July 2011 - Absolutely stunning view and a great apartment for two. Access to the sea and pool is easy. Can't really find anything to pick on. The kitchen needs an oven and dishwasher but other than that the place is wonderful if a little rough round the edges but this is part of the charm in some ways. If it was in a different location I'd maybe be more harsh but the view from all the windows is sublime.

Dominic was a wonderful host too - exceptionally welcoming and helpful. A real asset to the villa in general.

Travel tips

  • Villa Cimbrone gardens in Ravello - simply out of this world.

July 2009 - We had a fantastic time and absolutely loved everything about the place. The setting is so wonderfully unique, and very luxurious.

The staff were also very helpful.

Anyone looking for a quiet getaway with breathtaking views, luxurious accommodation in an exceptional setting and private access to the sea - this is the place.

Travel tips

  • Bring your snorkeling equipment, or even just some goggles, and go looking for fish when swimming in the sea - they are right next to the promontory. Very pretty, and children would love it.
  • Swimming pool is not very big, but as the sea is right there it was not an issue for us.

June 2008 - Spectacularly beautiful location.

Friendly, laidback staff.

There are lots of steps just to get out of the villa complex but luckily the staff and taxi driver helped carry the luggage - because I couldn't have carried it up all those steps!

We were glad we were staying here rather than in Amalfi itself, which would have been much more noisy and touristy. It was about a 30 minute walk to Amalfi, mainly downhill.

Summer in Italy was very helpful and responsive - thank you!

Travel tips

  • Places we liked include: Ravello (including Villa Cimbrone which has a beautiful coastal view), Capri - especially the walks around the island rather than just staying in the town, and Positano, which we preferred to Amalfi.
  • The nearest grocery shop is about 15 minute's walk away, near Atrani.
  • Many shops shut on Sunday and shut from 1.30pm - 4.30pm every day.
  • Taxis cost a fortune (15 Euros just to get from the villa to Amalfi).
  • The buses come every 1/2 hour if you are lucky but they are often full so, if you get on, you may have to stand.
  • Be prepared to walk lots on roads which have no sidewalk/pavement and to climb lots of steps!

October 2007 - The suite's views and location atop the sea are what make it such a majestic place.

You wake up to the sunrise outside of your bedroom window, it is magical. If there is a full moon it arises from behind the mountain tops outside the windows of Suite Regina. It rests above the sea reflecting like glimmering lights blanketing the water below it.

The staff at the Villa are so warm and accommodating, with true generosity of spirit. They can arrange taxi service for outings, reservations for dinner, and general information about the area which is so helpful. If you have any needs they will do their best to accommodate you.

Travel tips

  • The Villa has a great location to many other towns and villages. You can walk to several within 30 minutes.
  • Buses are easily accessed and the walk to the town of Amalfi is pleasant and there you can find boats that take you to the many towns along the coast. We enjoyed taking the boats and found it to be a good form of transport.
  • Don't miss the small village of Atrani which is between the villa and Amalfi.
  • One of the best meals we had was in a small cafe/restaurant in Atrani. We also found most of the food wherever you choose to eat is fresh and delicious. You don't have to spend a lot or go to the more Chi Chi eateries, unless of course you want to celebrate a special occasion, by all means splurge!
  • We would recommend Sorrento, it is a beautiful city and as for shopping the most reasonable prices. You might consider taking a boat there and bus back as by boat you only have about 3 and a half hours which we found wasn't enough time, there is a lot to see and if you include a nice meal give yourself extra time.

May 2007 - It was fabulous! The staff was friendly, our suite was beautiful and the grounds and location unbelievable!

I made a slide show and sent to all my friends. They all are demanding info and I am sending it to them.

Thanks for a experience of a lifetime. We are world travelers and we rate this experience as close to number one as possible.

I was referred by a friend that had used your company. And I will continue on the recommendation to all I know who wants a fabulous experience.

