Villa Gioconda is a splendid 400-square-meter (about 4,306 square feet) villa which sleeps ten people. It features private swimming pool, wide terraces and a garden, all with a beautiful view of the sea and the coast.

You will be on the southern coast of the Gulf of Salerno, in the Parco Nazionale del Cilento (National Park of Cilento), 5 km (about 3 miles) from the sea and the beach, and about 10 km (approximately 6 miles) from the archaeological ruins of Paestum.

Villa Gioconda has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large living-room, a spacious kitchen with a fireplace, and a large tavernetta (great gathering room) with a fireplace, a kitchenette, and an oven for pizza.

The villa features a wide patio and terraces overlooking the sea. It is surrounded by 2000 square meters of fenced-in land cultivated with olive groves and fruit trees.

Villa Gioconda is situated in an isolated and prominent area, almost on the top of a green mountain whose slopes look out on the plains of Paestum on one side and softly descends towards the blue of the sea on the other, going through hillocks and little mountains covered in verdant cultivations.

From its terraces ad garden you will be able to enjoy a spectacular and endless view of the whole arch-shaped Gulf of Salerno: looking towards the horizon, right before your eyes, you will see the island of Capri and the mountainous outline of the whole Amalfi Coast, which ends with the city of Salerno. By looking to the right, you will be able to feast your eyes on the entire large long and arch-shaped beach of the plains of Paestum. And by stretching your eyes and looking below you, you will see the medieval town of Agropoli, with its castle overlooking the sea. Last but not least, close to where you are, you will see, bellow the villa, the verdant hills which descend towards the sea and the bay of Trentova.

Such wide panorama becomes even more fascinating once the night falls, bringing the sunset over the sea and a myriad of lights brightening the whole gulf…

Villa Gioconda is located almost at the end of a private road of about 500 meters (about 1,640 feet) which leads to four or fives houses distributed along its way. All around you will see olive groves and vineyards which lushly grow under the clear sky and the sweet Mediterranean weather.

In order to reach the villa, once leaving from Agropoli and the sea, you have to go for about 5 km (about 3 miles) along a convenient countryside road which unravels through vineyards and olive groves and offers you scenery of green hillocks and little mountains overlooking the sea at every turn.

You will run past magnificent olive groves with trees which have offered their fruits for hundreds of years...: their black large and dumpy trunks and thick intense-green foliage contrast against the light green of the land and the blue of the sky and the sea producing a fascinating effect... moreover, it is not difficult to come across a horse, donkey or cow grazing along the road...

You will find that Villa Gioconda is perfect to enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside even though it is close to the sea, beaches, and famous tourist places.

5 km (about 3 miles) away from the villa, you will find the beach of Trentova, surrounded by an enthralling bay miraculously uncontaminated, as it is a preserved natural area.

The large and sandy beach is surrounded by rocky coast shaped as a green amphitheater. The sun shines on it all day long, the water is clean and transparent, and the bottom gradually increases in depth enabling not only you but also your kids to go for a swim. The rocky shore of the bay is perfect for those who enjoy exploring small underwater cavities with snorkels. The sea ahead is a protected marine area.

During summer you will find beach establishments with bars and other services available.

Horse riding facilities are available nearby, and you will be able to take riding lessons and to enjoy guided tours through protected areas of great naturally beauty.

The closest shops and supermarkets to Villa Gioconda are located in Agropoli, about 5 km (about 3 miles) away. 100 meters (about 328 feet) from the villa is a pizza-restaurant (usually open every night in July and August, on Saturday and Sunday in the other months), other restaurants, pizza places, and night rendezvous; all 2 km (about 1.2 miles) away.

A car is necessary during your stay at Villa Gioconda. The villa is equipped with private parking space.

At Villa Gioconda you will find a marvellous turquoise-blue swimming pool, lain down on a white, sunshiny terrace with a gorgeous view on the sea and the coast The swimming pool is large, elegant and wiggly, endowed with a comfortable access. Size: 12 x 5 metres (40 x 16 feet) depth: from 90 to 240 centimetres (from 3 to 8 feet), and it also includes a whirlpool bath area. It is open all year round, although it is not heated. You and your kids will be able to comfortably access into the pool through a large semicircular ladder.

