Fantastic

May 2015 - We enjoyed Appartamento Dionigi - position was perfect and private!

Very impressed with all the info and feedback we received from Summer In Italy which kept us updated and well informed.

Travel tips

  • Supermarket close-by with wine/beer and food essentials.
  • Excellent restaurants right outside the door and several others nearby.
  • Walked most of time to see all the sights which were nearby also.
  • Trip to wineries - Chianti & San Gimignano tour.

Very good

October 2013 - We enjoyed it very much and the owners were just a couple of doors up so we could get information etc from them - they were very helpful.

Great location to explore Siena, shop locally, and also access the Tuscany region.

Travel tips

  • Very close to everything in Siena and very quiet and peaceful apartment.
  • We went on a wineries tour which was great and also went to San Gimignano on the local bus - interesting but a few hours there is enough.
  • Take some games to play as (of course) all TV is Italian.

September 2011 - The apartment is in an ideal location -- all the main sites of culture are a mere stroll away.

The attached courtyard garden is delightful and ideal for summer evenings. The kitchen is tiny, the rest of the apartment spacious. There is no air conditioning but adequate fans are provided. It's quiet with a security door to the apartment block and has a lift as well as stairs.

The owners were very friendly and we had a most enjoyable stay.

This apartment and the one we booked in Florence exceeded our expectations, and we were more than happy with your service.

June 2011 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The apartment is spacious, clean and very quiet. It is very central and everything is within walking distance.

The owners are friendly and helpful.

We would definitely recommend Appartamento Dionigi to other people and we hope to return for another stay there sometime in the future...

May 2011 - We were absolutely thrilled with the accommodations! It was exactly like the photos... which is always a question. We knew precisely what we were getting. And it turned out to be so much more! After all, we had the great pleasure of sharing the garden with you folks! What a treat!

The location simply could not have been better. It was perfection. Even when we opted to stay 'home' and relax a bit, it was a delightful atmosphere to spend time in; very comfortable in all aspects.

The kitchen was well-appointed and we lacked nothing in the way of utensils, dishes, pots/pans, etc.

I would definitely use Summer in Italy again. You were very responsive to our needs and were quite helpful. We were making our reservations for Siena in January, and found nothing available for our dates until we stumbled across your website. It saved us from having to change our dates and allowed us to stay in one place for the duration instead of necessitating a move to another location midway through our stay.

Travel tips

  • Take advantage of the Tuscan School of Wine, which is just a few doors away. The class we took was very informative, well-organized, and our instructor was thorough, knowledgeable and highly entertaining. I'd highly recommend it.
  • We enjoyed wondering through the side streets, enchanted by what we found. And, of course, the duomo!
  • I would have to say that Rick Steves' book is an absolute necessity. We'd gotten another guide book that had a mere 3 paragraphs on Siena! So picked up Steves' book while we were there
  • money well spent!
  • Another day trip was a tour of the greater Tuscan area, which included a winery visit for tasting, a couple of lovely churches and a visit/demonstration with a fine glass etcher/glass blower. Our guide, Anna, was thoroughly entertaining and quite a historian. It was a long day, but well worth it. This also was mentioned in Rick Steves' book.
  • We found Internet access tucked inside a small scarf shop, which allowed us to easily stay in touch with family and friends, as we were traveling without electronics.

October 2010 - We enjoyed our stay - the apartment is very comfortable. It's so quiet that we all slept until noon one day!

The location is excellent, right in the middle of it all.

The owner was very hospitable and responsive.

If I come to Siena in the future, I would book this apartment again.

All the arrangements went smoothly, from booking to reception to additional questions during our stay, and to the convenient return of our deposit. We booked with you because you had a property that met our needs. I found Summer in Italy to be professional, easy to book with, responsive and welcoming. I would definitely book with you again.

Travel tips

  • The apartment didn't have any staples aside from coffee. If you plan to eat there, you will need to bring everything. There is a small grocery store at the corner.
  • The apartment doesn't have Internet but there is an Internet cafe nearby.
  • We ended up remaking the sofabed so we could sleep with our heads at the foot of the bed as that was more comfortable than the other way around.

September 2010 - A most excellent apartment of classic charm, well appointed and decorated, and extremely well located, being very close indeed to the major Sienese attractions.

It is owned and managed by an extremely friendly and helpful (and largely English-speaking) family, acquaintance with whom is an absolute pleasure.

We will most definitely look to rent this apartment again if we are lucky enough to be able to return to Siena.

Travel tips

  • The owners have a secure garage opposite the apartment, and Internet access in their family's business office a few doors down. These are available strictly at the owners' discretion/convenience, so, if relevant, discuss before you arrive.
  • You will almost inevitably visit the Campo and the cathedral during your stay (and quite rightly!), but do not miss the old hospital building opposite the cathedral: it looks unprepossessing from the outside, but is a revelation of art and architecture inside.
