A young, dynamic winery in the Valnerina of Umbria is creating intriguing vintages you should taste. With close ties to the land and to connecting wine with art, history and traditions, the Annesanti Winery is blending ancient and modern wine-making methods, to great results. Whether its the whites that use Grechetto, Malvasia and/or Trebbiano grapes, the rosato made from Barbera, or the hearty reds from Grechetto rosso, Barbera and Sangiovese, they're all worth trying. But the coup de resistance here is the Colle Fregiara vintage, made using Trebbiano Spoletino local heritage grape and aging it in terra cotta amphorae. Something special to try, for sure!
