Amazing view and location

May 2019 - Amazing view! If you want to be close to everything this is the spot. If you are wanting a quiet terrace with a 10 star view this is it again!

We ate out so the smaller kitchen didn't bother us and the great thing was if we wanted more room we could cook on the terrace!

The best shopping and restaurants are within walking distance but bring your step shoes!

Enjoy!

Summer In Italy was Easy, smooth, and took all the worry out of wondering what was next. What you see is what you get. Grazie!

Travel tips

  • Walking shoes! Definitely book the service for your bags.

Views were stunning

August 2018 - Views were stunning. We had the best time ever in Positano and Suite Antimo was PERFECT for us. We would highly recommend Suite Antimo!!!

Summer In Italy was a life saver!!! Luca and team from Summer In Italy were terrific. They were very responsive to any and every question I had when planning the trip of a lifetime. Very responsive and helpful in the planning process. Would HIGHLY recommend!!!

Travel tips

  • Be prepared for stairs, although very manageable but only if you don’t mind stairs. Actually they were very helpful to help work off all the fabulous food we consumed!
  • Take a small boat tour to Capri (only 12 people). It is VERY much worth every penny.
  • Make reservations at Restaurant La Tagliata for an authentic Italian food experience, music included!!
  • Schedule a cooking class somewhere.
  • Day trip to see the rest of the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi, Ravello).
  • For true "non commercial" wine tour, get a driver and arrange a wine tour to Abbazia di Crapolla winery. It was the best wine tour I have ever experienced. Contact Cristian at Swirl the glass. He was fantastic!!!

The location and the view are what make this place 100% perfect

October 2017 - In Positano, you will want to spend as much time outside as possible. The HUGE terrace, the location and the view are what make this place 100% perfect. Perfect for a couple or a single traveller who don't need a lot of indoor space, may want to home cook a breakfast and will enjoy having a glass of Prosecco on the terrace, laying back on the outside lounge suite to read a book in the shade or just pass the time watching the boats come in and out of the bay below you. The bed is extremely comfortable.

The host was prompt and friendly and very accommodating about check-in and check-out time. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. I hope to be back again and will recommend Suite Antimo to anyone heading to Positano. Grazie.

In all my years of travel I have never had such personal communication and great experience with an internet accommodation company before. Summer In Italy staff were always prompt with responses and friendly and willing to go that step further to ensure my stay in Positano was perfect. The 11 pages of useful information (yes, 11!) was over and above expectation. I will definitely look at booking through Summer In Italy again if and when I get the chance to return. (Soon I hope!) Grazie mille, Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • There are stairs to go up and down to get to the house so be prepared, but this is Positano - there are stairs everywhere.
  • Close to restaurants and cafe for your morning cappuccino.
  • A small supermarket (Latteria) is just a short walk away selling beer, wine, general groceries and serving prepared meals and panini for the beach.

Amazing view, stunning!

July 2017 - We stayed in Suite Antimo for 12 days. The best of all is the terrace, with its amazing view, stunning! You have a nearly 360 degrees view over the see, the town and the Spiaggia Grande. The house is clean and everything you need is available. The bedroom and living room have the air conditioning.

We met the property manager at the house and he showed us everything we needed. He was very helpful with tips for restaurants and day trips. Everything was perfect, thank you so much!

Thank you for your outstanding service, Luca. Everything went smooth and when I had questions you reacted very quickly with good tips. I will recommend Summer In Italy to my friends and business partners.

