thanks!

May 2012 - WOW...a dream vacation! We LOVED everything about Villa Angiolina.

Clean, beautifully decorated, and sensational views are just some of the many features that impressed us. We were pleasantly surprised at all the amenities that were there to make our stay so comfortable. It was better than a 5 star hotel!

It was so quiet, peaceful, and beautiful that we never wanted to leave. Our plan was to visit all the sights that the Amalfi Coast offers but we chose to stay at the villa and relax in the beauty we saw from the terrace instead. We were mesmerized with the Mediterranean Sea and sky that changed colors and looks regularly. The awe of the vista was out of this world. The steps weren't bad for us and they even added to the adventure.

We loved all the decorating details (beautiful linen and charming knick knacks) and the welcome treat of fresh strawberries and gelato.

Julietta [the owner] was wonderful... accommodating, personable, and a wealth of information.

Summer in Italy did a great job communicating and organizing all the details. We were very pleased with the complete and timely information we received. The online pictures and descriptions were accurate even though Villa Angiolina is even more beautiful than pictures can portray!

The BEST vacation ever!!

May 2012 - Our vacation could not have been any better. Villa Angiolina was perfect. Very clean and nice with no surprises when we arrived.

Julia (owner) was very nice and helpful.

The only thing we heard at night when sitting on the terrace was birds and a goat off in the distance.

I have already recommended this villa to friends.

We had a great experience renting from you. No hassles and you delivered on what you promised. Will rent again from you next time that I am visiting Italy.

Travel tips

  • Villa Angiolina was exactly as advertised and we had a fabulous time.
  • Having WiFi was an important feature to us.
  • Lots of stairs which was good to work off all that amazing pizza!
  • It was a perfect home base for our vacation and then head out on day trips.

We could not fault it in any way except for the l69 steps. They were quite a challenge as I am in my 80's but by the end of the visit they did not seem so bad.

The local supermarket was excellent, being very prompt about sending goods.

July 2011 - Absolutely a fantastic villa with a great view. Indeed, the steps are quite a challence in the beginning but surprisingly quickly you get used to climb them.

Many great restaurants in the village, some of them within a walking distance.

Julietta, the owner, was extremely nice and helpful.

Maybe the best thing, you can live like a local. Praiano indeed is not influenced yet by tourism like many nearby towns.

I have rented a holiday home from a number of dealers, but the service and helpfulness provided by Summer In Italy has been the best of all!

Travel tips

  • Use the Tutto per Tutti supermarket, the boys there will deliver your first big shop of a week's stay, so stock up on water etc. (they are also very helpful on just about anything, booked our day trip to Capri for us).
  • Go to Capri, do the Path of the Gods walk from Positano to Praiano or in reverse, (but get the bus to either the Positano or Bomerano starting points, otherwise a 1600 step climb for starters), go to Ravello, and have a day in Positano.
  • The Diva restaurant on the main road directly below the villa will drop you home after dinner, and the restaurant is excellent, as is its location.
  • I would always hire a small car, although driving is not for the faint hearted, there is excellent value parking at Ravello, and we went to Pompeii and Vesuvius one day (fascinating), but a car greatly increases your flexibility. However, take the bus to Positano or Amalfi.
  • Some days we ate out for lunch while out and about, and then had dinner at home on the terrace, with its spectacular views. You can get everything you need, food, wine, beer at Tutto per Tutti.

June 2011 - Villa Angiolina was a beautiful and perfect vacation rental. The Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths which made it perfect for my husband and myself and our son and daughter-in-law to have our own space.

The villa was very bright, clean and spacious. Once you stepped out onto the balcony you felt like you were in a dream... a perfect dream! The views were unobstructed, nothing but beautiful blue water and the blue sky.

Our daily ritual was to drink our coffee and relax each morning on the balcony and then at the end of each day we went out on the balcony to have snacks and drinks while watching the beautiful sunsets.

The owner was so gracious. Anything we needed, she was there. Of course the villa was fully equipped, you need not bring anything with you!

Now, about those 160 steps! My husband has problems with steps. When I told him about all the steps to get up to the villa..he said, "I can't do it". I said, "don't panic, I will help you". Well, once we got to the villa and looked out at the view he forgot about the steps! He decided it was so worth the steps to get to the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.

We have told everyone we know that they should rent Villa Angiolina on their trips to Italy!

This Villa is a real bargain. We would not hesitate to rent it again or tell friends about it. In fact we have told everyone that if they need any information about renting a Villa in Italy we can give them all the information they need. We loved it and loved Italy.

