October 2008 - This place is a real secret. Forget about about staying in Positano or Amalfi if you really wish to enjoy peace and quiet in a wonderful town and a wonderful home. For the Amalfi coast, this is my place. I will come back each year and bring friends.

The home, the view, the owner were all 5 star plus. The home is huge and with every convenience you need to enjoy yourself. You are halfway between Amalfi, Ravello and Positano and can get there by bus in less than 10 minutes. You don't need a car because the the bus comes every 30 minutes and you can catch it 5 minutes from the house.

Do yourself a huge favor, stay here and you will not be disappointed.

You provide a wonderful service. Excellent. You have really helped me to choose a wonderful place. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • Don't rent a car, you will not need it.

April 2008 - Casa Concetta was a perfect spot for our group (2 couples) to spend a week on the Amalfi Coast.

The apartment was fully equipped (with the exception of needing a few wine glasses) and we were able to prepare some great meals.

We really appreciated the wonderful garden patio, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the panoramic view.

The apartment was clean, spacious and well located (very convenient to catch the local bus). The landlords were helpful but not obtrusive, and offered good advice about transportation.

We would highly recommend Casa Concetta, both for the excellent amenities and the reasonable price point.

I am impressed with your organization. The website is extremely well laid out and user friendly. The range of properties and prices is second to none, and the detailed documentation you provided was impressive. I will highly recommend your agency to fellow travelers.

Travel tips

  • The nearby macelleria (butcher) offered wonderful meats and was very helpful. Many of the local alimentaris (grocery shops) had fresh pasta and veggies (and lots of terrific wine), as well as home made pestos and sauces.
  • I would also recommend traveling with a good Italian phrase book, and making an attempt to communicate in the native language. We found people to be very helpful and appreciative of our attempts to speak the language.

April 2008 - We enjoyed the stay at Casa Concetta & found it spacious & quiet & well equipped for the 4 of us ( 2 couples).

The local bus was convenient & inexpensive & the nearby grocery store was very handy.

I think 'Summer in Italy' did an excellent job of presenting the property & everything turned out to be as promised.

Travel tips

  • The 24 hr bus ticket allows unlimited travel between Sorrento & Salerno & is excellent value... you can explore the whole coast.
  • Be sure to visit Capri, Ravello & Salerno as well as Positano & Amalfi.
  • Take the bus from Positano up to Nocelle & walk back to Praiano on the 'Sentiero degli Dei' Hiking trail.

September 2007 - I could not have been happier with my choice of Casa Concetta. I spent a month in Praiano and at Casa Concetta. It was just what I was looking for. I came home relaxed and refreshed to begin a new career.

The home was spotless and I was even surprised with fruit left for me on the terrace by the owners and updated bus schedules for my convenience. It was a truly wonderful experience!

Summer in Italy was most helpful. They responded quickly to my many questions and provided excellent feedback and tips for my stay.

You did an excellent job. The property was just as you described and your information to get there was excellent as well.

Travel tips

  • Be prepared for stair climbing.
  • The bus system in and out of Praiano was excellent. No need to rent a car.

May 2007 - We had a wonderful stay. The owners are lovely people and very hospitable. The location is great.

Being able to pick lemons and fresh vegetables from the garden was a bonus.

The villa had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Praiano village is quieter than other towns on the coast ans great for people who like to stay away from the main tourist areas but have easy access to them.

I thought your service and information was fantastic. The best booking agent we used in Italy.

Travel tips

  • If you like walking then the Path of Gods is a must. Visit the artist in the tower.
  • We enjoyed the restaurant Il Pirata down on the sea next to Paradiso restaurant and having a drink at sunset at the Bar del Sole.
  • Catch the local bus to Positano and a visit to Ravello is a must.

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed cooking classes at Mamma Agata's in Ravello and a day in Capri.
  • Shop the little grocery store and butcher at the foot of the steps.
  • The butcher had wonderful ravioli's that are easy and her own pork medallions already breaded.
  • Make lemonade from the lemon tree in your garden.

October 2006 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Concetta. The accommodation met all our expectations and was spotless and well decorated. The view over the sea was fantastic both from the dining room table and the garden terrace.

The small alimentari and macelleria [grocery store and butcher] just below Casa Concetta met all our needs for preparing meals at the villa and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Having the local bus stop just at the bottom of the steps made getting around very handy.

