September 2010 - Casa Violetta was a delightful experience. Our view and the unit were better than the online photos convey.

Very happy with your site. It was just chance that I found you.

Travel tips

  • Be aware that the unit is part of a family's home. If you are bothered by the sounds of happy children this may not be for you.
  • Traffic noise starts early in the morning since it is on the main street.
  • The walk to the heart of Positano is about 3 minutes but tricky until the sidewalk appears.

August 2010 - We had a wonderful time at Casa Violetta. The family, Baldo, Franco, Celeste, Gabriella, Federica and Tiziana were just delightful. They made up feel right at home.

We have a young boy who grew very fond of the children, and I believe they were also fond of him. Such a close bond was built in 3 weeks, that our 5 year old son cried when we departed the premises.

We had such a lovely stay, they are so hospitable and I would recommend the apartment to anyone. We would love to go back there and stay again, hopefully in a few years time.

Your site was easy to use and we will look to book with you again in future.

Travel tips

  • I wasn't aware we needed to walk on the road to the town of Positano, so at first was quite alarmed, however you just need to be cautious, especially having a young one, but the drivers look out for walkers, and walking on the road is very common. We just aren't used to it.

August 2009 - My family and I had a wonderful stay at Casa Violetta. It was a wonderful location, with a spectacular view.

The owner was also very helpful and accommodating.

I would love to come back.

Travel tips

  • The deli in the centre of Positano is great for lunch and is inexpensive. Very helpful owner. If you buy alot and can't carry it all, they will deliver it your door which is incredibly helpful considering all the steps and the walk takes a good 10 minutes.

July 2008 - We really liked the apartment, especially the location, which we found perfect. 10-15 minutes by foot to the port and the restaurants, and about the same to reach the excellent nearby Arienzo beach.

We were actually glad that the apartment was situated a bit up and away from the hustle and bustle of central Positano.

And the very best thing was the air conditioning. Wouldn't have survived without it!

The apartment is simple, but has everything you need, including an excellent terrace with a magnificent view.

Travel tips

  • No need to go to the beach in the centre. Use Arienzo beach instead. Turn left outside the apartment and walk for 5-10 minutes. Then you will see the stairs and and a sign saying beach/spiaggia. Follow the sign and let the steps lead you to a great little beach that has a public part which is free, and a part which offers sunbeds, umbrellas and shower/toilette facilities for a reasonable fee, and a bar/restaurant that serves excellent lunch meals.

October 2007 - We enjoyed Casa Violetta. The location was excellent, a pleasant walk from the town and the beach/marina/restaurant area.

The large balcony provided stunning sea views and a very relaxing space.

Travelling along the coast can be done by boat or bus - the SITA bus network is a great experience!!

Summer in Italy was excellent! We found the site on the Internet and the service was very professional. However I would not recommend the Holiday Inn in Naples. It was in the 'business district' where everything closed down in the evening.

September 2007 - Casa Violetta is a nice place to stay in Positano!

This was our second trip to Positano. Positano is a beautiful town with great views and good restaurants. As Positano is built on a cliff, everything is accessed via sloping roads and/or many steps. Casa Violetta is about 400 vertical feet above the town itself, and there are about 30 steps from the street up to the apartment. People in the area are very friendly, and we enjoyed dining outdoors at the many excellent restaurants. Seafood is the specialty there, and it is always fresh and well-prepared.

The view from the villa is fabulous, and we loved the beautiful terrace! The owners are pleasant, responsive, and accommodating.

The bed and pillows are quite comfortable, and the apartment is extremely well-maintained. The kitchen is small, but well-equipped, and it was easy to do the little bit of cooking that we wanted to do in it. However, the refrigerator is a small, dorm-sized one that doesn't get very cold, and its freezer only freezes something that is directly on its shelf and takes a very long time to do that.

The only real problem with this place is that there are very loud children and other neighbors. Sounds from upstairs and next door are very well heard, including chairs and furniture scraping the floors, people running above your heads and along the corridor next to the apartment, and children crying and screaming from very early in the morning, but this really only bothered us in the mornings because we were away enjoying the beautiful area or outside on the terrace at most other times.

I can and do recommend this apartment in every other way!

Working with Summer in Italy was very pleasant! You were very helpful and responsive, and we were confident that we were being well taken care of by your company. We also loved the personal touch. We booked through you because we found apartments in which we were interested on your site which we found through a Google search.

Travel tips

  • We found a little "pebble beach" up the road from Casa Violetta that was reached by about 290 steps, and it is much less crowded than the main beach in town.
  • Many of the businesses in and around town observe the afternoon "riposino pomeridiano" (siesta time) from around 2:00 or so until 4:30 or 5:00, so plan your time accordingly.
  • Public transportation is easily accessed and widely used in town, along the coast from Naples to Sorrento, and along the whole Amalfi Coast. The Circumvesuviana train runs regularly between Naples and Sorrento, stopping at many cities along the way, as well as at Pompeii and Herculaneum. The "SITA" buses can take you from Sorrento all the way to Amalfi, and there is a little city bus that will take you through and around Positano and/or up to the neighboring villages above the town which are also fun to visit.
  • You do not need a car, but be prepared to do a lot of walking in this wonderful, beautiful town.

September 2007 - Yes, we enjoyed Casa Violetta. It's a long walk into town, 17 to 20 minutes.

The apartment is quite spacious but noisy due to barking neighbours dog and children living in the apartment above.

We found Summer in Italy very informative and helpful.

