In the heart of Genoa, this historic cafe and pastry shop is a step back to another time. Escape the hectic world for a few minutes (or an hour or so!) and enjoy a crafted cocktail (hence the "liquoreria" part of the name) at the marble-clad bar, where both classic cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks can be enjoyed.

Located in the elegant Loggia Gattilusio it's been here since 1780, changing names along the way but never losing its Old World charm and focus on a nice relaxing break. The Cavo Pasticceria is famous as the birthplace of the quaint paper-wrapped Amaretti di Voltaggio cookies.

The stalwart cafe is the perfect place for a morning coffee and pastry. Lunch is a nice affair here, as is the afternoon tea, with a nicer than usual selection. And of course evening apertif is a fine tradition.