Travel tips

  • The nearest shop for daily needed goods is above the house (take the steps up to Viale Pasitea, turn right, pass the Caffè Positano and follow the street, 100 meters).
  • In close proximity there are a lot of restaurants, where we had great dinners at night.
  • To reach the beach, climb the steps down (about 250 steps - if I counted correctly :)) and you will reach the Spiaggia Grande. Other beaches easily reachable are Fornillo Beach and Da Adolfo (at Laurito Beach) - we did choose them when the main beach was too crowded.
  • For all the ladies out there, you can shop a lot of great stuff in Positano. For example: nice sandals with Swarovski crystals or linen clothes which are perfect for the hot temperatures in summer.
  • Positano and its surrounding is also famous for its outstanding ceramic with the typical pattern.
  • Trips by ferry or boat to Capri, Ischia, Amalfi, etc. can be booked at the port, which is directly beside the Spiaggia Grande.
  • If you stay at the beach all day, have a light lunch in one of the beach snack bars or restaurants.
  • For nightlife I recommend "Music on the Rocks" in Positano - it is literally a cave carved out of the rocks, with an amazing cliff edge terrace.
  • The Amalfi Coast's most famous night club is located in Praiano: the Africana Famous Club, created inside a natural cave, almost at sea level.
  • Positano with its charm will catch you at the first sight, we really enjoyed our trip. We will definitely come back!

Everything about the stay was perfect

June 2017 - Everything about the stay was perfect: house, host and the view from the terrace was one of the best in Positano! Suite Antimo was in a great location not far from the beach with everything we needed close by.

Travel tips

  • Mandara car park was perfect for leaving the car. The staff were great and gave us a good price.
  • Restaurants: Rada and Le Sirenuse are both amazing and worth the price to enjoy incredible food in beautiful locations.
  • Explore the coast don't just sit on the main beach! There are many hidden coves with beach bars and sun loungers at a fraction of the cost.

The terrace is beyond magnificent!

June 2017 - I've rented several villas in Positano and along the Amalfi Coast, and Suite Antimo was my personal favorite. The terrace is beyond magnificent! Having the ability to cook, wash dishes, do laundry and simply relax while outside on the terrace is amazing! It's enjoyable to watch the boat activity below. This house is perfect for one or two people.

I've used Summer In Italy several times over the past 3 years. Their level of service is excellent!

Travel tips

  • I enjoyed walking the 200+ steps from the center of Positano to the house, but you can opt to walk up 100 steps in the other direction to the main road, and meander into town that way, as well.

We will come back for sure!

April 2017 - We just stayed in Suite Antimo for 8 days and already missing it! This is the perfect location in Positano, close to the center, restaurants, shops. The flat is quite small, but with a nice bedroom and more than enough space for two. There is a huge terrace with a stunning view on the sea and Positano, almost impossible to find something better. It is a magnificent oasis of tranquility where to have breakfast looking at the sunrise and going to bed listening to the sound of the waves. The kitchenette inside is quite small, but you will have the opportunity to cook directly in a spacious kitchen on the terrace.

The property manager was really helpful, always reachable by phone.

We will come back for sure! All was perfect.

Travel tips

  • At about 200 meters there is a nice shop where you can find all you need.
  • Try the breakfast pizza! Actually this is not an usual pizza, but more a sort of delicious sandwich: you have necessarily to buy it!
  • Some restaurants are just above the flat: Caffè Positano and Restaurant Da Vincenzo. Even if the first has a better view, we went to Restaurant Da Vincenzo as we heard some local customers talking about it. It was delicious.

Can't imagine staying anywhere else

August 2016 - We had such an amazing experience at Suite Antimo. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

The view and the huge balcony are totally worth the extra cost compared to similar rental options in Positano. We cooked, ate, relaxed, and even slept on that balcony. The rest of the apartment is small, but totally sufficient and clean.

The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay including small fridge, stove, toaster oven, dishwasher, and clothes washer (you air dry the clothes).

It is a short flight of stairs away from the main road (Viale Pasitea) where there are several restaurants, shops, and a small grocery store very close.

Travel tips

  • If you arrive by ferry, walk straight ahead into town once you're off the ferry. Pass the church on your right and keep walking. Once you can't walk anymore (you hit a dead end with just shops in front of you), there is a staircase on your left. This is the 'road' that the apartment is on. There is a small sign on the wall to the stairs that marks it. Alternatively, if you go up to the front of the church and then continue up a road to the left of the church, you will hit the main road that goes through town (Viale Pasitea). Take a left, follow it up the hill until you pass Cafe Positano on your right. Just beyond that there is a staircase on your left - if you go down those stairs then go left down another set of stairs, you will see the apartment on the right.

