July 2012 - Casa Miriam was a VERY nice place to stay. A fine walk from the beach and from the city of Sorrento. A wonderful garden and a nice and clean apparent.

We didn't have much contact with miss Miriam, but she was very helpful and she even offered us a small gift as we left.

Summer in Italy has offered a perfect service all the way from start until now.

January 2012 - We enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the excellent looking terrace because we were there in the end of December. Very suitable for two persons.

Highly recommended. And Miriam was a most helpful host!

Travel tips

  • If not driving be careful with the public transportation: it is very unreliable.
  • Good minimarket with fresh bread every morning around the corner.
  • Swimming possibilities nearby, hiking to neighbouring villages etc.

April 2011 - Overall clean, reasonably priced but basic accomodation which is all we required as a base to sleep whilst exploring the area (you get what you pay for). Quiet except the bank hoiday weekend when the neighbours were noisy at night (this was only a problem for our kids sleeping in the living area).

Best point - it's close to the beautiful Regina Giovanna beach which is well worth a visit.

There is a lovely garden, which we understood was for all guests, but Casa Miriam B itself opens onto an astro-turfed covered seating area which was not very attractive.

Travel tips

  • Bus stop, corner shop, pizza restaurant and bar very close but town a bit of a trek.
  • Buses are cheap and frequent but we took a couple of days to work out the pricing system. It was a very expensive taxi ride back on a bank holiday night when buses stopped at 9 pm.
  • Car parking at Casa Miriam B is good but the access is bit dangerous - the whole area is not for faint-hearted drivers.
  • The Amalfi coast is beautiful and breathtaking - we did hire a car but there are plenty of bus and ferry options. The train was easy and cheap from Naples and is best option for Pompeii but again it's a bit of a distance from Casa Miriam.

April 2011 - Friendly and efficient reception. Very comfortable stay. Left entirely on our own which was wonderful. Nice being able to sit outside in garden. Nice, spacious grounds and lovely views of sunsets.

Your service was the greatest - very efficient and helpful, kept us up to date at all times, very informative newsletters. Extremely helpful and accurate advice and information. Will definitely use you again if the opportunity arises and will recommend you to our friends. Thank you again.

Travel tips

  • Remember the red/orange bus to catch from Sorrento is "A" -- bus stop at Capo di Sorrento is right outside the gate -- very convenient.
  • Small grocery store around corner, great pizzas almost on your doorstep.
  • Nice walk to Roman ruins, and fishing village not too far with nice restaurant - tables on beach!!

October 2009 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Miriam B, even more so because we had the place to ourselves.

The location is quiet but easy to get into town by bus. Having a local shop, bar, pizzeria and bus stop just round the corner are very convenient. The apartment facilities had everything we needed, and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Having the beach at Marina di Puolo within walking distance is a real bonus.

Travel tips

  • Highly recommend the beach at Marina di Puolo, 15 mins walk down the path beside the Hotel Dania - good swimming and snorkeling, excellent seafood for lunch.
  • We went everywhere by public transport, cheap and efficient. A day ticket (from the local shop or bar) will get you the train to Naples and metro/buses round the city plus your bus home. Or a day bus ticket will get you to/from Amalfi, much easier than driving.
  • Watch out for Corso Italia closing to traffic at 7 pm, after which you have to catch the bus home on Via degli Aranci instead.

May 2009 - We mostly enjoyed Casa Miriam B. The apartment was nice, cozy. The two downsides were the lack of cooking utensils in the kitchen, like no cheese grater, and no washing machine. I'm not sure how I missed that in the description. Just took it for granted.

The yard is very nice, very easy to spend time outdoors. Very easy to get to Capo by bus. A very pleasant time.

Summer in Italy were very helpful, always responsive, and friendly.

Travel tips

  • Take the walk down to the Roman Baths!

July 2008 - I absolutely loved Casa Miriam B. The location is fantastic and its so peaceful and relaxing.

Sitting out in the beautiful gardens enjoying our meals with a glass of wine. The pizzeria next door where the pizzas are fantastic and very cheap. The bar across the road. I really enjoyed my stay there and would definitely go back.

found Summer in Italy provided an excellent service and extremely efficient.

Travel tips

  • The bus service is excellent and right at your door. Make sure you get a day ticket. The shop keeper sold us single bus tickets instead of telling us you could get a day ticket for Sorrento which allows you to hop on and off buses all day. You can get day tickets for all sights and the one ticket does you for all buses and trains.
  • Taxis prices are outrageous and they make it up as they go along. They charge per person. Eg. They will tell you the price is €25.00 and when you get there it'll be €38.00. So watch them.
  • There are some great sights & day trips but the Italians are not very helpful when you get there. Also, EU children & OAPs go free in a lot of places but must have photo id.

October 2007 - Casa Miriam was the perfect place for us.

We liked to be away from the city, we liked the easy accessibility of the neighborhood walks and we liked cooking our foods and enjoying the quietness of the location.

Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi coast must be seen by all. Pompei and Paestum are also on this list. The people are gracious and always willing to help out.

This trip will stay alive in our memory for ever.

July 2007 - We had a really good week in a very clean and cool apartment.

We had the large garden/patio area to ourselves, so we had loads of choice of tables, chairs, loungers and the swing.

The shop on the corner was great for fresh rolls each morning, and the bus terminus was very handy. Shame the local pizzerias weren't open (n July), but it was so easy to go down into Sorrento it didn't really matter.

