October 2012 - Casa Giuggiola is a beautiful villa with a lovely view.

The owner, Raffaele, was most congenial and very helpful.

We loved our stay!

Travel tips

  • Be aware that the 25 steps to the villa is from the nearby road. The shops and restaurants on the main coast road are 200 steps down, and One Fire beach is 400 steps further down from the coast road. Unless you have a car, you should be pretty fit to get around!

October 2012 - We (two couples) from Ontario, Canada thoroughly enjoyed our week in Casa Giuggiola.

We were met by Margherita, the owner's daughter and she showed us to the apartment and explained everything.

The view over Praiano and the Mediterranean from the large terrace is incredible! The apartment is quite large and decorated in blue tiles, very nice.

It's a bit of a hike in from the car and it is 210 steps down (and up) to the town square but there is a small grocery store at the bottom of the stairs and the tourist information office is a few yards away.

Travel tips

  • Bring a Melitta coffee filter and refills.
  • Driving the Amalfi coast road is quite a challenge, very narrow and many blind hairpin turns.
  • If you go to Pompeii and/or Ravello (and you should) rent the taxi at the bottom of the steps: the driver is very entertaining.
  • Book Capri early as the larger boats fill quickly.
  • Praiano restaurants: La Brace, Smeraldo, Che Bonta.

October 2011 - Casa Giuggiola was more than we expected in many ways however there was no furniture to sit on in the living room. We watched the television sitting on the kitchen chairs. A comfortable sofa would be a great addition.

  • Be prepared for steps! 220 down to the village.
  • Restaurants all good particularly liked Hotel Margherita.
  • Need strong nerves to use buses and drive cars.

September 2011 - The accommodation was above average and the view was awesome. Climbing the steps did test your stamina... but was good exercise in the end. Overall we did enjoy our stay.

Travel tips

  • Guests need to be aware that although the shops are close, you have to climb 240 plus steps to get back from the shops!
