Despite its piazza location under a portico facing Ferrara's castle, this is a down-home restaurant at heart. Try the area's classics on offer, starting with the platter of mixed cured meats and cheese. The house-made passatelli pasta with mushrooms and saffron, or pumpkin gnocchi in four-cheese sauce are a few pasta examples, and polpette (meatballs) in pepper sauce, or the house specialty called salamina da sugo are classic main courses. The restaurant sits in Piazza Estense and is easy to find, and offers a good caliber of food at good price point.
