October 2010 - We recently stayed in this cute and charming apartment that I would describe as a well laid out bedsitter.

It is not somewhere you are going to stay if you are looking at spending a lot of time watching tele, but if you are after a place to cook a few simple meals (if you are over eating out), do a load of washing (no dryer, but we used the airer and the washing was dried in no time), shower and sleep it is perfect.

The location was great if you are happy to wander or use buses. Great food near by along with a little shop for the essentials.

All the information we required on check in, including maps of the area, things to see and do were waiting for us. The staff member that checked us in and out could not have been more polite or helpful.

Cute place to rest your head and see the sites.

Great service.

June 2010 - The location was first rate. The apartment is small, but you are not going to spend much time in it, so it was more than fine for us. This place is really about the location in the middle of Rome, but far enough off the beaten path as to be quaint and quiet.

The place was clean, safe, secure and everything worked. We were completely happy.

Travel tips

  • The shower is really small, so be prepared to adjust to that.
  • Papa's Bar is fantastic for an afternoon or evening cocktail.
  • There is a nearby mini market that has everything else you need: water, liquor, dish soap, shampoo, etc.
  • There is also a little restaurant on the same side of the street as the mini market that had good paninis.

November 2009 - The space was well used and for such a tiny place it never felt cramped. Everything in the kitchen worked well, and it was well stocked for the size and price we paid.

Casa Lavinia B is a great value if you plan to spend most of your days out seeing Rome, and just want a great place to rest, cook up a little meal, and wash clothes.

Travel tips

  • There is a great restaurant a few steps from Casa Lavinia B called Old Bear, Via dei Gigli d'Oro 3. Great food, good prices.

June 2008 - We enjoyed Casa Lavinia B very much.

It is, of course, a city centre flat and should be judged as such. Don't expect anything other than somewhere to eat and sleep. The property offers the most superb access to almost anywhere in Rome, but it is only a tiny, city centre property with no views, no garden and no balcony so do not expect a house.

Its location is superb, being only a very short walk from so many of the most historic sights in Rome, as well as near the river.

Whilst at first sight the street it is in appears a little dull, in the evening is livens up with bars and restaurants spilling out nearby, offering an excellent little "backwater" in which to get away from the crowds.

Unfortunately, Casa Lavinia B can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
