What happens after you have booked your property?
Planning your vacation should be fun and relaxing. How will you know
that your reservation is really confirmed? What about the payments?
When will you get directions to reach the property? Who will hand you
the keys? How will the property owner know about your reservation?
What if you need to get in touch with us once you are in Italy?
Keep reading to find out...
Reservation
confirmation
As you reservation is entered into our system, a reservation
confirmation page is displayed in your browser. At the same time a
confirmation email is sent to the email address you have provided.
If you don't receive the confirmation email from
us within a few hours it is probably because the email address you
provided has been misspelled or is not working properly. In that
eventuality please contact us so that we can re-send the confirmation.
On the confirmation page you will find a link to our secure web
server, where you will be able to safely submit your credit card data,
as well as basic information on making the payment by wire
transfer. The confirmation email will also contain the detailed
information that your bank will need in order to make the transfer.
When you submit your credit card data you can
choose to charge the balance on that same credit card. If you do
choose that, we will charge the balance on the due date. When that
happens we will send you an email to let you know.
For a few of our properties, we do have to
double check availability. Both the confirmation page and the
confirmation email will show a special notice if this is the case with
your reservation.
We are usually able to double check availability within 24 hours.

Down
payment
As you would expect, once we receive your booking request we start
holding the property for you, so that no one else can reserve it. In
order for your booking to take effect, we need to receive a down
payment. As soon as the down payment is received (i.e. your credit
card is charged, or our bank informs us of your transfer, or your
Western Union/money transfer is received) we will send you email to let you know. Your
reservation is now fully confirmed, and we will inform the owner of the
property of your upcoming arrival! We will also forward to the owner any
special requests you might have (linens, towels, cots...), as well as
any changes to the date and time of your arrival/departure.

Balance
The balance for your reservation is due 60 days before the arrival
date.
If the arrival date is less than 60 days from when the booking is made,
then the balance is due at the time of booking.
If you chose to charge the balance on the same credit card used for the
down payment, we will do so on the due date. Otherwise we will send
you email to remind you that the payment is due. In both cases, as
soon as the balance is received we will send you email to confirm that
we have got it. We will also email you a voucher as a PDF file.
We send the voucher as a PDF file because many of our guests enjoy the
convenience of fast and direct email delivery and because it makes it
very easy to share the document with other people in your party who
might need it. However, if you are not able to open or print a PDF
document we can fax it to a number of your choice or we can send it
through postal mail: all you have to do is to let us know!
On the voucher you will find: directions to reach the property (as
well as maps when needed); the name and the phone number of both
the owner and the caretaker of the property; three different phone
numbers where you can reach us while you are in Italy (these are mobile
phones that are switched on 24/7, so you will always be able to get in
touch with us), and instructions on where you will meet the owner or the
caretaker when it is easier to meet at a place other than the property
itself. |
