Fantastic

October 2014 - Casa Marina was an excellent choice.

The owner was a pleasure to deal with, his English was excellent and he was very helpful with information regarding the area and the attraction. Keep up the good work.

I would highly recommend Casa Marina, we will see you again.

Excellent service from Summer In Italy.

June 2014 - It was a fantastic stay.

The location was beautiful and the apartment itself exceeded our expectations.

Travel tips

  • There is a street directly next to the villa and mopeds are on the street during the night into potential sleeping hours. This is nothing Casa Marina can control of course, but with the windows open the noise can inhibit sleep. Bring some ear plugs and all will be well. After 2 nights we got used to it and didn't even notice. Other than that I totally recommend Casa Marina.

Very good

October 2013 - We thoroughly enjoyed out stay on the beautiful Amalfi coast! Would recommend those beautiful views to anyone! The village of Praiano is situated in the perfect position - not too busy but midway between Positano and Amalfi - both worth a visit.

The family who own Casa Marina are very welcoming from the start and are always close by to ask anything - from where to walk, where to park and any problems with the property (not that we had any!).

Loved the balcony - almost as big as the apartment inside!

The booking process was very easy, not problems and emails were answered quickly.

Travel tips

  • We hired a car but the driving in Naples was... interesting...! The car was really nice for the longer journeys but we found we didn't really use it during the week because parking is expensive and the buses are great.
  • We took a boat ride to Capri which was expensive but well worth it - we took the more expensive option of a smaller boat day trip which was definitely a highlight of the trip.
  • Augustus Gardens in Capri gives you GORGEOUS views, as does the 'balcony of infinity' at the Villa Cimbrone in Ravello.
  • Pompeii is worth a visit a bit further afield.

September 2011 - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Marina.

Alfonso and the whole family [the owners] were welcoming and very helpful always.

The location is super... out of the onslaught of tourists that we saw in Positano, Amalfi and beginning to jam up Ravello. A great base for exploring the Amalfi Coast and a peaceful spot to come "home" to.

Travel tips

  • If you have your own car with you or a rented car: take your time. It's a different kind of traffic (narrow streets with lots of scooters and big coaches) as many of us are used too. But the people there behave in the traffic amazingly relaxed and understand that you are foreign.

April 2011 - Casa Marina was everything I wanted in a place to stay. I spent 3 weeks there.

The family who owns the house were wonderful to me.

Travel by local buses to Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Ravello, etc was extremely easy. The town of Praiano where Casa Marina is located has many wonderful restaurants within walking distance and has it's own charm.

I loved being out on the terrace with it's lovely view of blue blue water.

I would definitely return and stay at Casa Marina.

Luca and all the staff at Summer In Italy provided wonderful advice and the site is one of the easiest to navigate. Thanks for helping me have the time of my life!

April 2011 - We loved our week at Casa Marina. The location great, very easy to catch the bus to all the places we visited. All the local restaurants we tried were fabulous. Alfonso and the family we met were all very helpful.

We would go back again.

Everything was so easy. We would use you again and we loved the newsletter. A lot of good advice with a sense of humor.

Travel tips

  • You can buy your bus tickets at the Tabacchi almost opposite.
  • Walk to the beach and have a meal at Bar Mare, the seafood was incredible.
  • Visit Capri from Amalfi to get great views of the coastline.

October 2010 - Casa Marina was exactly what my wife and I had hoped for and expected. We were looking for a place with basic accommodations but a great view since we expected our time at the residence would be limited pretty much to sleeping.

Anna and the staff at the shop were a pleasure and eager to help with anything.

Summer in Italy made everything easy from start to finish. They were very willing to assist with any question we had before and during our trip. I would use them again in a second and have already recommended to countless friends and co-workers.

Travel tips

  • Make sure you have a camera with lots of memory.
  • Favorite sights were just about anything in Praiano, Positano, Amalfi and the remaining towns nearby. The sights are just breathtaking.
  • Several nice restaurants nearby as most other reviewers have mentioned. Although the food wasn't bad we were a bit disappointed due to having very high expectations. After our first two dinners out at nicer places we spent the remainder of our vacation doing the pizzas and sandwiches which we enjoyed just as much (and spent a whole lot less).