It now feels like our second home

July 2016 - This was our second time staying at Suite Antimo and we will always book here when staying on the Amalfi Coast.

Getting a villa rather than a hotel was the best decision we ever made. It is incredibly private and perfectly located for everything you need. Yes there are steps but if you go to the Amalfi Coast and don't expect a few steps here and there you're in the wrong place. It's about 230 steps up, which take a bit of getting used to but after the first day you know what to expect. Make a game of it. It's always satisfying when you reach the house anyway.

The bedroom and kitchen are both fine and have all you need but you will never spend time in there. It's all about the outside terrace which is magnificent. If you're cooking in, you can do this outside on a great huge hob. We made several wonderful dishes outside and then sat overlooking the sea as the sunset. Magical! There isn't really a living room space. Again, the terrace is the living space. It's so much bigger than others in the area too so you feel like Kings and Queens. Shower always works and plenty of hot water. Easy to keep clean too.

It now feels like our second home and we can't wait to return.

Travel tips

  • It takes 2 minutes to walk down to the main beach (Spiaggia Grande) but we always elected to head towards Hotel Pupetto and use the Fornillo Beach. The staff are so friendly, lunch is always good and it's far less crowded.
  • Walk up the steps from Suite Antimo and turn right on the main street, a brilliant little shop with local wine, meats, grilled veg is about a 90 second walk. Again, super friendly spot.
  • At the top of these stairs, you are opposite the Restaurant Da Vincenzo and you should definitely stop here for lunch at some point.
  • Restaurant recomendations: La Tagliata, Il Ritrovo, Next2, Rada, Da Costantino, La Terra.
  • It also only takes two minutes to walk to the port where you can get boats to Amalfi/Capri very easily.
  • From Amalfi, you can there get anywhere you want. We would recommend at least one night in Ravello. Amalfi is a little more touristy but worth a stroll and lunch.

September 2015 - The terrace and the location of Suite Antimo are truly outstanding. The apartment is small but all we did when there was to use the terrace and sleep. We did not use the inside kitchen but rather the terrace gas range. Beautiful view and location!!! The apartment was clean, the terrace was our focal point when home.

August 2015 - The terrace was excellent in terms of space and the view was beautiful over the sea and over Positano. Essentially other than sleeping we spent our whole time at Suite Antimo on the terrace. We ate out so didn't cook there. The whole apartment seemed tired. It must have been stunning when new but now needs upgrading. We did enjoy our stay however. This was our second holiday in Positano and we really love the town.

We found Summer In Italy very pleasant to deal with and extremely helpful. We particularly liked the email newsletters with tips about Italian living!

Good

May 2014 - Suite Antimo is lovely and in the summer, when you live outside most of the time, it would be perfect.

We were unfortunate to have rather bad weather for our week, and given that the emphasis is on outdoor living, we were really stuck when it rained and was cold. The house is not suitable for being in at that time, we were cold at night despite the extra blanket and there is no space to escape to.

The balcony is of course beautiful and we enjoyed it when the sun was out. The position is good and although we were very happy in that it wasn't at all noisy.

Travel tips

  • A lot of steps! Be prepared for a workout and bring your comfortable shoes. I did not put my high heels on the whole holiday.
  • The restaurants are mostly good but we particularly enjoyed Restaurant Le Tre Sorelle and Restaurant Guarracino.
  • A day trip to Capri is easy and worth it.
  • Ravello is beautiful as is Amalfi, but Amalfi is packed with tourists. Very busy indeed.

Fantastic

August 2013 - My wife and I spent our honeymoon in this villa this August (2013) and it was the most perfect vacation either one of us has ever had! The staff at summerinitaly.com (Gaetano, Luca) went way above and beyond to help us with the reservation, and when the airline lost my luggage, they made contact to help us locate the missing baggage. They've always responded to questions in a very timely fashion.

