July 2012 - Very pleasant, quiet place to stay on the otherwise busy Amalfi coast.

Owners were really helpful, generous with their time.

The common terrace area was outstanding.

Easy to move around the coast, to Sorrento and Pompei by public transportation.

Would recommend this place highly.

You did a great job, couldn't ask for better. Special thanks to Luca and Andrea for saving the start of our vacation with a prompt reply when I emailed them from Fiumicino for help when I discovered we had left the contract and information about arriving at Casa Anna A at home!

Travel tips

  • Good restaurant: Costa Diva, right across the street.
  • The ceramics shop downstairs has some wonderful pieces.
  • Day trip to Pompei is a must: about an hour to Sorrento by bus, then 30 minutes by train to Pompei. Get the guided tour just outside train station. Susy was an excellent guide. After, walk up the hill on the road near the train station where there are better restaurants than on the strip immediately outside the exit.
  • I recommend visiting the paper museum in Amalfi. Very interesting and educational tour, and lovely and unusual gifts of high-quality handmade paper.
  • Ravello is beautiful: catch the bus to Ravello in Amalfi. Visit the Villa Rufolo.
  • Highly recommend not driving on Amalfi coast. Get the bus schedule (search SITA bus schedule online): it works surprisingly well and allows you to see the beautiful scenery rather than keeping your eyes glued to the crazy road and drivers.

June 2010 - My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa Anna A. The apartment is nice and the view from the terrace is amazing.

The owner has a wonderful roof top garden and let us use some of her basil.

The location also makes it easy to catch a bus to Positano and Amalfi.

We highly recommend staying here!

I will recommend this site to others visiting Italy. We had a great experience.

Travel tips

  • You have to drive through Praiano to La Praia to find the apartment. The bus stop is nearby and there are great restaurants in Praiano. Try Restaurant La Strada, we had a wonderful meal and it isn't listed on Trip Advisor.

June 2009 - I enjoyed Casa Anna A very much.

The owners were very friendly and most helpful. The apartment was in excellent condition and very clean.

I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to stay.

Travel tips

  • Be prepared to walk on the road daily to get into town and back or you can take the local bus.
  • If arriving by train, we recommend Salerno not Sorrento. It is prettier and you do not have to take the metro in Napoli which is unpleasant and a long journey. Yes, there are 2 buses but it is a much more pleasant journey.

October 2007 - We enjoyed it very much.

The apartment was very clean. I liked being able to make coffee and light dinner. The owners were very helpful and pleasant.

Friends had stayed here previously and told us that the road was noisy, however, I pictured the road being in a little town, not the main road for the Amalfi coast, so there was more traffic and noise than expected.

September 2007 - The apartment is fine and Anna and her son are very helpful and pleasant.

The advantage is that the unit is right on the main road so no endless steps to get to the apartment. The disadvantage is that buses roll by at all hours, and scooter noise is never-ending. My wife had a hard time getting a good night's sleep.

Small TV, and there were no non-Italian stations available.

For the price, the value is OK. We visited with a friend who was in Italy at the same time, and for about 100 Euros more, the difference was major. This is a clean, but very basic property.

Casa Marina next door, with a large patio, is a much nicer property.

Travel tips

  • Excellent easy access, but a bit noisy, mostly scooters and buses.
  • A fair stroll from the center of Praiano.
  • The beach at Marina di Praia is about a 15 minute walk away, and a nice spot, go early in the day though, as the sun gets obscured by the rock cliffs at about 2:30. Cost for 2 beach chairs and an umbrella is 13 Euros
  • good selection of places to eat at the beach.

June 2007 - We had a great time at Casa Anna: friendly hosts and a great, clean, spacious, apartment. We would recommend the area and site highly.

We were very happy with the property, keep it secret so that too many tourists don't find it!

Travel tips

  • Enjoy the quiet of a working Amalfi coast village without being wall to wall with other tourists.
  • Make sure you buy the fresh fruit and food from Tutto per Tutti food store.