May 2010 - Casa Marina is the perfect bed/sitter for the middle income traveller. It is as described, with all the amenities needed to enjoy a relaxing holiday. We toured all the sites on the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi coast, with ease and returned each evening to the comfort of Casa Marina.

We arrived on the May Day weekend, late because of heavy traffic only to be met by Signora Anna, resident matriarch, with a cheerful Canada at the bus stop. Anna arranged a late dinner at Restaurant Costa Diva, the excellent restaurant across the road. Excellent hosts, helpful and welcoming. Property is well maintained and the gardens a joy for someone who returned to Canada to plant his own.

SummerInItaly has been a pleasure to deal with in every respect. The service has been personal with extra effort from all the staff, who provided information and explanations patiently and cheerfully. I recommend highly SummerInItaly.

Travel tips

  • The Campania ArteCard is both a bargain and time saving ticket for every thing you might want to see. The three day SITA ticket is also helpful.
  • Get to know the Comune bus services as well. We toyed with driving but after realizing the buses allow you to see the sights and avoid the stress of coping with traffic, it was no contest.
  • We enjoyed Restaurant Il Teatro In Amalfi and Restaurant Da Gigino in Sorrento.

March 2010 - Casa Marina was wonderful.

Alfonso was gracious and a lovely host. He helped us find unique and interesting things to do (we are musicians, so he arranged to have us visit his friends who were both instrument makers). He helped us also find places to eat and shop, and we really enjoyed chatting with him.

The apartment itself was well appointed and very clean. We slept like babies and had lovely evenings on the huge terrace.

It was a wonderful week and an incredible value.

This was our first time booking with you. Everything ran very smoothly and we were very impressed. We visit Italy about twice a year and look forward to booking with you again.

Travel tips

  • Take time to chat with Alfonso [the owner], he is fantastic!
  • The macelleria up the street makes a delicious homemade sausage, we fried it up in just a few minutes and enjoyed it with a bottle of wine on the gorgeous terrace.

August 2009 - My thanks to the staff at Summer In Italy for excellent organization and communication.

The apartment itself was ideal. The accommodation was not only clean and comfortable, the location was absolutely the best on the coast. While most accommodations - hotels and apartments - are a significant walk and/or climb from the nearest road, Casa Marina is right ON the road. In fact, being only a few steps away from the SITA bus stop is a real bonus. I have stayed on the coast long enough to know that my spot in Praiano was absolutely the best choice. Away from the crowds in Positano and Amalfi, this location allows one to take in all that the Amalfi Coast has to offer, but to be able also to relax in peace and quiet.

The proprietors, who own the beautiful ceramic shop below, are generous and kind, and will make a stay at Casa Marina unforgettable. Grazie a tutti!

November 2008 - We certainly enjoyed the stay very much, the owners of the flat were lovely and invited us in for an espresso each day when we got back from whatever we'd been doing.

The Amalfi coast is beautiful and is a great base to visit places - we went to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Capri, and Paestum. After the cold and wet of an English October the weather was perfect for us, T-shirts every day.

The only slight criticism I have is that if we visit the Amalfi coast again we wouldn't choose Praiano, it's a bit quiet and we had quite a walk each evening to the restaurants we used (although when we got there they were all excellent.)

Everything was fine. Choosing, paying, and finding Casa Marina was all easy and quick. We booked with you because you were recommended by friends. We will now recommend Summer In Italy, and Casa Marina, to our friends (I have already passed the details on to my sister and her family). We had a lovely week and we will remember it for a long time.

Travel tips

  • We were warned not to hire a car but we did so anyway and it was fine. The holiday would have been far more difficult without it. I enjoyed the driving.
  • The shop "Tutto x Tutti" is up a few staircases from the flat but it was excellent, with a very good deli section and truly nice people - big handshake and "arrivederci" the day before we left.
  • Restaurants - loads of good ones, we had lovely meals in La Strada, in Bar Mare, in the restaurant overlooking the plaza of San Giacomo church, in Hotel Onda Verde, and in La Brace. The 40 Euro set meal for two at La Brace, which includes Fritto Misto (mixed fried fish), is fantastic, but make sure you're hungry, its huge.

