• The local coffee, fish shops, fruit and vegetables in Minori are excellent. Particularly, if you get to the fish shop before 9 am for the freshest produce.
• The local people are extremely polite and kind, particularly if you make an effort in trying to speak a little Italian.
• Walking is by far the best option followed by bus.
• My favourite tourist sight was Ravello. Very tranquil. The walk uphill was well worth it.
• Favourite restaurant was Restaurant Eolo.

• Rent a private boat for a trip to Capri and don't miss Paestum -- so much grander and less busy than Pompeii.

• Only advice I would offer is to bring supplies for your first evening if you arrive late on a Sunday. Not too much open (aside from restaurants) if you want to take advantage of your self-catering accommodation.

• Driving in Italy is not for the faint hearted so my advice is to take the bus if you can.
