Parabita may be a small town but it has a heavy-hitting art gallery tucked inside the Palazzo Ferrari. The works and collection of local artist Enrico Giannelli shows off 43 paintings and 10 sculptures, along with a library of artistic coins, books, exhibit catalogs, photos and portraits.

The artist was born in nearby Alezio in 1854 to a well-off family. He abandoned his classical studies to enroll at the Instituto delle Belle Arti in Napoli, studying under some of the premier Neapolitan artists of the time and developing his natural skills for drawing and painting. He started winning awards and participating in national expos and reached a level of esteem for his art. He particularly loved landscapes and seascapes, focusing on the Gulf of Naples and the Puglia coast. He also designed some special coins for the Kingdom of Italy.

In 1924, he donated his collection to the Comune to be displayed for future generations. Today, in Palazzo Ferrari you can see the evolution of his skills and his impressive landscapes, and more.