September 2008 - Yes we enjoyed Casa Marina and it was perfectly suited for the two of us.

The description of the shared external terrace with lemon trees and a barbecue turned out to be a little optimistic [the remark is about the terrace/garden at the back of the house, shared with the guests staying at Casa Anna, not the front terrace which is private to Casa Marina].

The owners were welcoming and friendly, but did not intrude.

Excellent web site and great communications - very happy, thanks.

Travel tips

  • Be prepared for a lot of walking up steep hillsides - to the supermarket and to restaurants.
  • The restaurant in the hotel opposite was adequate but a bit expensive. Restaurant Il Pirata down near the beach/harbour was excellent and reasonably priced.

August 2008 - Casa Marina is a very low budget location that has wonderful amenities for two people.

While small, its beautiful outdoor courtyard provides substantial living space during summer. We spent very little time indoors, other than to sleep.

It has a great view out over the Mediterranean.

Although directly above the busy Amalfi Coast road, which generates a great deal of traffic noise, it is in a relatively quiet area of the coast and offers good access to swimming, boating, and restaurants in the nearby harbor area.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and thought Casa Marina provided a comfortable, economical accommodation.

I found Summer in Italy through an Internet search on Italian Villas. I found the site very user friendly and informative, with an excellent opportunity to research a large number of available accommodations quickly and easily. Casa Marina turned out to be exactly what we expected from website information. I also greatly appreciated the attentive follow-up from staff as the time for our trip approached.

Travel tips

  • Driving on the Amalfi Coast, especially for tourists not familiar with its conditions, should assure that Praiano is the area in which they wish to stay. We did drive from there to Pompeii and Herculaneum, but travel along the coast can be very difficult, especially in high tourist season.

July 2008 - Casa Marina was a really nice place to stay on the Amalfi coast.

It was pretty central to most things and the owners were great. Signora Anna and her family really made us feel very welcome and at home.

We would have no hesitation to recommend this accommodation to other prospective guests.

I found your service very thorough and helpful. Keep up the good work.

Travel tips

  • As the place is on the side of a mountain, and there are no nearby shops, we would recommend anyone going there to purchase their supplies before they get there - it will save them many trips to the closest shop (especially if they are on foot).

June 2008 - Casa Marina was one of our best choices and one of our favorite places to stay while in Italy.

The location is superb, just far enough off the "beaten path" between Amalfi and Positano.

The view from the terrace is spectacular!

Alfonso and Anna [the owners] did everything they could to make our stay and experience wonderful.

We highly recommend Casa Marina, you won't be disappointed!

Summer in Italy is a great place to book travel in Italy. I will definitely use your service again. You made the process very easy. Sometimes you don't always get what you are being shown on the Internet, but Casa Marina was just as you advertised, right down to the pictures! I booked through your service because I found the website, it was easy to navigate and offered exactly what I was looking for. Your correspondence was invaluable and I felt you really wanted us to have the best experience we could have in Italy. Thank you Luca, hopefully we will be able to return next summer!

Travel tips

  • Day trips from Casa Marina are easy to make. We travelled to Sorrento, Ravello, Pompeii and Capri. Each trip was just long enough and we were back in time to enjoy the beach and dinner.
  • The markets are an easy walk, we cooked most of our dinners.
  • Be sure to taste the local wines, they are wonderful.

May 2008 - We had a lovely week at Casa Marina. Anna, her friends and family gave us excellent assistance.

I was unwell while there and had to attend the local hospital emergency department. Anna's family were able to explain how to get there and checked up on my health afterwards. When we arrived tired and late there were supplies in the cupboard, fruit in the bowl, water in the fridge and Anna told us where to get any extras we would require before the morning.

The location of Casa Marina on the main road made catching buses around the Amalfi Coast simple.

Casa Marina would suit a couple as it is quite compact although the bathroom in a separate area did give a feeling of spaciousness.

I would highly recommend Casa Marina.

I found dealings with Summer in Italy smooth and professional.

