• This applies to the coast generally, not just here. Don't hire a car! The roads (and the drivers!) are so difficult that getting around is quite stressful and the bus/taxi/boat systems work well.

• We chartered a small boat for a day to take us to Capri -- stopped for swimming several times, restaurant on island, shopping on island. Best day we had.
• Don't try to drive a large vehicle locally -- very scary -- small car ok.
• Take the local bus when possible.
• We spent a day on the beach at Hotel Tritone -- was great.

• No need for a car -- the public transportation was readily available and inexpensive.
• Be sure to shop at the local Alimentari 100 meters down the street and be sure to visit the larger market -- Il Tutto per Tutti.