All-in-all, the villa is very small. But let's face it... you aren't going to want to rent this to live indoors. The terrace provided the most incredible views of Positano and the sea along with the many sailboats and yachts that come to enjoy this very unique town. The villa itself has everything you'll need, from a kitchen out on the terrace so you can admire the view while preparing dinner, to a washing machine and even a dishwasher. Air conditioning made sleeping at night very enjoyable.

Mr. Antimo [the owner] was very pleasant and kindly showed us how everything works. I would highly recommend both the villa and Summerinitaly.com. My wife and I plan on returning very soon... maybe for an anniversary celebration.

Travel tips

  • Unless you're an adventure seeker, I would recommend getting a car service to drive you to Positano from the airport. We used airportcityservice.com. Their drivers were very professional and their cars immaculate.
  • At the top of the steps leading from Suite Antimo to the main street, there's a restaurant called Cafe Positano. Get the lemon filled croissants or the chocolate filled pastry. These were our breakfast of choice while there.
  • For dinner, I found the food at Restaurant da Vincenzo better and the wait staff more pleasant than at Cafe Positano.
  • Be prepared to walk and climb stairs. It is 101 stairs to the main road and a couple hundred to go down to the beach. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the right villa for you as there are other villas and hotels located on the main road that would be easier to navigate.

August 2012 - Suite Antimo is exactly as advertised.

We stayed here for a full two weeks so we really got to know the place.

The interior space is small but we found the bed comfortable and the A/C worked very well. The walls are so thick that the bedroom was soundproof and allowed for some great sleep.

The selling point of Suite Antimo is of course the terrace, it is perfect. It is partly covered providing shade and privacy and is part open so you can enjoy the sun. It is right in the middle of tons of other terraces but yet still felt very private.

Thanks Luca, everything was perfect and as promised.

Travel tips

  • Local produce is very inexpensive so head to the market down in the plaza and pick up some fresh stuff and enjoy cooking out on the terrace with a bottle of wine or two.
  • We happened to be there while the moon was full and fireworks were almost nightly in Positano or the next town.
  • There is a washing machine so you don't need to pack too much but be aware the machine is small and takes about 3 hours per load, the owner provided laundry soap.
  • The most enjoyable things during our trip were kayaking with Positano Sea Kayak, renting a rubber boat and eating, eating, and eating.

Very good

July 2012 - We stayed for a week in this funny place in Positano.

It is in an excellent location. 250 steps down to the beach and 100 steps up to the road.

The accommodation on first appearances is minimal. It is basically one long narrow room with the bedroom at one end, through a door. A kitchenette and small dining table in the middle and a bathroom (with a sliding door) at the other end. But opening onto the terrace is amazing. It would be about 4 times the size of the living space, half under cover which is necessary in the June heat. There are loungers and recliners, tables and plants and a fan. Also outside is another 4 burner cook-top, a dishwasher and washing machine.

The views from the terrace were to die for. Overlooking the beach of Positano, with 180 degree views of the Amalfi coast.

Needless to say we lived on the terrace, going inside to sleep. Watching a full moon rise and the reflection onto the water is a memory I’ll never forget.

It’s not cheap but the view and the lifestyle is worth every penny.

Travel tips

  • The views from the terrace are spectacular. It is 250 steps down to the beach and 100 steps up to the road and so very central.
  • The little supermarket at the top of the steps is pretty comprehensive and with friendly owners.

May 2012 - We loved our time staying at Suite Antimo. It had everything we needed and more.

Mr. Antimo [the owner] met us when we arrived and was very welcoming.

Mr. Antimo: don't change a thing -- it is perfect!

Thank you Summer in Italy your information and instructions were very helpful and easy to follow.

Travel tips

  • The steps up from the beach kept us fit and guilt free from all the amazing food we ate eat night.
  • Another bonus is that it's a short climb to Restaurant Da Vincenzo which we kept going back to for the wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and food.
  • If you don't like steps, it's not for you! Stay on the other side of Positano. But we would definitely go back to stay if we ever get back to beautiful Positano.
  • Catching the local bus from Bar Internazionale, when we arrived with bags, was a good tip.
  • If you are walking from the top (bag free) then there are lots of stairs that give you shortcuts along the way, it reminded us of snakes and ladders.
  • I strongly suggest buying a town map that has all the steps on it.

