The little seaside fishing hamlet of Sant'Elia is picture-perfect, with houses huddled on rocks around the cove. It started life as a factory and homes for the old tonnara (tuna processing). The bay is beautiful, with splendid views and atmosphere. The water varies from intense blue to emerald green.

The cove is a natural marvel and inviting to jump into. It is mostly rocks and reef with a small swath of sandy beach in the middle. But what an experience and ambiance! Along the Via dei Cantieri in the shadow of a former watch tower there are some pebble-sand mix beach portions along with services and cafes. From there (with parking) there is a path across the promontory to the cala (cove). Or walk along Via Torre to find it.