Travel tips

  • Get up to date bus timetables as sometimes the scheduled buses didn't turn up. Catch buses to Amalfi early as they fill up quickly and will not stop even if you are waiting.
  • Use the road rather than the steps to go up to the local supermarket.
  • We caught the bus to Positano and then the ferry along the coast to Amalfi. It was good to see the coast from the water instead of the bus.

September 2007 - We LOVED Casa Marina. Bene! It was just what we were looking for... comfortable and modest. The location was wonderful... about 50 yards from the bus stop and an easy walk into Praiano.

We loved Anna, the owner, and her sons. They were warm and friendly and helpful.

We plan to return. We liked being in quiet Praiano as compared to the busier and more touristy towns of Positano or Amalfi.

Summer in Italy was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. We received a recommendation to book with Summer in Italy from a friend.

Travel tips

  • Pizza at La Strada in Praiano.
  • Day trips by bus to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Ravello was a personal favorite.
  • We had a lovely dinner at the Open Gate Ristorante and Hotel, just a few yards to the north of Casa Marina.
  • The Holiday Hotel in upper Praiano provides a wonderful dinner, but they need advance notice.

August 2007 - What an amazing week - Praiano and Casa Marina were like being in a dream.

Of our 12 weeks in Italia over a 6 year period, this week was the best!

The owners and their family were beyond gracious and made us feel so welcome without being overbearing. We were greeted with smiles, a large chilled bottle of water, and a bowl of fresh fruit & vegetables - what a pleasant surprise after a long day of travel. Their ceramic store is great and they wrap everything so well - we had no breakage for anything we bought (and we bought a lot).

Another great rental with Summer In Italy - we look forward to renting with your agency again next year.

Travel tips

  • Here is a list of places where we ate that we enjoyed. For some, you have to walk via Roma into town, it was a little scary the first time but you quickly get the hang of it:
  • Vivaro – this is a fairly new wine bar on the main road next to La Brace. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and the owner brought us over 4 different types of wonderful finger food (figs, mussels gratin, etc.) The total bill was $18 – are you kidding me?! Please, if you are going to Praiano – give this place a try – business seemed to be slow and I wish the owner only the best.
  • La Brace: brightly lighted but great, solid eating.
  • Il Pirata: this place is nice for lunch or dinner – it sits on the cliff overlooking the sea and has great food.
  • La Strada: walk up a long, rocky staircase to a wonderful rooftop terrace complimented by good food.
  • La Tagliata: this restaurant is in Montepertuso – we ate there because Donna Rosa was booked for a private party. The concept is fun but the meal may be a little overwhelming for some. There is no menu – you order red or white wine and then the food starts coming – the family prepares what is fresh for the day and serve “American” style portions. We had 8 antipasta, 4 pastas, 8 meats, 2 dolci – wacky amounts of food – some things were great, others were average – you have to taste your way through to decide. To get to the restaurant, we booked a taxi with the local company. The restaurant offers a free shuttle service from Positano – we took the shuttle after dinner and then caught the local bus to Praiano.
  • La Gavitella: this restaurant is best reached by boat from Marina di Praia – we did it the hard way and walked – it is a very LONG walk downhill from the Piazza in Vettica Maggiore, but we enjoyed it. The fish is very fresh and everyone was coming and actually selecting the specific fish they would eat for their meal. The establishment also runs a beach during the day – we did not try it.

July 2007 - We really enjoyed our being there. It is ideal for a couple, although I wouldn't recommend for 3. The double bed in the room was really pleasuring, however the divan bed is rather for packing, than sleeping.

I cannot find proper words expressing how helpful and friendly the owners were. Whatever advice we needed they were more than happy to help us.

I would rate the view and location as average. Obviously it is not true comparing to our home location; it only means that there are fancier and more attractive places along the cost if someone prefers to pay the double of the price than the rental fee of Casa Marina for some more romantic environment. To conclude the price/performance rate of this apartment was the very best, especially if you - just like us - plan to visit the surrounding, go on excursions and your primary objective is not only sitting and looking at the terrace all the day.