The fresh lemons from the tree in the garden provided excellent lemonade on a daily basis and was a nice touch.

Everything went as outlined in the information and directions etc. Both Summerinitaly and the hosts were excellent and made our holiday come off very smoothly and most enjoyable.

We would certainly go back again and would stay in Praiano and at Casa Concetta. The Amalfi coast is fabulous and using Casa Concetta as a base was wonderful.

Travel tips

  • Lots of steps and up and down hill walking so anyone staying here should be prepared. We found this was a great way to get our daily exercise.

September 2006 - We loved Casa Concetta. It gave us a real slice of Italian life.

The garden - our host gave us permission to harvest anything we liked - was wonderful!

Raffaele(our host) went out of his way to see to our every need, such as carrying our bags up to the house and transferring us to the next apartment we had rented.

Casa Concetta was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We would recommend it most highly if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of the main town. We got plenty of exercise climbing the hills and steps. It was wonderful.

Summer in Italy is a great rental agency. We have recommended it to many folks.

August 2006 - We had a wonderful time.

Parking the rental car was a challenge on some nights, but the local SITA bus came right to the front door. Our villa was very centrally located, so we could venture up and down the coast with relative ease.

Mrs. Antoinette [the owner] was so accommodating. She and her husband would pick fresh vegetables and leave them on our patio steps every morning. When we could not get our cell phone to work, she loaned us one of her phones so that we could contact her should the need arise.

We are all made to feel welcome and we were very happy during our entire stay.

I plan to rent again from Summer In Italy and have shared your web site with all of my friends and acquaintances. The photos were not deceptive and we were very pleased to discover this fact.

July 2006 - A lovely house. An excellent welcome. Nice people around. Handy shops.

Beach in Praiano not very good. Better to take the bus (20 mns) to go to Positano.

Corresponded to description. Very good service from Summer in Italy.

June 2006 - Casa Concetta exceeded our expectations. The location was a little out of the way, but the view and the hospitality from the locals far outweighed this.

I would highly recommend Case Concetta.

Keep up the good work you are all very helpful.

June 2006 - We just returned from an extended stay at Casa Concetta and we want to thank you for your help in arranging our vacation in Italy. We also want to recommend the property. The house turned out to be much nicer and bigger than we expected -- spotlessly clean, nicely furnished, well maintained, with modern bathrooms and a small but workable kitchen – a perfect place for two or even three couples. It has everything – firm mattresses, linens, towels, dishes, pots and kitchen utensils, as well as a washing machine. The views of the coastline, the sea and the mountains from the patio garden and top floor, are breathtaking. Absolutely spectacular!!

The owners of the house, Antoinette (Tina) and Raffaele, are exceptionally warm and welcoming. They both speak English well and were wonderfully helpful throughout our stay. They informed us about the local scene – church festivals, local soccer matches, shopping and restaurants. A bonus at Casa Concetta is the large vegetable garden with a lemon tree in the middle that provided the fixings for fresh lemonade every day. The owners often left freshly picked vegetables at our doorstep, and also invited us to help ourselves to whatever produce was ripe. Get Tina to share some of her recipes. Using her suggestions and the fresh garden vegetables, we cooked some pretty terrific meals. We never went hungry.

We liked that Casa Concetta is located in the upper part of Praiano, away from hustle-bustle of the main Amalfi coast road. Just a few minutes walk from the house and down a 60-step staircase are three shops – a small grocery, butcher and hardware store – that provided all of our day-to-day needs. Be sure to try the local wines. We found the shopkeepers and local residents of Praiano friendly and helpful and, even if language was sometimes a challenge, everyone made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Most often we walked the ten minutes down a steep road to the bars, restaurants and internet point in the lower part of Praiano, known as Vettica. If you don’t want to walk, then just a minute from the door of Casa Concetta, there is a stop for the local bus that goes down to Vettica and, more importantly, comes back up. The ride is only one euro and for that euro you can also stay on the bus for the ride to Positano.

We are extremely happy that we chose to stay in Praiano (and at Casa Concetta), which is situated midway between Amalfi and Positano, two larger and far more touristy towns on the Amalfi coast. Praiano proved to be the perfect starting point for exploring the coast. We walked a lot, climbed lots of steps, went to the beach, bussed to other villages, and even hiked the well-marked mountain trails above the town, for which there are good maps available at the local Tabac. But, at the end of the day, we were always glad to get back to the peace and tranquillity of Casa Concetta and Praiano, and relax with a glass of vino.

