The secular park is shared with the guests of a small depandance located in a secluded part of the estate.

The secular park

Your stay at Villa dei Conti will be particularly pleasant thanks to the peacefulness of the stunning uncontaminated nature offered by this lovely park. A noble place, preserved almost intact throughout the ages, where you will be able to relax. This is a magic tourist spot where you will be able to dedicate yourself to swim, rather than fishing into the private lake, or walking into the wood nearby the villa, or simply bike along the villa's canal embankment and reach the outstanding Park of Colli Euganei. You will never forget the intense scent of flowers during spring, or mushrooms in autumn, along with the marvellous landscape offered by the wood.

The park is surrounded by ancient walls which help protect the calmness of the villa. Taxus, box and ligustrum hedges and the path decorated by 18th-century statues lead through the vast variety of old, monumental plants in the vast woods. In this romantic place you will enjoy unique views like the headstone monument in the background of the villa, the lake with its swans, the watchtower and the neogothic chalet. Under one of the many small hills overlooking the lake there is an ice-house used in the 19th century.

A taste of history...

The architectural complex was built by the noble family of the Counts of St Bonifacio, from Verona, in the XVI century.

Originally there were two separate buildings. The first one composed by the the Prior's house, a small church dedicated to St Giacomo, with an imposing ogival portal and a characteristic cusp bell-tower in perfect Romanesque style. The second one was composed by a large Party Hall as embellishment and enjoyment of the pretty park in which was located.

The current XVIII-century setting has been made by the Count Anton Maria of St Bonifacio in occasion of the wedding of his son Ercole with the marquise Teresa degli Obizzi, officiated on February the 14^th 1734. The Count Giovanni Francesco of St Bonifacio transformed the complex into this outstanding villa, as summer residence of his family only in 1835, making a single linear building of the previous two, as well as the current living rooms on the ground floor and the bedrooms on the first floor.