Travel tips

  • You must visit all the surrounding villages also like Amalfi, Ravello and especially Positano. There are buses that run on the half hour for about one Euro. And some villages like Amalfi we walked to more than once. Just be prepared for a kind of scary experiences dodging buses and cars while walking, just keep an eye on what you are doing and you will be fine.
  • If you plan to spend time in Naples on the way (I wouldn't advise it unless you are going to Pompei) hold on to your wallets. It is a big not so clean city. With some interesting qualities but not enough for me to return.

May 2007 - We enjoyed it thoroughly. We spent a month in Europe, and our Suite Regina stay was the highlight. An 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.

The property and its setting are idyllic. But the "frosting on the cake" was provided by the staff: Piero's help with arrangements, and incomparable interpersonal experiences with Dominic. We felt like family members rather than mere guests.

Thank you for thorough professional arrangements, handled in a warm manner. I "stumbled" onto your web site while organizing our holiday. -- Our good fortune.

April 2006 - We shall certainly return! The whole thing was so easy - from organisation before we set off and directions for when we arrived, to our stay itself.

Piero and the staff at the villa were delightful, keen to help carry bags and provide whatever we needed, and the parking was very welcome as it can be so hairy on the Amalfi Drive!

Even though it was only April we were lucky it was so warm and sunny and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the bay was a pleasure every day.

The place is only a 20 minute walk from Amalfi or Minori and so convenient for everywhere, without being busy itself; in fact the main problem was dragging ourselves away from the villa at all!

The Suite Regina has such heavenly views you can forgive it anything and, actually, apart from the fact that the kitchen's a bit basic and the bathroom's a bit dark, it really is the perfect place to spend a restful break.

October 2005 - The Amalfi coast is as everyone knows a beautiful area - we wanted to find a place to stay which gave us an appreciation of this beauty. Suite Regina does that perfectly - you walk into the grounds of the villa and immediately you get the feel of quality and tradition. The location being right by the waters edge is perfect. We went down over 100 steps to the Suite Regina (with someone carrying my wifes heavy baggage!) and opened the window of the bedroom and then on to the balcony - we were speechless. It is perfect - the sea, the views and the sound of the waves right below us.

This combined with very helpful staff/beautiful eating area for breakfast/private place to park your car (you have to be on the Amalfi coast to appreciate this!)good local restaurants and you have a perfect holiday

We did and we are going to return - what better testimonial can you give.

We were very happy with the confirmation of booking and your ongoing and friendly advice.

September 2005 - Suite Regina is so beautiful. The views are out of this world. This villa has to be one of the best accomodations on the Amalfi Coast - you are literally hanging over the water.

The service was equally as great - Piero and Dominic will consistently make great recommendations and are always available.

No matter where you are on the premises the views are out of this world. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms very clean and comfortable.

The salt water pool is a real bonus - very refreshing.

I hope to visit Suite Regina again soon. As you can see from the website the pictures are beautiful, but the pictures don't even compare to this fabulous place in person. I highly recommend this property.

October 2004 - Suite Regina is one of the most wonderful places that my husband or I have ever stayed. The views from the bedroom and the balcony are simply amazing and we could see the sunrise from our bed every morning.

The grounds of the villa are magical - so beautiful and lovely to explore. The pool is very nice but we had great fun jumping in and swimming in the sea from the villa's jetty every day before breakfast.

It is such a romantic place and was perfect for our honeymoon.

Summer in Italy was very good. We booked with them after finding them on the Internet and reading the reviews. Everything went very smoothly and we would definitely use them again.

June 2004 - Suite Regina exceeded our expectations, which were high. The staff was gracious the views from Suite Regina were stupendous. We are so glad we stayed...we had peace and quiet and easy access everywhere. Actually, we walked into Amalfi and Minori for dinner. Suggestion: We ate dinner 3 of our 7 nights at L'Arsenale in Minori... Delicious, excellent service and reasonable. Suite Regina is a special place, very quiet, which is exactly what we wanted, but not isolated. If we ever return to the Amalfi Coast we will stay at Suite Regina again.

You have an excellent web site. When I typed "villas" and "Amalfi Coast" into Google, your site came up and when we read about Suite Regina and saw your photos and read the reviews, we were hooked. Nice job in every way.

October 2003 - Just back from two weeks at Suite Regina. The weather late September early October was perfect.