Travel tips

  • The owner is wonderful, speaks perfect English and will help or answer any questions.
  • The owner provided a porter to carry your luggage up to the villa and back down the day of departure.
  • The grocery market at the foot of the villa is wonderful. They have everything you might want and they will deliver to the villa!
  • Do not rent a car. We hired a driver and it was so easy and made our vacation hassle free.
  • We did take the local bus to a few places to eat or shop and that worked out just fine. You can buy your bus tickets at the little grocery market below the villa.
  • We love Liz Art and Ceramic shop. We bought some beautiful things and had them shipped home.
  • Day trips included a driver/guide. We enjoyed all of the towns along the Amalfi coast. I think Ravello was one of our favorite. Just a beautiful place for lots of pictures.
  • Food!!!! It was all good!

June 2011 - We had a fabulous time in Villa Angiolina. Julia, the owner, was very helpful and she spoke perfect English.

Both the villa and the patio area were much bigger than expected. The furniture was comfortable.

The views were stunning from the garden, the patio and the balcony.

Travel tips

  • We counted 522 steps from the beach, which was directly below the villa, up to the villa. There were ramps as well as steps, not everyone cope with that many steps. Having said that it was nice to not have so little traffic.
  • The beaches on the Amalfi coast are small, the mountains generally do go straight down into the sea.
  • Do not bring a car, parking is very expensive and the coast road (more or less the only road) is always choker-block, the traffic police have to direct traffic and it is painfully slow.

May 2011 - The views from the terraces and the balcony are absolutely stunning. Even if the villa was a hovel, I would have to give it 5 stars just for the view, location, privacy and serenity. But of course it's not a hovel, it's a beautiful, functional house built into the cliffside.

Yes, the 160 steep stairs are a bit challenging, especially at the end of a long day of hiking and carrying groceries and walking up from the car park, but my wife and I are 53 years old and in mediocre shape and we did it.

This place is a true gem and worth any minor inconvenience - don't pass it up!

Your service is fantastic! Such responsiveness to inquiries and requests. Why would I book through any other service?

Travel tips

  • A number of reviews say that the local market Tutto per Tutti has "everything you need" - sorry, but I disagree, the selection is dismal. Do yourself a favour and drop by an Auchan or other supermarket when you are out sightseeing for the bulk of your groceries.

October 2010 - This was a beautiful home. Absolutely spotless and the owner, Julietta, could not have been more helpful.

Booking the villa with you was a pleasure. Feedback was really excellent. We loved the tips for helping us to make the most of our holiday.

Travel tips

  • We would suggest that you carefully consider the steps that have to be climbed to get up there, there are over 160 of them and then another walk to the shops and buses.
  • It is no good having a car, ours stayed in the car park the whole week we were there, buses are the way to go as there is virtually no parking in any of the little villages, eg Positano.
  • The views from the terraces, there are 2, were magnificent.
  • The main bathroom was very good on the 2nd floor, the 2nd bathroom was very small and on the ground floor.
  • Look out for the lovely barber before the steps. He was always ready with a smile and a ciao.
  • The grocery shop at the bottom of the steps will deliver, a boon with all those steps to climb.
  • All in all a lovely spot to stay in if you want rest and relaxation or some exercise to take off any weight from your stay in Italy.
  • The nearest village, 10 mins away, had several nice restaurants and a good little market on the weekend.

September 2010 - Absolutely first class.

Stunning views... and beautiful sunrises.

Very comprehensively equipped (there was nothing we missed at all) and very tastefully decorated.

The owner, Julietta was extremely friendly and helpful.

Having a glass of wine or two on that terrace in the evening was magical.

We are looking at our plans for next year and will almost certainly book Villa Angiolina again.

Travel tips

  • The steps - 160 to the next level down, are not for the faint hearted... but a great way of getting some exercise each day allowing for more indulgence in the lovely Italian food and vino. Really not for babies, very small children or for disabled people. Blissfully peaceful for adults.
  • When you arrive, get your first lot of food shopping from the mini market "Tutto Per Tutti" ("Everything For Everyone"... and it really is great) before you climb up to the villa.
  • Julietta will probably arrange for someone to carry your bags up all the steps... worth every cent of the tip we gave!
  • If you are driving get the smallest car you possibly can and fold the door mirrors in when on the narrow coast roads!
  • Praiano is very quiet, except for the marina beach which can get full and noisy especially at the weekend. Amalfi is a lot more bustling. Positano is very very busy....too much for us.
  • Ravello is the most beautiful village around - a must see and worth the drive up the mountain.
  • Herculaneum is smaller, more picturesque and more manageable than Pompeii. Get there early in the morning... an hour plus drive.

September 2010 - We all loved Villa Angiolina: beautiful house with an extraordinary view.

