Holiday Home Description

Casa Rebecca B is a characteristic and welcoming apartment located 200 meters (220 yards) from the Grand Canal and 10 minutes from St. Mark's Square. It sleeps four people. It is appoximately 55 square meters (590 square feet). It features air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.

You will be in a pedestrian precinct, in the center of Venice, where you will find restaurants, the shops and public transportation.

Casa Rebecca B is located on the first floor. You will reach it from the main entrance of the building going up a stairway which consists of approximately 12 steps.

You will not need a car to stay at Casa Rebecca B (and nonresident's cars are generally not allowed).

The Casa Rebecca apartments are on the first floor of a typical age-old building in Venice, situated in the historical center of Venice, in the Sestiere di Cannareggio, precisely in the old Jewish Ghetto (Campo Gheto Vecio).

The place is rich in history. The ghetto in Venice was the first in the history of Europe. It was created around the Sixteenth century when the Doge of Venice ordered all the Jewish people to live in one single neighborhood, which was to be shut and under surveillance during the night. Such decision was taken to compensate the freedom of religion and protection in trading affairs allowed to the Jewish community. That’s the reason why the area boasts seven splendid synagogues.

The ghetto was an extremely crowded place. A proof of such condition is the height of the buildings in the neighborhood and the fact that the ceilings inside the apartments were not high at all so as to allow the construction of several floors. Nowadays the area is tranquil and mainly Venetians live in the place.

Casa Rebecca is only a six-minute walk away from the Railway Station of Santa Lucia (Stazione Ferroviaria di Santa Lucia), which connects Venice to the mainland. The Canal Grande, the main water street in Venice, is only 200 meters (about 656 feet) away. You can reach Piazza San Marco and the Ponte di Rialto either by taking a boat or a twenty-minute stroll. A few steps away from the house is also the stop of the boats heading to the islands of Burano, Murano, and Torcello.

Living Room

The ceiling of the living room has characteristic exposed wood beams. The furnishings are elegant and bright. The furnishings include a divan that unfolds into a double bed. In the living room you will also find a cooking area. The kitchenette is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a microwave oven and an Italian-style coffee-maker. The dining table can accommodate six guests. In this room you will find a flat-screen satellite television and a DVD player. The room has a window. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.

Bedroom

You will be able to enter the bedroom from the living room. The ceiling has characteristic exposed wood beams. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The room has a window.

Bathroom

The bathroom is spacious and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a fully enclosed shower and a hairdryer. Here you will also find a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the corridor.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.