The suite is a delight, it is spacious and projects over the water at a height of about 40 feet. The view is spectacular and the grounds lovely.

We highly recommend L'Arsenale restaurant in Maiori. It is perhaps a mile away close to a parking lot. It is owned and operated by 4 brothers who provide excellent food and service. The real Italian dining experience lasting 3 or 4 hours. Don't use the menu, have a discussion with the waiter/owners; the chefs will probably come out and offer their suggestions.

September 2003 - Jessica and I had an unbelievable honeymoon. Suite Regina and the whole villa were truly beautiful. The views and the grounds were so unique and romantic.

The staff at the Villa was so helpful and kind in every way. We cannot thank you, Summer In Italy, and the folks at Suite Regina enough!.

What a once-in-a-lifetime experience, though we do hope to be back someday and will not hesitate to contact you when we do...The Amalfi Coast has got to be the most amazing place on earth!

August 2003 - Suite Regina is ideal for anyone looking for a romantic hideaway on the Amalfi Coast. The apartment is large and spacious, with a very regal (in a faded grandeur type of way) dining room/lounge. The apartment clings to the cliff so the balcony actually overhangs the sea and with the large windows open in the evening it is very restful to hear the sea gently lapping against the rocks. The complex is very picturesque sight as you drive round the corner from Amalfi, particularly at night when it is all lit up. The pool is small but there is easy access to the sea with a small jetty and there are very private sun lounge areas that nestle among the castellated terraces.

One tip - I would recommend the use of water taxi if you don't have a car and are going back up the coast. Our next stop was in Positano and for half the price of a car we were picked up from the jetty and dropped off at the hotel in Positano. It was easy and as the boat was a speedboat it was also good fun. If you don't have a car it is also worth noting that a bus stop is right outside the complex and so it is very easy to get into Amalfi or Ravello.

If you are a couple looking for an apartment with great views from every window, close to the sea and convenient for other trips along the Amalfi Coast then I really do not think you would find a better place to stay than the Suite Regina.

July 2003 - Suite Regina was idyllic, if ever you wanted to go somewhere to get away from it all then this is the place.

Our Suite had everything that we could have asked for and the staff were most helpful (and of great character!) whenever we required assistance.

Breakfast in the morning was a must, what better way to start the day than with Italian coffee and fantastic views.

May 2003 - Suite Regina is part of a complex located just to the east of the town of Amalfi, between Atrani and Minori.  Piero and Domenico met us at the gate and helped us into our room, Suite Regina.  Suite Regina is occupies the upper level of the tower, and is set right above the ocean, with water gently lapping below the window.  The spacious suite consists of a bedroom, a large dining/sitting room, bathroom, and fully equipped kitchen.  The suite is adorned with many antiques and local artifacts such as the colorful ceramic tiles the area is renowned for.  I enjoyed speaking my beginner's Italian, yet everyone was warm and friendly, and spoke English to help me along.  Some of Suite Regina's big advantages are the friendly guesthouse mood, the incredible history of the site, which has endured for centuries, welcoming many notable guests in the arts, politics, and sport, and most importantly - plenty of secure, on site parking, off the street.  Those of you who wish to rent a car to explore the Amalfi coast will realize this amazing benefit when you see how parking is a great problem in the area.  We felt our vehicle was totally secure behind the private gates of the complex, and there was always an open parking space for us.  Also, the accommodations are much less expensive and more private than other properties such as Le Sirenuse or Il San Pietro.  All in all, a beautiful, historic property, with friendly staff eager to meet any guest's needs.

November 2002 - Our honeymoon was fantastic! My wife and I agreed that Suite Regina was the most romantic, magical place either of us had ever stayed. The grounds were beautiful, the views inspiring, but our favorite feature was the fact that the doors literally opened out to the sea...we were lulled to sleep by the water every night.

October 2002 - This villa is a gem on the Amalfi coast. I would think there are few villas that are as charming and beautiful as this.

From gazing at the sea from your balcony to picking figs from their fig tree, the villa has much to be desired and is a perfect place for those who appreciate the history and style of Italia. It is like a gift waiting to be opened.

Unfortunately, Suite Regina can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