We were happy to have chosen Praiano, because it was more peaceful and less expensive than Amalfi and Positano. The location was also good for excursions. The only thing we sometimes missed was a swimming pool, it was about 400 steps down to the beach...

The owner of the house was very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome.

I think your website is very good and informative. We were all satisfied.

Travel tips

  • You don t need a rental car. The local transportation were sufficient.
  • Besides the view from Villa Angiolina, I think Ravello was the most beautiful sight. We enjoyed Capri too,but some areas was very crowded. We visited Pompeii on the way home to the airport, which was a good decision when it takes time to travel on the narrow roads.

Travel tips

  • Villa is perfect with a spectacular view. Sun in the morning is quite bright on the patio and during the summer is very warm.

  • A well stocked market, Tutto per Tutti, is at the bottom of the steps and has everything you could possibly need, even wine.

June 2010 - The photographs and description on the Summer in Italy web site of Villa Angiolina do not lie. It was as we expected - beautiful. The villa is spacious, airy, bright, and clean. The views were panoramic and breath-taking.

Praiano is a sleepy little town that the tourist buses pass through on their way to Amalfi. It is certainly away from the crowds and a nice place to relax and enjoy the vista (from the incredible perch of the villa).

Julietta, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful and left us with strawberries and cold drinks in the refrigerator.

The much-talked-about steps were there but were of no concern to us as we went up and down sometimes multiple times in a day. They would be a challenge, or even a hindrance, to someone with physical concerns. We walked a couple times down to the beach taking steps the entire way - no road to contend with. We were told by a local that there are over 500 steps to get down to the sea but we didn't bother counting them.

The Tutto per Tutti - the little grocery store - has all the basics, groceries, wine, meats, cheeses, and more. Very friendly people there.

Summer in Italy was easy to work with, accurate in their representation, comprehensive with their information to us, and quick to respond to communications. We have no reservations about working with them again should we have the opportunity to rent another Villa in the future.

May 2010 - We thought the villa was lovely, private and clean. We did enjoy our stay.

You made the trip effortless... Thank you.

Travel tips

  • This is not a place for someone who has difficulty walking. The steps could seem daunting for some people I am certain.
  • There was wi-fi for an Internet connection, however there was no telephone.
  • If you are planning on using public transportation, realize that the schedule is not very accurate. Also realize that if a bus comes, it may not stop to pick you up. The local buses were more reliable in terms of picking us up. The SITA system was less reliable. Also remember that it is necessary to buy a ticket for the SITA bus prior to getting on the bus (from the villa it is a 10-15 minute walk to the shop that sells the ticket).
  • We found the local wines to be exceptional. And since there were no sulfites in them, there were no headaches the next day if you have such a sensitivity.
  • Our favorite restaurant was in Praiano... Hosteria il Pino.
  • We flew in and out of Naples...took the local bus outside the airport to the circumvesuviana train (10 minute ride) to Sorrento (90 minute ride) and the Sita to Praiano (60-90 min ride). On the way back, we were expecting to do the same, however it was raining and we were passed by 2 SITA buses (we waited for over 2 hours in the rain). Although we were aware that there would be adventures on the trip (and there were several), we decided that since it was the weekend and the buses seems quite full, that there was no real guarantee the next bus would pick us up... so we called a car service to take us to our Naples hotel (we stayed there the last night because our flight was at 6 am). In retrospect, perhaps we might have done that from the start... the cost was 80 euro, but we were so wet and cold that it was a relief to sit back and relax...(and since the car couldn't come for 90 minutes from when we called, we were able to have one last lunch complete with wine before our departure).
  • We went back and forth about whether to rent a car or scooter for the week... in the end, we decided to use public transportation... I think perhaps that we might consider renting one or the other next time. Parking is at a premium, so that is the disadvantage of a car... scooters are ideal if you have a comfort level to drive them... regardless, whatever you decide, you will have a wonderful time as long as you remember that some things are different... and after all, isn't that the beauty of getting away... Ciao Ciao

April 2010 - My wife and I spent a lovely week at Villa Angiolina with two 13 year old girls -- a granddaughter and grandniece. Quiet and serene, with an unforgettable view.

We enjoyed especially spending time on the terrace and exploring in Praiano, away from the tourist crush in places like Sorrento and Amalfi. Buying and cooking our food, hiking around the town and on trails up in the hills, and down at the hidden beaches and coves, all memorable experiences.

Our hostess, fluent in English, was courteous and helpful, providing a man to help with luggage in and out.

The house was immaculate. We felt like we were really living in the community.

Your service worked very well for us, and we would recommend it to anyone or use it again if we return to the Amalfi coast which I hope someday we will do.

