Vezio is a charming hamlet of stone buildings clustered around its ancient castle. The Castello di Vezio is the centerpiece of the town, with its high walls, central tower and drawbridge. The crenellated roof line gives it a fabled appearance. Walk the ramparts and enjoy the commanding views of Lake Como. The castle also has a raptor center where you can view the falcons and owls. Every Saturday evening in the summer they host a Cena in Terrazza (Dinner on the Terrace) which is worth reserving for a magical experience.

Of Ligurian-Celtic origins, Vezio is administratively part of the town of Perledo. The village is compact with stone houses huddled up together; about 50 people live here year round! But it's a beautiful hamlet on a little spur on the lake. There are a couple of good restaurants and coffee bars in town.

Vezio is just minutes from Perledo, where you'll find shops and services. It's also very close to Varenna, with more eateries and stores, along with the port where you can catch ferries to other points on Lake Como. In fact, this is a great location at "mid point" on the lake, just above the branch-off of the southern part of lake, making for easy access to the other towns.