August 2011 - The apartment, though extremely tiny, was sufficiently well-equipped. The huge terrace with its to-die-for view was superb, with lots of seating choices and the outdoor kitchen is a genius idea. Also appreciated the option of having shade or no shade on such an expansive terrace.

We were very happy with the communication and service from Summer in Italy. Stumbled on it while looking for accommodations in Positano, and will definitely use again. Would recommend Suite Antimo for couples, on the basis of that fabulous terrace alone.

Travel tips

  • Suite Antimo is well situated, close to both shopping and the beach.
  • Cafe Mediterraneo and Next2, restaurants close by, are both above the standard fare at most restaurants in Positano.
  • Hiring a boat for the day is easy and fun, and trips to Amalfi and Ravello worthwhile.

  • The best beach is Arienzo beach, a family run business with very good home cooked food. The family who run it are very welcoming and delightful. It is across the bay and reached by a free shuttle boat which is all part of the fun.
  • We really liked Restaurant Il Capitano which is very close by above Suite Antimo with great views.
  • Positano is the land of steps - there are 240 down to the beach below and Suite Antimo is as near town centre as you can get. However, it adds to the charm of the place.
  • We did not hire a car and am glad we didn't. The roads are very narrow and there is virtually nowhere to park. Positano is clearly not built for cars. However, it is built for boats! You can get a boat to anywhere. You can go on boat tours or hire a fast boat yourself. The Positano Jet boat does three trips to and from Capri a day which takes 30 minutes. Its a good day out with walks to be had in Capri. Boat spotting is also fun from the terrace on Suite Antimo and I am glad we bought binoculars (use 'ship finder' app as well and you get hours of fun - by the way you get fast 3G connection would you believe it!).
  • Whilst the apartment sleeps 2 it is easy to entertain more as the huge terrace has seating for at least four if friends are staying nearby.
  • There is a little store very close by where you can get food and basics along with a delicatessen.
  • We were given advice on how to get to Positano from Naples airport via public transport. This is probably very useful. However, after a long journey which involved not sleeping the night before we really just wanted to jump in a taxi. We made a mistake by using one at the airport. Do not do this as this will cost you 150 and it will be a rickety old car. The roads are mountain roads with many hairpin bends. Its actually a beautiful journey. We organised a pre-booked taxi on the return which cost 95 but was absolutely fantastic. The company is www.airportcitytransfer.com. They arrived bang on time in an air conditioned Mercedes people carrier.

June 2011 - We really enjoyed our stay and the Suite was perfect for what we wanted, in particular the outdoor experience and lovely views.

It is not suitable for children due to the height of the terrace but is perfect for a couple who are reasonably fit (due to steps down to the sea).

We would recommend this Suite to any couple looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful place.

Travel tips

  • Know that there are quite a lot of steep steps when coming back from the beach or town.
  • Enjoy the terrace life and use the facilities in the Suite and eat in some evenings, it is beautiful to look at the view in th evening (and saves money). Then just walk down town for a drink!
  • Get a boat to Amalfi and a bus from there to Ravello, lovely mountain village.
  • Spend a day people-watching in Capri, boat from just below the Suite near the beach.
  • We enjoyed Restaurant Chez Black near the beach.

October 2010 - Suite Antimo was amazing. The terrace is huge and we loved the outdoor kitchen and sitting area. We cooked in every night and the view were awesome.

Even if you didn't have the greatest weather the outside is half covered so you would be fine. It is close to everything and great restaurants. Most beautiful place we have ever been and the place made our trip.

The gals that run this site are so helpful and answered all of our questions. Thank you so much for making our trip fantastic

We will definitely book again -- thanks so much

Travel tips

  • The people before us left notes on places to eat and so did we and rated them. There is the mom and pop restaurant just to the left up the street called Restaurant Saraceno D'Oro, it was amazing.
  • We didn't eat at the tourist places on the beach -- there is enough local places to eat at that are fabulous.
  • We just took the local ferry to Capri -- not the tour -- beautiful boat ride and worth it.

