The tiny hamlet of Marina del Cantone has always been tied to the sea, and its patron saint festival celebrates the village's heritage. The church dedicated to Sant'Antonio da Padova was built in 1646. The village celebrates his feast day with a procession through town and then boating procession, taking the saint's statue aboard and sailing around the bay. The centuries-old tradition is beautiful to behold.

After, there is a sagra on the beach with plenty of food and music and dancing. Then, the gara dei bozzi -wooden boat competition, sort of like a Palio on the water. There is also a rally for the pedal boats and canoes, too. It's a lot of spirited small-town fun!

The Feast of St Anthony (Sant'Antonio da Padova) is held on June 13.
