Beautiful place

September 2017 - Casa Gladiolo D is a beautiful place. I would recommend it to anyone, even to families with children. The site is quiet and the pool is very nice.

The owner, Alessandra, is very friendly and very discreet. All was perfect!

I recommend Summer In Italy. All the information was accurate, and I've had friendly relationships with all the staff at Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • Restaurants near the sea are good and not too expensive.
  • We were surprised by towns like Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra, Elba Island and many others.

October 2012 - We enjoyed our stay at Casa Gladiolo. Alessandra, the owner was particularly lovely and spent time advising us where to go apart from the obvious tourist places. Thanks to her we saw the 'real' Tuscany which was amazing.

On arrival we were upgraded to a bigger apartment at no extra cost. I guess that was because we were out of season but we were very grateful for the offer.

On the whole, for the price we paid, we were very happy with our choice.

Travel tips

  • You definitely need a car as it's about 5 km to nearest town, Cecina.
  • Trains are cheap and reliable and we used them a lot - nearest station is in Cecina.
  • You must visit Volterra, Populonia (for the amazing view) Castagneto Carducci (restaurant Il Cappellaccio for the best pizza). Actually, everything was amazing, just get out and explore!