Travel tips

  • We managed nicely without a car, taking the bus from Sorrento and otherwise along the coast.
  • The many steps up to the house are nice exercise for anyone in reasonable shape.
  • All the food you need is at the mini-mart at the bottom of the road.
  • Excellent food at reasonable prices at the Hotel Margherita restaurant a few minutes walk up the road.
  • Internet cafe and ATM in town served us well.
  • I was pickpocketed on the crowded Circumvesuviana commuter train between Naples and Sorrento, so watch out! Also be prepared for possible car sickness if you're prone to it on the bus, or in a car, on the narrow, curving coastal road.

September 2009 - We loved Villa Angiolina! And Praiano! So glad we stayed in a quieter village.

The villa is a beautiful home with beautiful views and so much charm. So much so that you could easily be swayed to just stay at the villa and relax, rather that going out to explore. Very well appointed, and great to have the washing machine.

Julia, the owner, was extremely helpful and kind, and even came to check on us after a night of storms.

Nice location in the village - close to the grocery, which has a butcher, fresh breads, a wine cellar, fresh produce, and anything else you would need/find in a grocery store. Villa is fairly close to one of the beaches and bus pick ups, as well.

Be prepared for many steps and walking hills in Praiano, and with this villa. Not for the faint of heart. But we actually enjoyed this aspect - helped us work off all of the excellent food of the area! We would strongly suggest the use of a porter for moving baggage up and down the stairs to the villa. Julia provided one for us for a nominal tip, and we were so grateful.

I'd like to come back with my family to this villa and live another blissful week or two in Praiano!

You are great! Excellent web site!

Travel tips

  • Use the buses! Cheap, safe, fairly clean, comfortable, and easy to use.
  • Ceramics at LizArt - beautiful pieces, artists working as you shop, ships purchases.
  • Great food and neat experience at Open Gate, and reasonable.
  • Don't be afraid to talk to the locals - they are some of the friendliest people ever! Many know some basic English. Ask questions and just make a bit of effort to speak Italian, and it will pay you back in spades!
  • Take some time to explore Praiano - it's just as nice, but much less busy, than some of the surrounding towns.

June 2009 - The villa was beautifully equipped and exceptionally clean and well maintained, a home from home. The steps were a challenge at first but we quickly got used to them.

The views are spectacular and we enjoyed many splendid hours dining and relaxing on the terrace.

The sitting room made a comfortable retreat in the evenings and we made good use of the local and tourist information provided when planning our excursions.

Travel tips

  • We were fortunate to have good weather throughout our two week holiday and visited many attractions on the Amalfi coast using public transport. We had hired a car but found little use as the buses were more than adequate and very entertaining!
  • The local shop will deliver and provides for all your culinary needs. The staff are very friendly and most helpful.
  • If you need a haircut Pasquale does not disappoint.
  • There are many good restaurants locally and we found Hostaria Il Pino was our favourite serving good food and wine.

May 2009 - We had a wonderful week's holiday on the Amalfi Coast and Villa Angiolina was even more spectacular then the pictures.

The owner of the villa Julietta was very accommodating and had someone there to help with our bags. She also had some fresh berries waiting for us and coffee for the morning.

The little store at the bottom of the stairs was wonderful and had everything that we needed, the owners of the store were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

The stairs up to the villa would be difficult for anyone with health concerns. We found them difficult at the beginning but quickly adapted and left Italy with shapely legs. There are 2 dogs on the way up to the villa that bark at you as you go by but they are behind gates.

The restaurants and the food was amazing and the people of Praiano were very friendly and very approachable.

I would definitely stay at Villa Angiolina again and highly recommend it.

The Summer in Italy website was very helpful and I would use it again to book accomodations in Italy, because I know there will be a next time.

Travel tips

  • The only advice that I would give is to go and enjoy. The villa is beautiful and there are so many things to do.
  • The boat tour to Capri was amazing and I would highly recommend it. : The restaurant Paradiso was very good and so was the Pirata.
  • The buses work very well so I would suggest not renting a car.
  • The Path of the Gods is an awesome hike but be prepared with the hiking guide from the Italy walking tours.

November 2008 - Once you finish the stairs leading to Villa Angiolina, you arrive to a villa with a view that is breathtaking in every aspect. Villa Angiolina is absolutely perfect in every way, a gorgeous home in Italy!

The accommodations are great, the home is so comfortable and invites the guest to just sit back and relax.

Julietta, the owner is so nice and pretty, and is so helpful in every way possible.

If you are looking for a place to relax that has some of the most beautiful views in the world, then Villa Angiolina is for you. Words cannot describe the jaw-dropping beauty of this villa, our only regret is having to leave!!

