Excellent

October 2013 - We loved Appartamento Plinia A. When we first arrived I was afraid it was going to be noisy but when we got to our apartment, it was very quiet.

The people who worked there were very friendly and accommodating. The location was awesome.

Travel tips

  • This is not a large place but it is great and you will love the location. It is safe, clean and quiet!

Fantastic

September 2013 - It was a wonderful location and the management was very nice and helpful. We asked for a different location after the first night and were moved to Villa Plinia E, which is a quieter room. The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating on this. We were very pleased and would stay there again.

Travel tips

  • There are two studio apartments, Villa Plinia A and Villa Plinia E - ask for the one on the fourth floor, Villa Plinia E. Villa Plinia A is beside the office and was noisy.

Fantastic

March 2013 - Apartment Plinia A is an apartment in an apartment block. Unlike many self-catering establishments, however, there is a regularly manned reception office on the first floor that adds a distinct hotel-style advantage. Members of the managerial staff are absolutely delightful – my wife and I felt more like guests in the home of friends than mere tenants in a rented apartment.

Plinia A is a studio apartment, newly refurbished, with a separate bathroom (shower, toilet, bidet, and sink). The kitchenette (fridge, cupboards, hot-plates, and sink) is to one side of the living-bedroom area. Sliding glass doors lead onto a quite private balcony.

As a couple, we found the space most adequate with sufficient wardrobe space for our needs. The kitchenette had all the necessities for meal preparation and the queen bed was really comfortable.

Above all, the location is amazing. From the Sorrento Circumvesuviana Railway Station, we easily reached the building on foot in less than ten minutes where we were welcomed and taken via elevator to our apartment. The railway station is also the location for catching the SITA buses that serve the Amalfi Coast, thus also placing them less than ten minutes away. Local buses are even closer. In the opposite direction, it is just a five-minute walk to the Foreigners' Club for tourist information, to places to sit and gaze across the bay, and to the elevator to Marina Piccola and marine transport to Capri.

For us, "back to Sorrento" would also mean "back to Plinia A".

There is always a certain anxiety when first dealing with a hitherto unknown rental company in a foreign country, particularly when money is involved. The immediate replies from Summer in Italy that we received, signed by an actual person (Luca, in this case), along with the specific contact information and the clear details regarding costs were therefore quite reassuring.

Travel tips

  • From Sorrento, there is a direct and regular train service to Naples, Herculaneum, and Pompeii.
  • There is also a direct and regular bus service to the Amalfi Coast – Positano, Praiano, Furore, Amalfi, and beyond to Atrani, Minori, Maiori, and Salerno -- plus the marine transport to Capri. A location in Sorrento like that of Apartment Plinia A, places all of this at your doorstep -- and not to be forgotten, of course, is Sorrento itself.

Unfortunately, Appartamento Plinia A can not be booked at this time.