The only thing bothered us a bit at the beginning was that, as it is along the road, the relatively heavy traffic including the regular bus runs were a bit noisy. After a while we got used to them and it became much less annoying. Finally we were very sorry when had to move on and leave this apartment and its charming owners.

Travel tips

  • We had a negative adventure when we missed a bus and had to wait for one and a half hour till the next one. It was 38 Celsius degrees hot and we ran out of water. Nothing is simpler, there was a small shop at the bus stop in Positano, and I entered and tried to buy a bottle of water for 1 EUR. When I wanted to pay with a 10 EUR note (this was the smallest I had), the seller took back the water and told me that he won't give the water for a note because he won't change the money (I don't think because he couldn't). I tried to convince him for a while, after we continued starving for another 2 hours till we got back to the apartment. So, my advice is that you always keep some coins handy, because it seems the counters tend to refuse selling items if they don't like your money (or you, but I'd like to hope the reason was not that). [A note from the Summer In Italy staff: the reason for the above is likely to be that the shop actually did not have change. While in most countries shop-keepers will go to a bank and get coins to give back change and make it through the day, I've yet to see this happen in Southern Italy. Popular outfit that sell low-priced items are constantly out of change... can you imagine that Italians apologize when they buy a low-priced item with a bill and at times even ask before hand if the cashier has enough change?]

Travel tips

June 2007 - I really enjoyed staying there.

Actually the only problem I had was public transport. Although the bus top is very nearby, it happened more than once that the bus did not show up, or did not stop because it was full. In that case you need to wait another hour for the next one and hope that one is not full either. Not a very large choice of restaurants close by, unless you want to climb down to the beach (and up again after dinner).

The studio is great and the owners very helpful and friendly.

March 2007 - Not only was the apartment fantastico, the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxed vacation!

The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable, and had plenty of space for two people. We were unlucky with weather: It stormed for two days, during which time we did not step foot outside -- and my husband and I did not drive each other crazy! But even with the few days when the weather refused to cooperate, we loved our stay. We both agreed we would stay there in again in a heartbeat. And the rate was very very reasonable.

The whole process was easy, from start to finish, and the directions were very clear and easy to follow. This is a great vacation service, and I will not hesitate to use it again!

Travel tips

  • If you come in March, as we did, you could have fantastic weather, warm and sunny, or it could be a bit on the chilly side. Because it had been nice in Italy the few weeks before our trip, I packed light clothes -- thank god my husband brought warmer things and shared with me! Definitely bring some warmer clothes and well as fair weathered ones. But don't let the possible chill (and I mean in the 50s F) put you off from coming this early in the season. The coast was not crowded at all, which helped us have a relaxing, not hectic, experience.
  • As far as stuff to do: we walked to Amalfi one day, and the walk yielded beautiful beautiful views and great photo opportunities (and it's only 12 km).
  • We really liked the small market up top in Praiano "Tutto per Tutti" --they were friendly and helpful (but if on foot, walk the road up, the stairs are KILLER).
  • If you get the chance, don't miss Pompeii as a day trip -- but make sure you leave the WHOLE day for it, it's bigger than you think.
  • Overall, there is a lot to do and see nearby and on the Amalfi, but it's also a great place just to do nothing!

Travel tips

  • The public transport is so good that a car is unnecessary. We hired a car for the four weeks we were there but were frightened by the Italian "style" of driving and consequently left the car outside the property for most of our stay! We cheaply and easily travelled to Sorrento, Amalfi, Pompeii and other resorts on public transport

November 2006 - Casa Marina gave me all I was hoping for and more. In need of a retreat from the world this was an ideal environment. Well situated between Positano and Amalfi, with regular bus services to everywhere on the Amalfi Coast, everything becomes accessible from this point.

The family are friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. In fact they really have a good handle on how to ensure that their guests get the experience that they want.

It was the best decision I ever made. I found you on the internet and will now be recommending you to others. Everything you did for me was valuable and timely. I needed nothing more from you to get to my destination and that is a good recommendation. I was absolutely delighted with the extent of your information, help and ease of access. Well done.

