It sleeps 30 people. It is 7.5 km (about 4.7 miles) away from Sorrento. It’s equipped with air-conditioning, heating, parking space, and internet connection. There are 11 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, 4 separate WCs, a large living-room with couches, a breakfast room, and a dining-room. The place Villa Max is built on the highest and narrowest area of the narrow Sorrento Peninsula, which separates de Gulf of Naples from the Gulf of Salerno. The villa is three-storey high and preserves its original and elegant 1800 architectonic structure. Upon arrival you will soon notice the house, white from up above, rising even higher than the crowns of the huge umbrella-like shaped pines which stand against the blue of the sky and the sea. You will see the terrace which crowns the attic floor, and you will suddenly wish to be up there as soon as possible to discover all the angles of the fantastic scenery around you. You will realize that from the terraces of the villa you will enjoy an enthralling view of both Gulfs. You will have specially the magical panorama of the entire Gulf of Naples below your eyes over one side: a gulf dominated by the “unsettling” cone-shaped outline of the Vesuvius. And you will notice the sea of the Gulf of Salerno and the coast where Positano is located on the other side. You will also see, between the two Gulfs, a part of the island of Capri, comely, inviting and nearby. The villa is in the middle of a 22,000-square-meter (about 236,806 square feet) land. Around the villa there is a magnificent garden with high centenary pine trees, shady pergolas and sun-drenched lawns: therein you will find the swimming-pool, surrounded by a large sun-drenched lawn area. Not far from the villa there is also a tennis court and a grassy area where helicopters can land. The rest of the terrain is a sloping land which is also rich in woods and fruit trees. Its history Yesterday…. The Coast of Sorrento, already a vacation destination since the Ancient Romans, was chosen and loved as a holiday place by many educated, rich, and famous travellers of northern Europe in the nineteenth century. Princes, literates and wealthy families chose to build here their vacation homes. In the most beautiful areas of the coast, large and sumptuous villas surrounded by splendid gardens would rise. Villa Max is actually one example of homes built during this period. It was built in 1892 by a rich German traveler who fell in love with the region. Such villas were often sets of intense and romantic love stories. How can one possibly live amidst such exuberantly natural beauty of the Sorrento Peninsula and not fall in love? And that is why it is said that the villa has been the set of an intense love story between its owner, Max, and a lovely lady whose name was Enrichetta….. …today… The villa has had different proprietors throughout its history. Nowadays you will find all modern services which render it a splendid and cozy vacation home, perfect for a group of friends who want to spend their holiday together. The efficient division and size of the interior and outdoor spaces of the villa allow each member of the group to not only have fun with the presence of their friends with all the possible convenience but also enjoy some independence and privacy whenever desired. Villa Max has preserved its romantic fascination throughout times: you will find it perfect also to host weddings and anniversary parties with your closest and dearest friends!
