The best souvenirs are those artisan products that are unique and handmade, and that help you relive the wonderful time you spent in a place. On Lake Como, there are plenty of internationally-known designers' stores, but these small artisan shops in Bellagio are locally-based and produce unusual one-of-a-kind items.

I Vetri di Bellagio. Step inside a delicate wonderland at this glass store, where you'll find a colorful array of delightful Christmas ornaments, along with home decor items. All the products are produced in the old European tradition - mouth-blown or artisan-molded and hand-painted glass. Looking around is like being inside a kaleidoscope. You'll find beautiful bowls and bottles, vibrant vases and luminous lamps, along with the vast collection of holiday ornaments.

Quelli della Pelle. Luscious, luxuriantly soft leather and suede are the ingredients to this store's success, where handmade goods are crafted from only the best quality Italian leather. In business since 1978, they create hand-crafted shoes, purses, belts and wallets, on one of Bellagio's charming "salita" shopping streets, just off Piazza Mazzini.
Quelli della Pelle - Salita Serbelloni, 22; Phone: (+39) 031-951-304.

Pierangelo Masciadri. Designer Pierangelo Masciadri blends art and fashion using sumptuous silks to create flowy scarves, shawls, bags, ties and accessories. The special creations are inspired by the art, architecture and cultural heritage of his homeland to give fashion a unique artistic appeal. His ties have adorned the suits of presidents, princes and moguls.
Pierangelo Masciadri has two stores in Bellagio: Salita Mella, 19 and Via Roma, 12; Phone (+39) 031-952-173.