June 2006 - Very lovely place in the best part of Praiano (near the beach).

The hosts are very lovely people and most helpful in all ways.

The traffic is a bit noisy but considering the perfect location and the modest price it’s absolutely a good budget alternative!

May 2006 - Thanks for the way it was all organised. The process followed by Summer in Italy works brilliant.

Casa Anna A is a great place in a great location with enough comfort to make it a very pleasant stay.

May 2006 - It was perfect for our needs. We wanted view and location.

The people were fantastic. We felt like part of the family.

I found Casa Anna by typing in villa rentals in Italy. You have made it so easy and your website is very well formatted. It's been a pleasure and we do plan to return.

April 2006 - Anna is wonderful -- she showed us around and gave us a bottle of wine and a big bowl of fresh fruit as welcome presents. The kitchen is small (and no oven) but she left it stocked with all you need, plus essentials like olive oil, vinegar, coffee and sugar. Though Anna doesn't speak much English, her daughter-in-law, who works in the ceramics shop below, is fluent, and helpful.

The location was great -- the main road goes right by it so it can be noisy, but is always interesting. In the evening, you can watch shopkeepers come out and talk. Also, there are lovely ceramics to buy in the shop. Walk up the stairway/street near the apartment to find the grocery store, "Tutto per Tutti" (ask people on the way where it is) -- it's closed in the early afternoon -- It's a delightful place to shop and everything is very fresh.

We did find walking on the main road into town (about 1 km. away) too stressful, so we found a way to climb the hillside streets and make our way into town. It's good if you have strong legs, enjoy the views and are not in a rush.

The Bar de Sole in town is THE place for morning cafelatte or cappuccino and cornetto and people watching, with a great view of the duomo, Positano and the Mediterranean.

We loved Praiano and decided it was the best place to be on the Amalfi Coast. Be sure you say "buon giorno" to shopkeepers and everyone you pass on the street.

I felt very confident about the arrangements and everything worked out great. You were recommended by the Slow Travel web site, and it was a justified recommendation. What a nice organization! Grazie tanto.

October 2005 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Anna A!

It was a nice, clean villa and the owner Anna and her family were wonderful. They were always friendly and helpful, especially their helper Laura.

There was easy access getting around with the bus stop being close and lots of places within walking distance.

Please tell the family we said hi and will have many fond memories of our stay.

Summer In Italy has been fantastic! We've used them our past three visits to Italy and they have made everything so easy. They provide so much information and any questions are quickly answered in a professional way. Summer in Italy is the first place we go to when we start planning our next trip!

July 2005 - I had an excelelnt time. The owner was very very friendly and helpful and there was English-speaking staff working in her shop next to the villa.

The location was excellent and the view of the sea was gorgeous.

I would highly recommend it for a base to see the Amalfi coast as it is locted between Positano and Amalfi.

June 2005 - I loved being there -- it is a bit noisy because of motor bikes and being right on the road, but that felt like part of the whole experience.

The view of the ocean is perfect, and the morning light into the main bedroom was excellent.

The kitchen was a little too tiny and difficult to use, especially if you have a third person (as we did) using the foldout bed.

But I'd definitely return to the casa. Anna [the owner] and her assistant in the downstairs pottery shop were lovely people.

June 2004 - My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at Casa Anna A.

We were initially greeted by Anna, a very warm and friendly lady. When we arrived, she offered an espresso, which we thoroughly enjoyed. She then helped us to our appartment and it was everything (and more) that we hoped it would be.

The view from our balcony was magnificent!

Praiano is well situated between Positano and Amalfi. Several nearby restaurants make the stay at Casa Anna most enjoyable.

The bus ride along the scenic coast is wonderful and exciting at times.

Please tell Anna that we enjoyed our stay at her home and that we are continuing to remember Praiano with the ceramic from their shop.

I want to thank Summerinitaly for all that they did for my family and I have already recommended the website to our friends. It was a very positve and memorable week.