Travel tips

  • Don't be frightened to ask. Everyone is helpful. Language, or lack of it, is not a barrier in any way.
  • Always buy return bus tickets and make sure you get each ticket validated in the machine as you get on the bus. It will all become self-evident.
  • Go walking. The walking trails are endless and they are well marked and maintained.

Clean, comfortable, and in a good location with nearby beach and cliff restaurants. Very friendly and helpful owners with delightful ceramic shop beneath the apartment.

Steep walk up steps to supermarket and ATM. Buses along the coast road can be crowded and scary! Visitors should be warned to obtain ticket from local shops BEFORE boarding!

August 2006 - We had a great time at Casa Marina.

Anna [the owner] and her family made us very welcome.

The apartment was clean and comfortable with a wonderful terrace that looked over the sea.

We were within walking distance of the beach. The location was fine, peaceful and quiet, and close to the bus stop.

We would certainly return to Casa Marina again!.

I am glad I came across Summer in Italy on the Internet. The booking was straightforward. I found Summer in Italy to be very helpful and would certainly use the company again and recommend to friends. Ciao!

July 2006 - We enjoyed much living in Casa Marina. Owners were very kind. When we came late in the Saturday evening, there were bread, cheese, tomatoes and beer waiting for us. It was nice!

Casa Marina was peaceful place. Our legs got stronger, thanks to all those stairs in Praiano.

It was easy to travel to Positano and Amalfi from Praiano by buses and to Capri by boat.

May 2006 - We really enjoyed our stay. Anna, Alfonso and the family [the owners] were so hospitable and friendly.

We had to buy some of the beautiful pottery as it was wonderful to see it being made and the work that goes into it.

The location is great as it is between Positano and Amalfi and the bus service is great. We will go back sometime as it is a great place to relax and enjoy the Italian way of life.

Anna was always offering us coffee and we loved to sit down and chat with them.

Summer in Italy is an excellent website and I would highly recommend it.

May 2006 - My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Marina. It was the perfect honeymoon location and we couldn't have asked for more perfect accommodations. It was quite romantic!

Travel up and down the Amalfi coast was very easy and the owners gave helpful advice about how best to spend our time touring.

Thanks for providing a great service! We have recommended Summer in Italy and Casa Marina to our friends and family and hope to make it back sometime in the future!

May 2006 - My Fiancee and I had the most amazing time staying at Casa Marina. The town of Praiano was perfect -- removed from the crowds and tourists of Positano and Amalfi -- it offered excellent restaurants, breath-taking scenery, and some of the loveliest local people we met!

Let me tell you about how wonderful Casa Marina was! The prefect size for two people, it offered every amenity we needed (a good kitchen, laundry, comfortable bed and nice bathroom) and the terrace was the icing on the cake!

Almost every night, after feasting at one of the many amazing water-front restaurants built into the cliffs bellow us, my fiance and I would come back to Casa Marina, enjoy a nice bottle of local wine, and just relax and soak up the beautiful view!

It was an added bonus getting to meet Anna, her sons, and Laura who work at the ceramic shop bellow us and own Casa Marina. They were extremely nice and gracious, always happy to answer any questions and recommend sights to see.

All in all, I would LOVE to return to Casa Marina. We had such a wonderful time -- this is a place that cannot be beat!

Thank you so much for everything -- I recommend this website to everyone I know! When we come back to Italy, you can be sure that I'll be staying somewhere through Summer in Italy!!!

April 2006 - We were made very welcome at Casa Marina and the owners asked us several times if things were alright.

It is well situated to visit the whole of the Amalfi coast. The terrace/balcony was a very pleasant feature of the property and was well equipped with outdoor furniture.

The kingsize bed was exceptionally comfortable.

Very satisfactory service.

The apartment was immaculate when we arrived and the owner had supplied water, coffee, lemons and various other store cupboard ingredients.

There are plenty of great bars and restaurants locally and it is also easy to get around by bus.

Such a wonderful place to spend a holiday!

Thank you so much for all you help.

October 2005 - We enjoyed every minute... the view from the terrace is so beautiful... we enjoyed breakfast and lunch there and used the bus to travel to all the different towns. It is so central... we went to Pompei and Capri as well.