ENJOY!!!!

We appreciate all the friendly help sent our way to make our vacation the best ever!!!!! Summer in Italy is fantastic!!!! The descriptions were perfect, all the arrangements were easy, and staying in Italy was such a dream come true!!!

Travel tips

  • Be ready to climb some stairs, there are quite a few, but they get easier as time goes on.
  • Not many restaurants here, but the local grocery is great and has everything that you could need. Just try to stay at the villa as much as possible and soak it up!!!!

October 2008 - This was a superb stay. Meeting up with the English-speaking owner and being escorted to the villa (up 160 steps into the mountain) was flawless. She provided a porter to transfer suitcases, and this was essential. The stairs are a challenge. Don't underestimate them.

The villa was huge, spotless, and Julietta [the owner] even provided a few beverages in the fridge and coffee for our week.

The rooms are large and spacious - perfectly decorated, warm and inviting. The terraces overlook the Bay of Salerno with beautiful sunrises to begin each day.

The store at the foot of the mountain - Tutto per Tutti - was well equipped, with a beautiful meat counter and friendly butcher.

Villa Angiolina was the highlight of our trip.

I was fully satisfied with the communication from Summer in Italy, the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, the efficiency of the organization, and the quality of this villa. I would recommend this company and given the opportunity will use them again.

Travel tips

  • Julietta, the owner, works and lives nearby and is available for questions and assistance.
  • The store Tutto per Tutti can meet just about every need.
  • The villa location is perfect for visiting neighboring towns on the Amalfi Coast.
  • Praiano is a friendly town with hotels and some fine restaurants.
  • Views from the villa are amazing, and the privacy of the villa is enviable.

September 2008 - It was all that we expected and more. Stunning views with a wonderful terrace, we enjoyed spending a couple of days at home at the villa rather than sightseeing!

Very clean inside and out... we were very comfortable.

The hike up kept us in shape so we could enjoy the Italian food!

Just browsing on the Internet, we found Villa Angiolina. The pictures were wonderful and very accurate. A good description of the villa and surrounding areas helped. And the price was much more reasonable than villas in the other towns.

We had a wonderful time and would stay there again.

For any future guests our advice would be to make sure you that you pack light as the stairs are a bit of a handful, but you do get used to them after a while.

The villa was very luxurious by any standard.

Keep up the good work, Everything was very easy to organise and your guys where very easy to deal with. Will book with you guys again.

Travel tips

  • The Tutti per Tutti Shop is excellent and stocks everything you could wish for, fresh fruit & veg, beer & wine etc.
  • Get yourself a map of the lanes around Praiano as it is easier to navigate with.

July 2008 - Absolutely gorgeous! The villa is beautiful, the views stunning, the owner very helpful.

Yes, it is quite a climb, but all worth it. We really appreciated the help with our bags both on arrival and departure.

We also loved the outdoor shower, especially after the climb up at the end of the day after the beach. Mind you, if there were a small pool it would be priceless and you wouldn't want to leave. The parking spot was also worth it.

We loved every minute of our stay at Villa Angiolina and hope to be back someday. We will definitely recommend it to friends and relatives.

Travel tips

  • If you are staying in Praiano, we would recommend having a car so you can visit Amalfi, Ravello, Atrani, Pompeii, etc. at your own pace. You can even drive down to Marina di Praia, which is the better beach and park it there for a fee, or you could go to the beaches in Minori or Maiori. There can be quite a wait for the local Praiano bus. If going to Positano you should take the local bus and inside Positano take the local orange bus which is very regular. Being a family we preferred having the car.

April 2008 - Villa Angiolina was better than imagined. The best part of our busy day was returning to that great villa. We felt at home there and we made dinner there almost every night. Nothing better than waking up in the morning & pulling back the drapes to reveal that amazing view.

We were surprised to find small things like a chess set, CD player with American CD's, & a DVD player. There were also plenty of guide books by Rick Steves, Frommer & Fodors. There were even some soft drinks & snacks there for us when we arrived.

The steps were not that bad and actually became a fun part of the experience.

Julietta [the owner] was very nice & helped us out a couple times regarding where to get the buses and even offered a doctor for my wife when she got sick. The people in the area were very friendly & always offered a greeting when we walked by. The people in the Tutto per Tutti market were also very friendly and helpful when we needed help with food labels for instance.

Overall a great experience that we still think about every day since we've been back. It was above and beyond our expectations. Highly recommended.

September 2007 - The description of this beautiful villa as read in the Summer in Italy information did not adequately describe the beauty, serenity and comfort of this wonderful villa on the hill.

