Michelin-starred Restaurant Don Alfonso 1890, in Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, is one of the prime destinations for Italian or foreign gourmets.

Don Alfonso Iaccarino and sons offer understated Mediterranean magic from basic Italian ingredients - tomatoes, olives, herbs, lemons - grown on their own organic farm.

The kitchen is lovely, with its coloured tiles, and ask for a visit to the cellars, dig in tuff and going underground for more then 30 meters. It is a unique experience, not only for the extensive collection of great wines, but also for the rooms that house them.

Their dishes are unique, refined yet simple, like the tasty morsels of ricotta cheese and nettles with a gourmand fish consommé, or their mosaic of cheeses.
