This lively piazza is in the intellectual center of the city. Piazza Bellini is surrounded by universities, including the Accademia delle Belle Arti (Fine Arts Academy), the Music Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella, and the Universita' degli Studi di Napoli. That makes this a hip and hopping spot, abuzz with students, literary types and musicians. The piazza is named for composer Vincenzo Bellini, whose statue stands proudly here.

If you want a taste of ancient history with your outing, you can gaze upon the remains of a Greek wall, the remnants of Magna Grecia's ancient city of Neapolis. Otherwise, sit at one of the sidewalk cafes and enjoy a drink while listening to the music du jour, or people watching. Caffe Intra Moenia provides books to peruse while you sip a glass of vino or a cappuccino.

Piazza Bellini is near the Cappella Sansevero, Piazza Dante, and the Church of Santa Maria di Constantinopoli.