Kitchen was very basic, but with the shop and the garden again it didn't matter as we had lots of picnics outside.

Overall we did enjoy it tremendously!

Travel tips

  • It's dead easy to get to Pompeii on the train (cheap tickets from the shop), and the entrance is only 50 yards from the station - get there early and pick up the audio guides (need proof of ID as a deposit). Much better and cheaper than using a guide.

June 2007 - Very convenient position for local visits.

Nice and peaceful in garden for eating and relaxing.

Bus stop next door great bonus, no need to take car into town as bus every 20 minutes much cheaper than parking.

Villa is very functional for two people.

Travel tips

  • Use the train to visit Pompeii.
  • Avoid using the car as much as possible, the scooters and Italian driving can give you nightmares.

June 2007 - We had a lovely time, the apartment was lovely and in a perfect position but the weather for us was not good so we could not enjoy the garden because of the rain.

One night was very windy and there was a banging door or window left open all night long but other than that it was very peaceful.

The garden was lovely but there was no view in Casa Miriam B.

The air conditioning was brilliant (when needed!)

Summer in Italy was recommended by a friend. Casa Miriam B was perfect for us in size and location and was well equipped.

Travel tips

  • The shop next to the apartment was excellent and very close but we hoped the pizzeria would be open but it was not and we were disappointed as we had looked forward to eating there! There did not appear to be much open close to the apartment at night time.
  • The bus in to town was brilliant cheap and very close.
  • We found the sea and it truly was a lovely walk down even if it was hard coming back up.

September 2006 - Casa Miriam B is in a lovely peaceful setting just outside Sorrento. Away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet only a 1-euro bus ride away. There is a bus every 20 minutes from practically outside the door. You can buy the tickets in the alimentari. We very much enjoyed out stay there.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped. It looked exactly like the photographs on the website. The shower was excellent. The patio area outside was a lovely place to sit with a book and a cold drink. The kitten was an added bonus!

The pizzeria just outside the gate was terrific.

The owner was very friendly and the pizzas and salads were some of the best we tasted.

I came across your website by accident but I can see myself using it again and again. Thank you very much for your attention to detail. It made all the difference.

August 2006 - Firstly I would like to point out that dealing with Summer in Italy was wonderful. A better quality of service would be hard to find.

We eventually settled on Casa Miriam B and found it to be in an excellent location - being at the end of the frequent bus route was brilliant.

The accommodation suited us perfectly (2 adults and 2 children). Everything was spotlessly clean and Miriam [the owner] though most helpful was not in the slightest bit intrusive.

I loved the brochures left in the living room - they helped us orient ourselves and plan trips out & about.

The terrace outside was very peaceful & it was hard to believe there were multiple units.

I would not hesitate in returning. Thank you all for everything! Grazie mille.

June 2006 - It is a great place for both kids and parents.

The courtyard is perfect as a place for having breakfast for the whole family and recreation for kids.

Plenty of flowers and fruit trees make it genuinely Italian.

We did enjoy it greatly.

Very smooth, prompt, helpful and personal service. Many thanks.

September 2005 - Casa Miriam was a real oasis of calm in what is an extremely busy area.

The transport links are excellent.

The air conditioning was very effective.

Very happy. Very responsive and with a real personal touch. The descriptions were 100% accurate. I would turn to Summer in Italy first when I next come to this part of the world.

I was very comfatable in the apartment and the air conditoning was great.

I would definetly stay there again as the location was superb with the roman walk to the lagoon situated right behind us & a short bus ride away from the centre of town.

I recieved brilliant customer service & attention to detail. Fantastic, keep up the good work!

July 2005 - We indeed enjoyed our stay at Casa Miriam.

The location was perfect out of the city, and then again so close, and easy to get there.

The house is very nice, and the private surroundings is very good, and private.

We have been very much satisfied with Summer In Italy. It have been easy to book, and we have got a lot of good and useful information. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

May 2005 - The equipment (kitchen equipment, especially glasses, cups) was just right. The terrace is fantastic, as is the broader garden, with olive, lemon, and other trees.

The place was spotlessly clean. The owners and staff were as helpful as can be.

The location is very convenient, with the bus stop right there.

August 2004 - While there's no view from Casa Miriam B, it is in a lovely setting. The orange and lemon trees in the garden, and the patio make a beautiful place to wind down with a glass of wine.

We also loved the fact that the beach was an easy 800 metre (or so) walk down a cobbled road, with roman ruins right there. The water a is lovely colour.

The home is not in the town centre but the bus is cheap and easy to catch. The stop can't be missed because it's the last one one the route. We were grateful that an alimentari, a pizzeria and a restaurant were right next door too. Everything we needed if we didn't want to scoot into town.

The three best things about Casa Miriam are its space (quite big compared to the three other apartments we rented in Italy), its quiet (almost soundproof with the windows closed at night, so no traffic noise) and its light. The place has a great sunroom that fills up with sunlight and invites you to relax with a book or over breakfast!

Casa Miriam was expensive in comparison to our other accomodations but not more expensive than other places in very popular Sorrento. We were very happy with our stay and did not feel overcharged at all.

We'd highly recommend the place, especially if you like quiet and space in your accomodations, or if you want to bring your family.

We found everything about Summer in Italy to be topnotch. Your website was easy to use and so was making our reservations on line. We liked the fact that we were pre-paid and ready to go once there. Your emails were very helpful and we thought they gave terrific advice for newcomers to Italy. Thanks for everything. Hopefully we'll be back soon...
