A warm and welcoming restaurant in the village of Castel del Piano, the owners serve typical Tuscan dishes at reasonable prices. Pop into the stone-built space for a homey experience. The dining room is charming and service is friendly. The wife is in the kitchen preparing time-honored recipes with fresh ingredients, everything made by hand. Try the mixed antipasto plate which gives you a taste of several delicacies, and the pici, a long thick pasta stand that is found in Tuscany. Meats are grilled to perfection, and fresh vegetables highlight the meal, too. Desserts are special and made in house.

Prices are very reasonable; book in advance as the Taverna is small and fills up fast. It is just off Piazza Madonna.
