Lovely district of Foiano della Chiana, nearby Arezzo, Pozzo della Chiana is a very small but cosy village, famous for the suggestive evoking of the cruel Scannagallo battle (between May and June).

In 1554 that battle opened the doors of Siena to the city of Florence, and this splendid revival remembers the days that built up the region of Tuscany as it currently is.

The historical trekking, following the footsteps of the troops from Foiano to Pozzo, with sudden assaults, populace and mercenaries animate will animate the Saturday afternoon.

The dinner at the mercenaries field and the stick 'palio', accompany everybody until late in the night. More than 300 walk-ons liven up the historic evoking, with the spectacular plundering of Valdichiana, the lovely parade in historical costumes, the battle array of pikemen, arquebusiers and culverins... in the night the Captain dinner with the unfailing jesters and flag-wavers will make you relive the Renaissance as you've never experienced before!
