September 2009 - Excellent place for getting to know Tuscany, nearby Florence, Siena and a lot of magic medieval villages, in the heart of picturesque country.

Friendly owners, perfect services, one of the best holidays.

I have found you by accident but I am planning to ask you for your help in future again and to recommend you to my friends. Thank you.

August 2009 - We had a splendid time during our stay at Appartamento Reginaldo F and can recommend it most highly.

The view alone from the property makes it worth a look, but the villa itself is in excellent condition and the staff very friendly and helpful.

The only problem we had was with the mosquitoes and wasps (bring your anti-mosquito arsenal - repellent, citronella candles, etc.) Our particular property had a little patio of its own where we enjoyed eating breakfast every morning before a dip in the gorgeous, lotus-lined pool.

An added bonus was the availability of Raccianello's own wines and olive oil. Their Chianti Superiore is some of the best Chianti we have ever had.

We would definitely return to Raccianello for a future Tuscan getaway.

Summer in Italy is without doubt the best site of its kind we have ever used. Thank you for the prompt communication and helpful tips, and especially for checking up on the nearest tennis courts for us.

Travel tips

  • There is a footpath leading through some lovely woods and fields to the town of San Gimignano (about 25 minute walk.) We recommend walking as parking in town is extremely difficult. In town, don't miss the gelateria on the Piazza della Cisterna, featuring award-winning chocolate ice cream.
  • Near the villa is a restaurant with a terrace in Racciano where the food is classically Tuscan and the quality top-notch.
  • Siena is an easy day trip away, as is the medieval town of Volterra.
  • One of our favorite things to do, though, was to lounge around the pool area and walk through the local vineyards!