Yes, the climb up the 162 steps, count them, was difficult but gradually became easier to manage and the rewards of reaching the villa are absolutely wonderful.

You will love the experience, the people, the awesome location of this place. You will absolutely want to return to this oasis of beauty and peacefulness.

This was an excellent site to arrange this booking. Everyone was so helpful and answered even the most ridiculous questions.

Travel tips

  • Get familiar with the buses quickly, as these are really the best way of travel in this area. The orange bus will drop you off right at the little grocery store at the bottom of the hill, which decreases some of the climbing.
  • The owner of the villa was immensely helpful.

July 2007 - In July I stayed at Villa Angiolina with my seven year-old daughter and my brother.

We had a fabulous time relaxing and enjoying the views. Based on comments of previous guests, we chose to book the villa for two weeks. I'm SO glad we did. The views were spectacular, the villa much bigger and more comfortable than I imagined, and Julietta [the owner] was incredibly accommodating.

Praiano is a small town, so we had the feeling of really being a part of the community. The people of Praiano are very welcoming and made my daughter feel at home. Special thanks to Luca at the Tutto per Tutti for giving her games and toys. :)

Positano and Amalfi are in close proximity to the villa, so we had ample opportunity to experience shopping and nightlife, too.

Praiano and Villa Angiolina were tops on our six-week vacation. I hope we can return again soon!

Everything went very smoothly. I have recommended your website to ALL of my friends and family.

Ciao!

Travel tips

  • Travelling with a young child poses a few challenges. Avoid the long (and crowded) train, Circumvesuviana, and bus ride from Rome to Praiano. Instead, take the hydrofoil from Naples to Positano and then take the city bus to Praiano. We took the hydrofoil on the return trip to Rome and it was MUCH easier on my daughter.
  • I was on a pretty tight budget, so I found eating out to be quite expensive. Thankfully, Tutto per Tutti is at the bottom of the hill and stocks loads of fresh fruit, veggies, cheese, etc. Preparing meals at the villa was much cheaper than eating out and really allowed us to feel like we were more than just tourists.

The Amalfi coast is steps no matter where you go.

May 2007 - Villa Angiolina is a wonderful place with terrific views of the Amalfi Coast.

The villa is decorated and stocked more like a home than a rental villa.

The location is somewhat isolated because it is high up in the town not close to the beach or the center. However, there is a market that has everything not far from the bottom of the many stairs necessary to reach the villa.

The optional car park is a necessity if you are driving, since parking spaces are at a premium.

October 2006 - The pictures of the villa on the website are great, but until you actually see it, you can't imagine how beautiful it really is. The view is drop dead stunning.

The villa itself is well kept, the kitchen is well stocked, linens were in very good condition.

We hadn't planned to cook, but did end up preparing a couple meals and it was easy.

We sat outside on the terrace almost from the moment we would return from our excursions. It was just my husband and myself, but I think the villa would be wonderful for a family or a group of friends.

The owner, Julietta, is very kind and accommodating. She has a real gem in Villa Angiolina.

Summer in Italy is oustanding. I have already recommended you to two other couples.

Travel tips

  • Visit the tourist office in Praiano and get current schedules for the orange bus.
  • Use the orange bus - it can save you an incredible amount of walking and time.
  • Be prepared for the steps. The villa steps weren't that bad (we exercise a lot). Getting back from the beach requires some walking.
  • We liked Positano, but we went mid-week (no too many American tourists) and went twice.
  • Amalfi was overcrowded with the cruise ship and tour bus folks - we only stayed an hour and could have skipped that.
  • Pompeii is a must, but go early in the morning.
  • We had no car (and didn't miss it), but would think about renting one or a scooter to explore the coast east of Amalfi.
  • We had wonderful meals everywhere but went twice to Cala Paradiso (very friendly service) and Trattoria San Gennaro. The best seafood risotto was at the Open Gate Hotel restaurant.
  • Also, we loved Il Tutto per Tutti store! Luca (and his wife Rosa) are the most wonderful people.

May 2006 - Where do I begin? From the moment my husband and I arrived we felt as if we were living a dream.

The villa itself was above our expectations, and the people in Praiano were so welcoming. Julietta [the owner] was extremely gracious, but equally kind were the men at Il Tutto per Tutti, the local grocery store. We later learned they were Julietta's brothers-in-law. No surprise there. Kindness must run in the family!

Then there was Pasquale, the local barber. If guests need a haircut, Pasquale is their man. Our limited Italian, his limited English, proved no obstacle. We communicated just fine.

