Restaurant Santo SpiritoRistorante Santo Spirito is near the caverns of Castelcivita', in the mountains of the Cilento National Park. The traditional recipes of the hills and fruits of the forests are utilized here, with porcini mushrooms playing a particularly starring role in many plates. The tagliatelle, handmade noodles, with porcini sauce and the mushroom and bean soup are house specialties. They serve local lamb, which is very tender and flavorful, and the area's special hybrid of potato (la patata di Castelcivita'). The restaurant has been in business since 1981 and consistently serves good food with friendly service. The modern structure is large and hosts banquets and ceremonies so atmosphere is a little on the sterile side, but the food more than makes up for that. If you're visiting the caverns, this is a good stop for lunch. Closed Monday.
