October 2011 - Our stay at Appartamento Caleo H was excellent. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The sunsets were FANTASTIC with a clear view across the Tyrrhenian Sea.

We would recommend our friends to staying there.

Our first experience booking with Summer In Italy has been great. The newsletter has been very useful with tips about life in Italy (including information about the tiny ants)! The directions to find the apartment were also very helpful.

Travel tips

  • There is a small SISA supermarket to the right of the first junction in town (from the apartment).
  • Further into town there is a good cafe/bar on the right (Lucciola). There are a number of good restaurants including "Vecchia America" (opposite the church), "Mediterraneo" beyond the church at the end of the promenade, and the excellent "Boccaccio" on the right before "Mediterraneo".
  • We enjoyed the walk in to Acciaroli (when we didn't drive) and the town has plenty to interest everyone, even towards the end of the season.
  • The whole area is great for sight-seeing – the Cilento National Park, archaeological sites at Velia and Paestum, larger towns of Agropoli and Castellabate are also close. The Amalfi coast is within striking distance, but should be planned as part of a stop-over.