Of course Praiano was just the beginning. We visited Pompeii, climbed Vesuvius, marveled at the Greek temples built in 500 B.C. in Paestum. Then there was shopping in Positano, strolling through Ravello... we could go on and on.

But one day at Villa Angiolina, when I said to my husband, "Where should we go today?" he said, "Let's just stay here. There is no place on the Amalfi Coast more beautiful than this". We miss it so. We'll be back!

April 2006 - Absolutely wonderful. The residents of Praiano were very kind and helpful, going so far as to giving us a ride to a restaurant when we inquired as to the location. The owner of the restaurant then had his daughter give us a ride home.

The location and solitude of the villa was outstanding. Weather was nice with the exception of one rainy day which gave us a good reason to sit around and put together a puzzle.

Easy to travel to Positano or Amalfi to visit the "tourist" areas.

Julietta, the owner, was extremely nice and helpful. You got the sense that she truly cared that you enjoyed your stay.

Stairs were a challenge but you get used to it and it adds to the charm and the sense of solitude.

Also was nice to have a garage to park the car so we didn't have to worry about parking. Hope to return soon.

Excellent website, excellent communication. Paying in full up front saved us the added stress of hitting the cash machine before coming to the villa. Thanks for the great service.

November 2005 - We stayed at Villa Angiolina during our honeymoon in November 2005. It was the best choice we could have made!

The house is serene and private with beautiful rooms and incredible views of the Mediterranean and the surrounding mountains.

The parking space was also a great asset. It was very secure and we never worried about the car when we weren't using it to go on day trips.

We also loved Praiano and would recommend it over any other town along the Amalfi Coast. The people are wonderful and friendly and the town does not feel touristy. Everyone made us feel welcome, especially the owner Julia and her family.

We had a great time shopping at Il tutti per tutto and great conversations (and purchases) at the ceramic shop LizArt.

As for the stairs to the house, they are easy for any reasonably fit person.

I wouldn't change anything. I have recommended your website to many people since our return.

October 2005 - Villa Angiolina really is the perfect holiday hideaway, lovingly cared for by Julia [the owner].

The property itself is furnished and decorated to the highest standards and the views whether to the sea or the mountains capture you every time you step onto the terraces.

There are a lot of steps but you get used to them and how else are you going to enjoy such great views.

Work out your schedule for the local shop "tutti frutti" - little and often and it all falls into place.

Praiano is quiet but preferred to Positano which is on the pretentious side. Amalfi we loved. Tip - take the local bus - amazing views and a fantastic experience all for 1 euro fare!

Enjoyed the local scene too much to venture too far, so all the well known attractions will have to wait for our next visit.

Highly recommended.

You guys are about the best we've ever used. Information provided before trip was spot on and there's a genuine feeling that you really care about your customers.

October 2005 - I would like to inform you the visit to the Villa Angiolina was one of the best experiences in my life.

We actually met Julietta [the owner] at check in and her area information was very valuable.

Once the local bus schedule was figured out, we were able to travel locally within Praiano and the close by cities.

The views were spectacular and touring the Amalfi coast was a great treat!

All and all, a great experiece which we would hope to have the opporturnity to enjoy again. The Tutto per Tutti store is a great refueling stop for supplies and more.

September 2005 - We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Villa Angiolina. Although it is a climb to get there, it's worth the effort.

The villa is very spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The decks are beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The owner was incredibly nice and helpful.

Praiano was a nice location because it was easy to drive to all the coastal towns. We definitely recommend a stay at Villa Angiolina.

Summer in Italy was excellent. We were very impressed with how smoothly the entire rental process went. The emails and website were great resources. Thank you!

September 2005 - A beautiful Villa for the money. We totally enjoyed it.

The view was spectacular. The only down side was having to climb so many stairs but I guess that's what it takes to be halfway to heaven.

Summer in Italy provided excellent information and made it very easy to book the property. We would definetly book with you again.

August 2005 - Villa Angiolina is a great choice for people wanting to have magificent views of the Amalfi coastline, and sample some of the real character of the area.

The overall area is busy (we went in August), but Praiano has retained much of its charm. The local people are very friendly and the town not overly touristy. The owner and her family are very helpful and speak excellent English.

The Villa is magnificent - the inside is beautiful (with excellent air-conditioning), and the views over the sea and the mountains are fantastic.

It's not really suitable for anyone who would find all the steps a problem, but if you are reasonably fit, it's the best choice on the Amalfi coast!

Keep up the good work. From the initial contact we received helpful advice and prompt responses to any questions we asked by email. The website descrtptions are excellent, and we have already recommended Summer In Italy to many friends.

July 2005 - We all had a very enjoyable stay at Villa Angiolina the week of July 16-23, 2005.