Anna and her sons [the owners] are so friendly and helpful...

If we ever get back to this area we will be staying for a month.

Keep up the good work... it's the first time we booked on the internet... it won't be the last.

July 2005 - With us, the location is the most important. The location of Casa Marina is fabulous. It is an easy walk down to the marina which has excellent restaurant boat rentals, scuba diving and pick up to go to Capri, etc. The walk back is invigorating.

Also Praiano is not crowded as Positano and Amalfi. Bus access to these cities is good.

The view is great and the owners are very friendly and helpful.

We would stay here again.

July 2005 - The location to restaurants and the beauty of the Amalfi coast recommend this property. However, the real charm is evident in the hospitality of the family who own the villa and their ceramic shop in Praiano.

The friendly and accomodating people of Praiano were just as much a part of our honeymoon experience as the impressive views, the azure Mediterranean or the delectable food and wine of the region.

Don't travel too much. Enjoy the flavor of Praiano, talk to people, you may never get to be an Italian again!

May 2005 - Casa Marina is very easy to find and the hosts were excellent. Traffic noise from the road did disturb us the first night (extra busy due to a festival). We valued the secure parking for our car and the close proximity of the bus.

The room was large and bright and the deck second to none.

The highlight was the Amalfi coast and living right on it, as well as our hosts who made us very welcome. Our thank again to Anna, Laura and Mr Alfonso for making a good stay special.

We found your service to be excellent, everything went off without a hitch.

November 2004 - Casa Marina is a delightful apartment in a nice quiet spot.

The hostess Anna is a warm and engaging woman who does her best to communicate even when the visitor has poor Italian! She made us feel very welcome and she has a lovely shop. She very thoughtfully and generously supplied us with things for breakfast. Her sons speak good English. Anna directed us to a wonderful restaurant where we ate nearly every night as it was so good!

I hope we can return and stay longer as it is a very nice place to stay away from the crowded tourist towns but within easy reach of them.

Thank you Summer in Italy for helping us with advice and arranging it all so easily. I found you on the net when looking for somewhere to go on Amalfi coast and we are very happy with the outcome. Wish we had had longer..... Next time?!

Nightlife fairly quiet in October, but ideal if you have spent a hectic previous week in Rome and Sorrento, like we did. Good shops for groceries/booze etc. Good walks and stunning scenery.

The property was spacious, pleasant with great amenities. The terrace makes Casa Marina stand out from surrounding accommodation - We were the King and Queen of the Castle!

October 2004 - We had a wonderful time staying at Casa Marina and have already started recommending it to friends should they ever visit the Amalfi coast. Anna [the owner] and her sons were very hospitable and gave us good restaurant tips for our day trips around the towns and coastal area.

We were delayed as we got lost coming out of Naples airport but when we arrived Anna was still waiting for us and welcomed us with a quick refreshment from our long drive down. She also gave us a bag next day of yummy of fresh walnuts and encouraged us to use her lovely vegetable garden above the flat. Her garden then inspired us to purchase a nice ceramic souvenir from her shop below the flat.

The quiet location of the flat was also such a welcome peaceful respite after a long hot day trudging through the busy coastal towns. The convenience was that we often got back late in the evening, changed, then walked down to the Marina di Praia for a long dinner, thus able to enjoy a bottle of wine without having to drive.

Bliss!

August 2004 - We found the unit perfect for our stay on the Amalfi Coast. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the unit was very clean and tidy as well as being well equiped for a short break.

The whole village is full of charm and the locals and shopkeepers were all very helpful. We also found the public transport system was very efficient, especially considering the narrow roads and the volume of traffic / congestion / passing standoffs that occur. You can get anywhere by bus, train or public ferry. Please note the roads on the Amalfi coast are very windy and narrow and quite often have cars parked on the side restricting two way traffic flow. It would be our advise not to take a car if at all possible, but if you do have to take one get the smallest and narrowest car you can get away with to relieve driving stress in these narrow congested roads.

Overall we had a great time here and hope to return in the future.

We found your service by chance on the web and were very happy with the service you provide. We really enjoyed our stay and were expecting the unit not to be of the same quality as the web photographs but were presently surprised when the unit exceeded the expections provided from the photographic aids.

