Holiday Home Description

Villa Don Parafan is a characteristic ancient watch tower built sheer above the sea and with direct access to the sea. It sleeps ten people. From Villa Don Parafan you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi. Villa Don Parafan is 400 square meters (4300 square feet). It features a private swimming pool, direct access to the sea, wide private terraces with a view of the sea, a private garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.

You will be roughly 2 km (1.2 miles) from Maiori, where you will find restaurants, the shops, the beach and the tourist port. You will find the stop for the SITA bus Amalfi - Salerno line at 100 meters (330 feet). You will reach Villa Don Parafan from the parking area going down a short private walkway that cuts through the garden and includes approximately 230 stairway steps.

For a succesful stay at Villa Don Parafan we recommend having a car. You will be able to park it inside the entrance gate.

Villa Don Parafan is a large property situated approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) from the town of Maiori. It stands in a splendid panoramic spot, between the coastal road and the Mediterranean sea.

The property is made unique by an ancient Saracen tower, built in the XVI century. In ancient times pirate crews would scour the Amalfi coastline. The purpose of the tower was to alert the locals when a pirate sail would become visible at the horizon. The tower has been restored, keeping its character intact, and turned into an exclusive holiday mansion.

Staying at Villa Don Parafan you will be able to enter the sea directly at the property, thanks to a concrete platform that you will find at the foot of the cliff, as well as use the heated swimming pool, open all year round (additional cost may apply for heating the pool).

If you are considering Villa Don Parafan for your vacation, you should know that this villa has many stairway steps to negotiate. The property stretches from the coastal road all the way down to the water, and the cliff is rather steep. The pathways and the stairways that allow you to move around the grounds cut through a tract of uncommonly beautiful Mediterranean shrubs, with breathtaking views, but we can not recommend this villa if someone in your group is not able to handle the stairway steps.

The rooms are located in two buildings: the medieval tower and the annex. From the entrance gate you will reach the annex descending approximately 115 stairway steps. The swimming pool is close by the annex. From the annex you will reach the medieval tower descending approximately 110 steps (for a total of 225 from the entrance gate). From the medieval tower you will reach the Jacuzzi pool along a walkway which includes approximately 55 stairway steps. From the medieval tower you will reach the sea descending approximately 223 stairway steps (for a total of approximately 448 from the entrance gate, or approximately 333 from the annex).

Please note: when booking Villa Don Parafan you will have access to each of the nine bedrooms/eight bathrooms available at the villa, for a maximum occupancy of 10 guests . Direct Access to the Sea

From the property you will have a direct access to the sea through a concrete platform. You will reach it from the first patio going down a private walkway that is cut into the rocky cliff and includes approximately 220 stairway steps. The area is equipped with deck chairs and an external shower.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is 4.5 meters (14.8 feet) large by 8 meters (26 feet) long, from 1.10 meter (3.60 feet) to 1.90 meters (6.2 feet) deep. It can be heated if requested (additional cost applies -- please enquire with our staff). The swimming pool can be covered by a telescopic pool enclosure. The swimming pool area is equipped with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas, deck chairs, sun loungers, a swing, hammocks and external showers. By the pool you will also find a bathroom which is equipped with a washbasin and a toilet. From the swimming pool you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea. The pool is open all year round.

Garden with Jacuzzi pool

The garden is 10000 square meters (108000 square feet) large. It features a Jacuzzi pool with hydromassage (2 by 2 meters, 6.5 by 6.5 feet). The garden is partly shaded by trees. It is equipped with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas, deck chairs, sun loungers, a swing, hammocks and external showers. Here you will also find a brickwork barbecue and a wood-fired pizza oven. From the garden you will enjoy a wonderful view of the sea.

Fitness Room with bathroom

At Villa Don Parafan you will find a fitness room equipped with an exercise bike, a cross trainer, a treadmill, a home gym, a fitness bench, a rowing machine and a sauna. You will be able to enter the fitness room from the garden. This fitness room has a bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a shower.

The first kitchen is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker and an American-style coffee-maker (bring your filters!). There is a table to seat six guests. From the kitchen a French door will take you to a first patio and the garden with a view of the sea. The room has a window with a view of the sea.

The first living room is paved with terracotta tiles. The ceiling is vaulted. The furnishings are elegant and refined, and include some antique pieces. The furnishings include two sofas and two armchairs. There is an age-old fireplace decorated with age-old majolica tiles. The dining table can accommodate ten guests. In this room you will find a satellite television, a DVD player and a CD player. From the living room you will be able to enter the first patio and the garden through a French door. The room has a large panoramic window with a view of the sea. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.

The first terrace is 20 square meters (215 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a pergola with a bamboo roof. The terrace is equipped with masonry benches and two armchairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea.

Half-bath

The half-bath is equipped with a washbasin and a toilet. You will be able to enter it from the second living room.

The rental price includes: linens; heating; towels, changed mid-week; maid service five days a week 4 hours each day; electricity up to 300 kW per week.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Villa Don Parafan the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 1500, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