The villa was very clean and well stocked.

It was very tranquil with a breathtaking view.

The surrounding neighbors were very friendly.

The pictures on the website prompted us to book this Villa. We highly recommend Angiolina although the stairs are a challenge for older guests.

July 2005 - My boyfriend and I spent an amazing week in July at the Villa Angiolina.

The view is stunning -- much more dramatic than photographs can possibly show, and the house itself is beautiful. It is also quite spacious. Though there were only two of us, four people could stay here comfortably.

Everything was very clean, updated, and in excellent condition. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was wonderful for sleeping.

Though there are a lot of stairs to get to the house, they're broken up by short pathways so you don't climb them all at once, and friendly cats will keep you company along the way. We left Italy in fantastic shape from all the walking we did!

The location of this house is wonderful -- right up against the canyon, with no house above or to the left. A relative of the owner lives in the house to the right. The owner speaks perfect English with a British accent, and she was so friendly and helpful.

There was water, soda, and fruit for us when we arrived, and she spent time telling us about the area and gave us her phone number to call if we had any questions. She even helped us carry our bags down to the taxi when we left. Because of the walk up, I would advise against bringing too much luggage!

It was hard to leave Villa Angiolina, and though it wasn't right in town (the bus stop and a great market are an eight-minute walk away), that was part of the charm for us.

If you're looking for privacy and unforgettable views, this is the place.

July 2005 - Villa Angiolina was absolutely gorgeous. The climb was worth it, and actually anywhere in the Amalfi coast would have a climb.

Make friends with all the kitties and talk to them as you climb, before you know it you are there.

THe a/c worked well as everything else did. Juila [the owner] is a sweetheart as well as the rest of her family. Laura in the ceramic shop showed my husband the way home the first night when he got turned around.

Get bus schedules and use the local buses. It will save many miles in walking.

July 2005 - We thoroughly enjoyed Villa Angiolina. I think it's rare that a villa is even better than what you expect from the decription on the website, but that's the case here.

The villa is very comfortable and the view is spectacular. As the description and reviews mention, you have to walk quite a ways to reach the villa, but if you're up for this walk and the many stairs, then you are in for a treat. I think it's also important for anyone staying here to realize you're not in the thick of things. Stay here if you want peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of more tourist-ridden places like Positano and Amalfi.

Overall, if you are looking for a relaxing villa on the Amalfi Coast (and don't mind the stairs), this is an excellent choice. And, to top it off, the owner is very nice, helping us carry our luggage to the villa and making us feel very comfortable.

Villa Angiolina contributed greatly to making this one of our best vacations ever.

Your website is excellent... very user-friendly. And once we booked the villa all of your communication came very quickly and smoothly. I especially like the way you can check availability immediately on the site. That's very helpful. I will recommend Summer in Italy to anyone I know traveling to Italy. Thank you.

May 2005 - Villa Angiolina was a beautiful villa with a spectacular view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

The villa was so peaceful and fully stocked for our enjoyment. The linens and kitchen equipment were more than we expected.

Julia [the owner] and her father, Luca, were so very helpful. We couldn't have asked for more.

The only drawback was it's proximity to buses to Positano and Amalfi. Buses didn't always arrive when stated in the schedule. Once we left for the day we didn't want to go back up to the villa because it was such a steep walk.

October 2004 - We very much enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return. The owner could not have been more helpful, plus she and her family were welcoming and extremely friendly.

The villa was as good or better than what we expected from the website... beautiful house and incredible views.

We were also pleased with the town of Priano, where everyone was friendly and which has the feel of a real-life town, not a touristy resort.

All in all, la vita was dolce at Villa Angiolina.

You have an excellent website... everything is clear and well-organized. I do think you should mention how well Julia [the owner] speaks English. I think that could be a big selling point, especially to second-language-challenged Americans... like us.

August 2004 - It was a marvellous stay for all.

Fantastic location, wonderful people and AMAZING weather!

The only disadvantage was the 162 steps up (we counted!) but it was worth the view at the top!

We will definately return to Villa Angiolina! Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)

August 2004 - We had a wonderful holiday here! The house is excellent and very well equipped.

The views are breathtaking, a pair of binoculars are a good idea for watching all the boats coming and going.

The terraces are very private for sunbathing and the outside shower is fantastic for cooling off.

The house has a really good air conditioning system!

The owner of the property speaks English. She is a lovely lady and gave us lots of information on the area, including the local transport and restaurants.

Armandino at the beach is really good for local food at a reasonable price and very friendly.

It is quite a walk to the house but worth every step of the way, you soon get used to it!

Enjoy!

Unfortunately, Villa Angiolina can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