We would be more than happy to recommend this apartment to any possible tennants and hope you continue to provide this excellent service.

Thanks again for your assistance in renting this property we enjoyed our stay there very much.

May 2004 - We really enjoyed our time at Casa Marina. The apartment was very clean and functional. Although relatively basic (though I had expected this from the photos) everything seemed quite new, well maintained, very clean - great really.

The massive terrace with tables, chairs and a couple of deck chairs with fantastic views looking right out ove the sea was great - more than we had hoped for!

The location is great (though we had a car) - being close to Positano, Amalfi and a comfortable drive to Pompei (which we did in a day trip), Naples, Sorrento and Salerno.

The only negative was that it wasn't quiet. The apartment is directly above the owner's shop which is right on the Amalfi coast road so has quite a bit of traffic, including regular busses.

The owners, Anna and her two sons Alfonso and Ventura, are really lovely - always on hand and friendly and helpful when we needed help or information but didn't bother us at all otherwise. Ventura and Alfonso both speak good English which was great as our Italian is very basic (to put it kindly). Anna speaks virtually no English but has a smile and warmth that communicates across languages!

I have been really impressed with Summer In Italy. The communication and professionalism has been great. Phone calls and emails have all been very friendly and felt that we were getting a caring, personal service. Great!

April 2004 - Casa Marina was just like we had imagined, just like in the pictures. :)

The apartment was big enough and clean. There was no separate bedroom, livingroom or kitchen, but they worked just fine in the same room, too. Also the balcony was nice and spacy.

Casa Marina is in a nice place with a wonderful view and close enough to shops ans restaurants.

We did enjoy our visit at Casa Marina. The owners were nice and friendly and my boyfriend got the change to play some music with them. Anna [the owner] had also made a delicious pie in the morning when we left Praiano.

October 2003 - Everything went very well for us at Casa Marina.

Anna, Alfonso and Ventura [the owners] were wonderful hosts. In fact several nights after we arrived they were hosting a party and invited us to attend. The homemade wines, the food and the company were all great.

The accommodations were well described on your web site and in our opinion your recommendation to stay at Casa Marina was certainly the right one.

The town of Praiano was charming, with lots of good restaurants and very welcoming people. Our three weeks on the Amalfi Coast could not have been better.

Casa Marina with its large patio and great accommodations was the prime reason for our enjoyable stay.

Thanks for your help and please thank the family once again for their graciousness.

October 2003 - We had a wonderful time on the Amalfi Coast, and we felt so welcome by Anna [the owner] and her family and friends. Her sons were great with the English language and so helpful with all our little needs like phone calls to the US etc.

Anna had the lemons and wine waiting for us and she invited us to dinner at her home another night. Anna was very sad to see us go. I am of Italian heritage, grandparents on both sides from Biella and I spoke lots of Italian with her and we became fast friends, which was easy to do since she is so fun loving and outgoing.

September 2003 - We most enjoyed our stay at Casa Marina and would gladly recommend to friends and even consider returning there.

The villa was clean, spacious and airy and had everything we could need. The sheer size of the balcony was an added bonus and we were able to spend time sitting outside eating, drinking and enjoying the fantastic view of the Med. The location is fantastic - very central and easy to get to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento.

We were most surprised at the lovely hospitality offered by the owner of the villa, Anna, who even cooked us a fantastic meal of fresh fish one night.

We have wonderful memories of Casa Marina and hope to be able to visit again. There is certainly nothing we would change about our stay there. We also found the local Italians most friendly and enthusiastic.

September 2003 - We had a wonderful time in Italy. The owners of Casa Marina are perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome - they made sure that we had everything we needed, and even gave us gifts of fruit from their orchard.

The accommodation was excellent, clean, and tidy with wonderful views over the sea. The design of the accommodation is very attractive. The terrace was perfect for sitting and relaxing.

The area is lovely, peaceful and quiet. The village has three excellent restaurants, a small shop and a supermarket.

The Italian people everywhere we visited were very friendly and helpful, and the transportation system is very good.