We also would like to highly recommend Summer in Italy. Our trip was made much easier because the Summer in Italy web site is well laid out and provided us with all the information necessary to choose among the rental properties and prepare for our trip. In addition, the Summer in Italy staff were very helpful in promptly answering all our questions before our departure for Italy, including questions unrelated to the rental properties. We are very appreciative. Thank you.

March 2006 - Casa Concetta was a charming place to stay. The owners were kind and solicitous. It was cold while we were there and the beds had been made up with extra blankets, plus there were additional blankets in the closet. There were lots of extra towels in both baths, and it was GREAT to find some coffee and a small coffee maker so we could make coffee while we figured out what we needed at the market!

The washing machine was a plus, and I continue to gaze at the photo of our laundry hanging in the breeze with a lemon tree as the backdrop!

I have some arthritis in my knees and feet, so the climb up the stairs to the house, and just generally, the climb down to and up from Praiano proper was sometimes difficult. However, stops to enjoy the view all along the way certainly made the walk worth it!

I highly recommend Casa Concetta for larger parties (it sleeps six--and four EXTREMELY comfortably).

Your customer service is really excellent and I have referred your company to several friends interested in staying in the Sorrento/Amalfi area.

I found you on the internet, which is brilliant for me. You make things very easy.

October 2005 - We loved our time at Casa Concetta. It was the perfect way to end our very busy trip.

The Casa is lovely -- nicely furnished, the bed comofortable, the bath terrific. And, Tina, the owner, was helpful, friendly, interesting -- really an added bonus. To our surprise and delight, her English was great. She even picked us up at the bus stop and then drove us back down. She made the experience even better.

We loved Priano -- and the views!!! Spectacular. It was a great choice for us.

You people at Summer In Italy were just great! You helped us out at the last minute and found us a lovely accomodation. You were responsive and accessible. Thanks so much.

September 2005 - This is a beautiful villa that the pictures do not do justice to.

When we arrived the owner was more than kind to us and made us feel extremely welcome. We were very excited on arrival to see the house was even better then we expected. The main bedroom being beautifully furnished and the terrace especially was very pleasant with an extra large dining table and several chairs and a fantastic view of the sea.

As for getting around we didn't need a car (we were here in early September) but you do need to have some degree of mobility. We were fearful we would be somewhat stranded without a car but a local shop and butchers selling everything you could need were less then five minutes walk away. We enjoyed going here as the owners were incredibly helpful and pleasant. The local restaurants and bars are about 10 - 20 minutes walk down a steep hill(got us fitter) and the local bus which stops just down a few steps from the house took us to one of the most beautiful little beaches 'Praia' 10 minutes away.

If you are looking for the bustle of tourism then Praiano isn't for you but we were more than happy to be in this lovely village and villa and had no desire to be anywhere else.

We will be returning in the future.

October 2004 - We really enjoyed Casa Concetta! It was exactly as described and better than the pictures revealed.

It overlooked the water, up the hills in Praiano, and when we were there, we could see both the sun rise and sun set over the water. It was amazing.

We were up the big hill, but we wanted to have that privacy and the view was truly wonderful.

We would definitely book with you again!

October 2004 - It is a perfect place to spend a holiday, so long as you like climbing steps. The owners are wonderful people - very caring and attentive, and they let us cook with anything we found in the garden.

I would recommend Casa Concetta to any able bodied person. Some friends came for a day, and one of them reacted to seeing the place with: "I want to live here!" a sentiment we could all echo. We were very sad to go.

Everything about the place is in perfect working order, and all the fixtures have been selected with taste and an eye on quality.

I love having the sun reflecting in my face off the Mediterreanean as I eat my breakfast.

October 2004 - Casa Concetta was a wonderful oasis. It was clean, spacious and modern. It was at the top of the hill in Praiano so it required a lot of walking on steep paths. The local bus which could take you up and down the hill was not convenient so we used it only once.

The location did make the house quieter than if it had been on the main road down the hill.

Casa Concetta's terrace was not large but the view was excellent, and it was a treat to have garden vegetables available.
