Holiday Home Description

Villa Diora D is a characteristic and welcoming independent house surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. It sleeps four people. From Villa Diora D you will enjoy an enchanting view of the Tuscan hills and of the Chianti valley. Villa Diora D is 100 square meters (1076 square feet). It features a shared swimming pool, a private patio, a shared garden, winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.

You will be roughly 8 km (5 miles) from Gaiole in Chianti, where you will find restaurants and the shops.

To stay at Villa Diora D you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises, free of charge in a fenced covered parking space. Please note that access to Villa Diora D is along an 800-meter (half-a-mile) unpaved road.

Villa Diora is nestled in the Chianti countryside, surrounded by vineyards. The complex dates back to the sixteenth century and it is made up of a manor house, a farmhouse and a historic wine cellar. The manor house has been home to several italian historical figures since 1500. Its rooms are richly decorated and reproduce faithfully the old bygone times. The renovation works have preserved the charm of the past, although adding notes of modernity. Located in a panoramic position, it offers various amenities. The pool, overlooking a natural terrace, offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. The tennis court, that can be used for no extra free, is available to those guests who want to have fun and stay fit. The tennis court has a concrete surface and it is 24 m long by 11 m large.

Underneath the villa, dug into the rock, is the large historic cellar where a number of wines that are produced in the surrounding vineyards have been aged and refined for centuries. It is possible, upon request and for an extra fee, to visit the cellar and taste a selection of wines. If you really want to dive into the past, do not forget to visit the museum room, located on the ground floor of the villa. There you will find the exposition of some historical relics that will remind you of the lifestyle of the eighteenth century!

In addition, at a short distance from the apartments, a path will lead you to the family chapel dating back to the sixteenth century. The chapel, that features an elegant and romantic façade, can be used, upon request, to celebrate weddings.

In the old manor house you will find Diora A, B, C and F. Diora A is located on the whole ground floor and on the east wing of the Villa, on the first level. Diora F is on the first floor, on the west wing of the villa. Diora A and Diora F and are richly decorated. Diora B and C cover the second floor of the house. They can be reached through an antique internal staircase. Your privacy is severely preserved, as each apartment has a private entrance from a side of the main villa. Diora D and Diora E are part of the stone farmhouse, located in the garden, at a short distance from the swimming pool.

The whole complex can accommodate up to 31 guests. It is possible to use the whole complex as the venue of a wedding or other events.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is 5 meters (16 feet) large by 12 meters (39 feet) long, from 1.20 meter (4 feet) to 2.2 meters (7.2 feet) deep. The swimming pool area is equipped with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas, deck chairs and an external shower. From the swimming pool you will enjoy a splendid view of the Chianti hills. You will share the pool with the other guests staying at the complex. It is open from mid-May until mid-October.

Garden

The garden is 500 square meters (5380 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by trees. Here you will be able to have fun with a ping pong table. The garden is shared with the other guests staying at the complex.

Living Room

The furnishings of the living room are classic, and include some antique pieces. The furnishings include a sofa and two armchairs. There is an age-old fireplace made of bricks. In this room you will find a television. The room has a window with a view of the vegetation and of the hills.

Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a small refrigerator without freezer, a dishwasher, an Italian-style coffee-maker and a kettle. There is a table to seat four guests. The kitchen has a window with a view of the vegetation and of the hills.

Bedroom 1

You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the corridor. It has two French beds (120 cm/47 inches). The furnishings include an armchair. From the bedroom you will be able to enter the patio through a French door. The room has a window with a view of the vegetation and of the hills.

You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the corridor. It has two twin beds (80 cm/32 inches). The room has a window with a view of the vegetation and of the hills.

Bathroom

The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a bathtub with fixed shower head and a hairdryer. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the corridor.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Villa Diora D the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 500, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.

From March 1 to October 1: € 1.50 per person per night for the first 7 nights. Guests aged under 10 are exempt.
