It features a private 60-square-meter (about 646 square feet) terrace with an enthralling view of the sea. There is a shared swimming-pool and garden, both with a splendid view of the sea and Positano. The apartment is equipped with air-conditioning and heating. It is 1 km (about 0.6 mile) away from the center of Positano. There is one double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, and a large living-room with a kitchenette. The place Suite Ernestina is on the last floor of a three-storey house built on a rocky hillside by the sea. It is a beautiful house in stone immersed in the green of a luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation and suspended between the blue of the sea and the sky. When on the balconies or terraces of the house, you will feast your eyes on a wide horizon merging the sea and the sky. You will be charmed by the view of the Positano bay and its fascinating beauty. The coast consists of a gracious series of promontories jutting out into the blue sea and alternated with inlets and charming beaches in half-moon shapes. Areas of sheer steep rocks or lush vegetation cover the promontories. You will see a myriad of little white houses spread over the green of the landscape or clung really close one to another to the rocky walls of the mountains. If you look ahead you can even see the two small islands Li Galli and the contour of the coast, which becomes pale blue far in the horizon, merging with the outline of Capri island. You will be thrilled for being amidst so much beauty, and you will be filled with joy and an urge to live it to the fullest!! The place has such a magical atmosphere that it bewitches even me, a regular inhabitant of the area. Such enchanting feeling will linger within you even after the end of your vacation! Sunset and evenings offer other fascinating moments. From the terrace of Suite Ernestina, you will be able to enjoy the moon reflecting in the waters of the sea and the coast with its shimmering lights. During full moon, the view is just unique, and you can relish it from your lit terrace while dining under the stars… The private terrace So you can enjoy all the aforementioned beauty and feeling, Suite Ernestina has a large terrace at the entrance of the apartment exclusively at your disposal. The terrace lies before the whole living-room area. Embellished with an elegant white balustrade and red climbing Boungainvillea, the terrace, all yours, will be the perfect frame for you to enjoy the wide blue of the sea and the dream scenery of Positano and the coast. The terrace is really well furnished: you will have a large table with chairs, deck chairs, sunloungers, an outdoor shower, little tables, and a romantic double swing. You will also have a barbecue in one angle of the terrace. The shared garden and swimming-pool As guests at Suite Ernestina you will have a garden with a quite fascinating view of the coast and the sea available to you. The garden consists of small areas of terraced land arranged on several levels along the rocky coast which are linked by stone stairways and little trails. Olive and carob trees create a shaded area and an elegant frame to an enchanting view of the sea and the coast. The shape of the swimming-pool respects one of the terraced areas of the land, and it seems to be as if attached to the rock. A gracious fountain in statue-shape adorns the swimming-pool and overlooks a splendid scenery consisting of the sea and Positano. You will enjoy having so much beauty before your eyes while you allow yourself to be cradled gently by the waters of the swimming-pool… The swimming-pool is 11m x 6m (about 36 x 20 feet) large, and it is open all year round. The garden and the swimming-pool are shared with guests of other two apartments, Villa Ernestina A and Villa Ernestina B. The house You enter Villa Ernestina by climbing 43 steps found on the street where you park your car. In order to reach Suite Ernestina, on the third and last floor of the villa, you will have to go along a short path which runs through the garden and which consists of about 30 steps. Once through a gracious stone arch, you will step onto a covered patio right before the main entrance of the house. From this patio you can reach either the living-room or the terrace which overlooks the sea and lies in front of the whole apartment area. The living-room is airy and bright: there is a large arched window near the kitchenette and a patio door leading to the terrace. Even from inside the room, you can see only sea and sky through the glass in the room! In the living-room you will have a table with chairs, a couch, an angle with a satellite-dish TV, and a kitchenette. The kitchenette is equipped with a six-burner stove, an oven, and a fridge with freezer. On the covered patio, you will have a laundry area with a washing machine. The double bedroom is gracious. It communicates with the living-room through an arched opening covered by a blue curtain. There is also a small window placed up high which looks onto the outside. The bathroom is inside the room; it is spacious and elegant. There are two marble sinks and a spacious shower. You will like the furnishings at Suite Ernestina: complete and elegant. And you will see antique objects and pieces of local handicraft which have been chosen with care and love. You don’t need a car during your stay at Suite Ernestina, but in case you have one, you can find free parking along the road near the house. The beach From Suite Ernestina, you can reach a beach found in a picturesque inlet of a half-moon shape. You can reach the beach by either taking a 270-step path or by sea. During summer, you can rent umbrellas, deckchairs, and even maritime transportation (small boats) to the center of Positano. Nearby there are other beaches reachable with the local bus. Nearby tourist attractions Once at Suite Ernestina, you will be about 1 km (0.6 mile) from Positano and close to the bus stop of the local minibus (shuttle) to the center of Positano, and of the SITA bus which offers the Sorrento-Positano-Amalfi line. The nearest shops are about 1 km (0.6 mile) away from the house. You will be in a central position, convenient to visit both the Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. You will be able to enjoy the intense tourist life of Positano and its meeting-places, shopping streets, and restaurants. Daily and nightly ferries, hydrofoils, and mini cruises to the coast, Capri and Ischia islands, Amalfi, Sorrento, Salerno, Cilento National Park and Naples leave from Positano. The SITA bus connects all the towns of the coast and takes you to Pompeii, Herculanum, Paestum, and the Reggia (Royal Palace) of Caserta. From Suite Ernestina, mountain trekking enthusiasts can easily reach the famous trail which crosses the top of the mountains of the Amalfi Coast. The trail unravels through cliffs and breathtaking scenery. Due to its extraordinary beauty, the trail is called Sentiero degli Dei (Trail of the Gods). One access point to the ‘Sentiero degli Dei ’ is a one-thousand-step flight of stairs dug in the rock. Such stairway goes past Villa Ernestina. If you are in good shape, try to climb it. I have taken all the one thousand steps (going down, though) and I assure you the experience is definitely worthy. It’s an unforgettable experience! The nearest airport is the one in Naples.
