Villa Monella is an elegant villa with a private swimming-pool, terraces, and a garden on the top of hills near the town of Lucca. The house sleeps nine people and it’s 190 square meters (about 2,045 square feet) large. It features Wi-Fi Internet connection, winter heating, and parking space. The villa is 4 km (about 2.5 miles) away from the historical center of Lucca.

There are two double bedrooms, two single bedrooms, a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, two bathrooms, a living-room, a dining-room, and a kitchen. The owners reside on the premises, in a separate apartment. They take care of the grounds and of the pool, and will be discreetly available to give you tips and advice, if requested.

Villa Monella is in a hilly residential area not far away from the historical center of Lucca.

You reach it after walking down a private boulevard along which a few elegant villas are distributed and hidden amidst the green of their own gardens.

Villa Monella is a white modern four-storey house with a terrace on each floor. It’s located on a mildly sloping land. It’s surrounded by a fenced-in garden reached once through a beautiful wrought-iron gate. In front and around the villa you will see a wide stretch of green and sun-drenched lawn framed and embellished by flowers and bush hedges.

As a pleasant contrast to the well-mown lawn and at the back of the villa you will see a lush small wood consisting of small oak trees over a mildly sloping terrain. The wood (7500 square meters or about 80,729 square feet) is part of the house and its land, and you will be able to stroll around it to unveil all the local flora. In October I've been able to find there a wide area of perfumed cyclamens!

At Villa Monella you will find fresh and clean air along with a lot of peacefulness. As soon as you arrive you will realize to have chosen the ideal place to visit all the historical and artistic beauties of Tuscany and to enjoy your vacation amidst nature and full relaxation!

300 meters (about 984 feet) away from the villa you will have a great restaurant, and at 800 meters (about 2,625 feet) you will find the small town of S.Alessio, with food shops.

At Villa Monella you will have Wi-Fi internet connection available to your computer and cell phone. You will be charged for what you used only regarding your cell phone.

The swimming-pool of Villa Monella will seem like a gracious small lake surrounded by a large lawn. The lawn is delimited by a series of shady trees of the little wood, the valley facing the sun, and the view of the town of Lucca far in the distance.

The swimming-pool is 11 x 5 meters (about 36 x 16 feet) large. It’s open from the first of May to the 30th of October.

In the garden, in the area closest to the house, you will have a table with chairs shaded by a large umbrella and also a portable barbecue; the perfect place to have meals outdoors.

Villa Monella is a four-storey house. On the ground floor you will be welcomed in the entrance room of the house, which is actually a gracious living-room furnished with a couch and armchairs. In front of this entrance there is a covered patio and the garden, with a table and chairs.

A large staircase will lead you to the first floor. Here you will find the living area of the villa, which is wide, well cared for, and illuminated by large patio doors.

You will be delighted with the living-room as you will find an elegant atmosphere filled with “personality”: carefully sought-for antique furniture, rugs on the floor, beautiful lights and lamps, and several paintings of artists on the wall…

The living-room is divided in two communicating areas. In one you will have the couch and armchairs arranged around a working fireplace, a satellite-dish TV, and a gracious antique desk. In the other area you will have a large dining table and a patio door leading to a small terrace overlooking the garden and the valley.

The kitchen has a door communicating with the dining room. The kitchen features a four-burner stove, an oven, a fridge with freezer, a dishwasher, and small electrical appliances. From the kitchen you reach a small covered terrace where there’s a washing machine.

The sleeping area is distributed on two floors. On the third floor you will have a large double bedroom, two single bedrooms, and a big bathroom. The bedrooms have windows overlooking the valley. The bathroom is spacious, and there are two sinks and a bathtub. Above the bathtub there is also a shower head.

On the upper floor you will have a spacious bedroom furnished with a double bed and a single bed, a small double bedroom, and a large bathroom with shower. The rooms on this floor have inclined ceilings with the minimum height of 2.20 meters (about 7.2 feet). The smaller bedroom features a portable air-conditioner.

At only 15 km (about 9 miles) away from Villa Monella you will have the coast of Tuscany and the famous beach town of Viareggio. With short daily trips you can visit the beaches or stroll along the elegant shopping streets of the place. If you wish, you can also use the convenient services of beach establishments.

While staying at Villa Monella you will be 4 km (about 2.5 miles) away from the historical center of Lucca. The historical center can be reached even by bus: 500 meters (about 1,640 feet) away you will have the bus stop with lines running to Lucca every 30 minutes.

Lucca is rich in historical and artistic beauties, beginning with the wonderful surrounding walls perfectly preserved throughout times and also the Cathedral of San Martino, which houses the most, in my opinion, beautiful sepulchral monuments in the world, the sarcophagus of Ilaria del Carretto, sculpted in the fifteenth century by Jacopo della Quercia.

Take your time to visit Lucca well: once through the surrounding walls, you will feel as if inside a time machine which has magically taken you to intact little medieval streets or superb Renaissance squares… and don’t forget to stop at the characteristic restaurants where you can taste the local cuisine!

Naturally it will be also easy for you to visit the nearby Garfagnana, with its historical and natural beauties, and the beautiful beaches of Viareggio, only 15 km (about 9 miles) away.

Florence is about 50 km (about 31 miles) away and quickly reached through highway. With convenient and easy trips you can visit Siena and other magnificent cities of art in Tuscany.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Villa Monella the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 200, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
