A tree-lined parkway that skirts the seafront of downtown Salerno, the Lungomare Trieste is a favorite spot for locals to promenade. Extending along the Mediterranean for two kilometers, the green grassy park is studded with palm trees and provides a breezy, sun-dappled pathway for walking while enjoying the views and sea air. There are some palaces, restaurants and cafes along the way on the street, though the Lungomare itself is pedestrian only.

The popular promenade starts at the main port and meanders along the waterfront to the boat marina and Piazza Concordia, where there is a sailor's monument.