August 2006 - We thoroughly enjoyed Casa Violetta. Your photographs did not do it justice - all the rooms were bigger and brighter than they appeared on the photos and the balcony was excellent, particularly as it can be accessed from both living and bedroom.

The bathroom was a bit old and dingy, but adequate nonetheless. The air-conditioning was very welcome. The accommodation was very clean and essentials/heavy items were provided e.g. washing-up liquid, washing powder, kitchen rolls, condiments, tea/sugar, etc.

The accommodation would not be suitable for anyone who was not fit or who had difficulty in walking as the walk into the centre and to the beach was uphill. (However, it's a good way of keeping fit for the able-bodied and we enjoyed the exercise).

July 2006 - It was much as we expected. Quite old inside but we knew that before we went. Spotlessly clean and well furnished. Nothing was missing.

The owners were really friendly and made sure that we had water and a few basics when we arrived.

The only negative thing I would say is that I don't really feel that it is big enough to sleep 4. Perfect for 2 and 3 at a stretch, but not 4. We had a wonderful time in Italy. Positano is beautiful.

We are hoping to visit again next year and I have no hesitation in booking with you again. The information you provided was excellent. We made our own way by public transport to the apartment thanks to the very detailed instructions you gave us. Thank you very much.

June 2006 - Casa Violetta was spacious and clean. Also, had an amazing view of Positano and the sea. Very quite and peaceful at night.

Only problem was very slippery shower condition and very noisy from upstairs during the day.

Overall would definitely stay at this location again.

Summer in Italy was great! Directions were great, we had no problems finding the place.

October 2005 - We enjoyed Casa Violetta very much. It was a little way from town but that was good. We didn't mind the walk.

The view from the terrace was absolutely beautiful. We spent many evenings sitting on the terrace eating our dinner and enjoying the view.

The kitchen was much more equipped than we thought it would be. It was very easy to cook meals.

The owner was very nice and helpful. The entire town of Positano was very friendly and we very much enjoyed our stay.

We would definitely stay there again.

October 2005 - We truly enjoyed the location and view.

Signora Luisa [the owner] was fabulous. She helped us when we needed assistance due to our luggage being lost by airlines.

Despite the rainy weather, our stay in Positano was the highlight of my vacation. I loved it and would return to Cas Violetta in a moment.

Only problem was the many steps up to our villa. I traveled with my mother who has bad knees. But, I enjoyed the workout. Ha Ha.

September 2005 - Casa Violetta was a wonderful experience. The location was far enough a way from downtown Positano to relax and not feel overwhelmed by the tourist tempo.

The smaller beach near the villa was our preference over the main Positano beach.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

Summer in Italy did a fantastic job of making our vacation special. Your staff was helpful in answering all our questions about the area, transportation, and the accommodations. Thank you.

October 2004 - Casa Violetta was very enjoyable. Excellent location in Positano as it is probably one of the few villas that did not have any steps to go up. Ideal for elderly people

We came across Summer in Italy on the internet by chance. All dealings were very professional and information made it very easy for me to book.

I would not hesitate to use Summer in Italy again if booking similar accomdation and would also recommend it

September 2004 - Casa Violetta was a lovely apartment with a sensational view of the coast. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable.

The only real negative was that it was quite a walk from the town centre, though proximity to the bus stop fixed this.

May 2004 - Casa Violetta was an excellent choice for our group. Everything met or exceeded our expectation. The view from the terrace was amazing at all hours of the day and night. The villa was located not too far from the center of town and from the main beach.

The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and even arranged car services for us.

We'll definately be returning to Positano in the future, and Casa Violetta as well.

Summer In Italy was a great pleasure to work with. The staff was helpful and friendly. I felt fully prepared an informed about everything each step of the way. Prices were very reasonable and the propertys are top notch. I have recommended Summer In Italy to several other individuals... and will continue to book with the company in the future! Thank you Summer in Italy!

March 2004 - I think Casa Violetta is an excellent value for the price.

It is within walking distance of Positano town center and the bus stop is right around the bend.

There is a small grocery store nearby and a deserted beach area nearby too (down many steps).

Casa Violetta may not be practical only for those with walking impairments as you have to walk on the main road to get to town and bus stop and it is not well lit on the road at night.

The apartment was spotless clean and had a wonderful porch area above the main road with a view over to Positano and the sea.

The owner was very helpful and spoke English well, lives in the building, but didn't intrude.

I would go back tomorrow and stay in this apartment again!

I think Summer In Italy is a wonderful agency to deal with, you have clear instructions and are reasonably priced.

July 2003 - Casa Violetta was a great apartment for a holiday let, although I would not recommend it for a family with children as the property is right on the main road and the walk into the centre of Positano takes about 20 minutes.

The views from its spacious verandah were fantastic and owners very helpful and friendly. The apartment was very clean and with the air conditioning on, very cool too.

June 2003 - I want to tell you that we had an ABSOLUTELY wonderful time in Positano.  It is by far one of my favorite places on earth!

Casa Violetta was wonderful, everything that we expected and more!  I was pleased to find the villa to be exactly what you had advertised.  It is sometimes difficult booking on the internet because you are unaware of exactly what to expect.  I felt that your company was extremely helpful and covered every detail.  I had all my questions answered before I even arrived, mostly from the packet you mailed to me: THIS WAS WONDERFUL!

I appreciate you following up to make sure we were happy.  Believe me, we were!  I have already recommended your company to several friends of mine.

I am in love with your land, and am sure I will return very soon.  Again, thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Unfortunately, Casa Violetta can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