September 2010 - The apartment was absolutely gorgeous and the view from the balcony was breathtaking.

The range of furniture on the terrace was great and the kitchen was well equipped too.

The location was perfect - close to the shops, restaurants and the beach.

We had a fantastic, unforgettable honeymoon!

We booked with Summer in Italy because of the quality of the apartment, location and website. The staff were very friendly and helpful in their emails and we are extremely happy with the experience we had. Thanks so much Summer in Italy team, and all the best!

Travel tips

  • Just relax and enjoy! We were perfectly happy just sitting on the terrace, reading and watching the ships go by, watching the sun and the moon rise over the hills and soaking up the atmosphere.

August 2010 - Suite Antimo exceeded our expectations. We felt that the quality was well aligned with the price (which is a bit more than we usually pay). The terrace is a dream.

We have stayed in Positano several times before and seen a variety of different lodgings, from hotels to apartments. We appreciated that Suite Antimo has a certain simplicity (decor etc.), but at the same time is very well equipped (kitchen items, dishwasher, washing machine, hair dryer, towels and paper goods provided, even beach towels although we had been told specifically not to expect that so we brought our own).

The physical condition of the place is excellent.

Back on the terrace, it can be quite warm under the covered area, in hot weather (maybe it's possible to install a vent overhead that can open and close?)

Our overall impression is very favorable.

We very much appreciate how communicative, professional and thorough you are. The fact that you ask for this feedback is impressive.

Travel tips

  • Be aware that it's 100 easy steps down from the Via Pasitea, near the bus stop (and the very handy latteria to buy food etc.), or 250 strenuous steps up the back way from the port.
  • Inside is quite compact, so there isn't that much seating and 'hanging out' space -- you won't miss it except maybe hot mornings, but you have to keep things organized. While a 1-bedroom 'suite' sounds like you could have a child or another guest on a cot, there's no space for it. However, you could have a sizeable cocktail party on the terrace!
  • Don't count on Internet access. I was able to connect to one WiFi provider with short-term subscriptions, but the signal was very intermittent and only worked from the edge of the terrace.
  • Be sure to water the plants, especially the tomatoes! You will reap the rewards.

June 2010 - We loved it and would return in a heart beat!

Our only complaints are the scant kitchen equipment -- only 2 sets of everything. We would like to have stacked the dishwasher but instead had to wash up after every meal, even between courses! The kitchen is very poorly equipped over all. Not even a coffee pot or a kettle!

And there is no SKY TV - the tv is only Italian and should be international.

But everything else was great!

We searched the web and thought Suite Antimo suited our needs. It is private, has a great view, is far enough away from the village re noise but not too far. We love Italy, especially the south. Summer Italy, you were EXCELLENT to deal with and we will use you again. Thanks for everything!

Thanks for letting us know about the kitchen equipment, Alan! The kitchen has been stocked, and your good advice prompts us to set a reminder to prospective guests staying at any of the properties we represent: if there is anything that is missing from your apartment do let us know. In principles, kitchen items should not go amiss and most maids notice and arrange for replacements. In practice, on occasion it might happen that the equipment in a private home is not up to par -- but don't live with it, this is easily corrected and we will be happy to arrange for missing items to be brought to the property. If you don't have a phone or don't care to call, just pop into any Internet point to send us an email. We will take action and follow up for you. You can even send email from the new generation of public phones, albeit nowadays it is easier to find an Internet point than a public phone :-)

We will work the details while you enjoy your stay, we just need to know!

Travel tips

  • Cafe Positano on the main street above the villa serves the best steaks imaginable and the view is breathtaking.
  • Take a trip to Ravello - it was the highlight of our outings. It is a very restful place and good for the soul.
  • You don't need a car. Catch the ferry or a bus or walk - a car is a liability.

Unfortunately, Suite Antimo can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