The pool is fully equipped and you will find sun loungers, deck chairs, beach umbrellas and table with chairs, plus an external shower. In the night the area is enlightened by posh street-lamps and the pool by sunken lights. You will enjoy it during the night and will find lovely drinking a glass of wine while admiring the going down of the sun to the sea...

Villa Gioconda is surrounded by 2000 square meters (about 21,527 square feet) of fenced-in land. The sloping land is subdivided into terraces where citrus, fruit, and large olive trees grow. Around the house you will find a large paved area and two wide terraces surrounded by flower beds.

In front of the living-room and the kitchen lies a large covered patio furnished with wicker tables, chairs, and armchairs which is embellished by vases filled with flowers. From every angle of the garden, patio and terraces you will be able to enjoy a great view of the sea and the valley below. The terraces are furnished with umbrellas and sun loungers.

Villa Gioconda has been built respecting the slope of the land, and its rooms are distributed on three floors.

The middle floor can be reached from the garden. You will find a living-room, a spacious kitchen, a double bedroom, and a bathroom without a shower.

The living-room is a spacious and elegant room. On one side you will find couches and armchairs facing a large glass window through which you will be able to enjoy a beautiful view of the sea, while the other side features a table with chairs. Two large patio doors will lead you straight to the part of the patio which is furnished with wicker couches and armchairs. This area will certainly be one of your favorite angles to relax outdoors and enjoy the scenery.

From the living-room you can reach the spacious kitchen, which features the cooking angle on one side, a long table in the middle, and a wall with a large fireplace on the other side. The cooking area is equipped with a five-burner stove, an oven, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, a large fridge with a freezer, and several other small pieces of furniture and appliances.

The kitchen has a patio door which communicates with the covered patio furnished with a table and chairs to have meals outdoors. It will be easy and pleasant to have dinner under the sky and breakfast outdoors, facing an enthralling view of the sea!

At Villa Gioconda you will have a second and even more spacious living area, which consists of a beautiful tavernetta (or family room) placed on the lower floor, below the living-room. You will be able to reach it both through a patio door leading to the garden or through an indoor staircase placed in the living-room.

The family room is a unique room of 150 square meters (about 1,615 square feet) with terracotta floors and masonry arches furnished with wooden furniture in rustic style. In the family room you will find an area with a fireplace surrounded by masonry benches with cushions, a large wooden table in the middle surrounded by benches and stools, and a kitchenette where there is a wood-fired oven to prepare bread and pizza. In the family room you will find also an area with two single beds. On the same floor as the family room there is a spacious bathroom with shower.

From the living-room, a large staircase will lead you to the upper floor of Villa Gioconda, where you will find three bedrooms: two double rooms and a twin room. One of the double bedrooms is really spacious: inside there is a walk-in closet and a large bathroom. In the bathroom you will find a round Jacuzzi which comfortably seats two people and the WC area, which is apart. The bathroom is elegantly embellished by black and white marble. This bedroom features a window which overlooks the garden and a patio door which leads to a private and gracious terrace with a view of the sea.

The second double bedroom has a bathroom with shower inside and also a private terrace overlooking the sea.

The third bedroom is furnished with twin beds and has a bathroom with shower inside. There is a window overlooking the garden.

The villa is equipped with a washing machine. Laundry service is available upon request. Also upon request is the service of a chef, who can prepare pizzas in the wood-fired oven, and extra-cleaning service.

Villa Gioconda is furnished with furniture in modern style. It is minutely well-cared for, elegant and comfortable.

At Villa Gioconda you will be close to some of the most beautiful beaches of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento (National Park of Cilento). Besides the enchanting beach of Trentova in Agropoli, you will find several other beautiful beaches along the Coast of the National Park of Cilento. You can enjoy all of them free of charge or even enjoy the services of one of the many beach establishments which offer bars and restaurants during summer. You can even rent boats and practice some water sports.

In Cilento, the weather is mild all year round, the beaches are sun-drenched from sunrise to sunset, and enjoying them is pleasant from the beginning of spring time until autumn, not mentioning sometimes even in winter. (I personally find it pleasant to go for a swim in the area in September and the beginning of October: sea temperature is mild just like the weather around; the water is limpid and transparent, as the air surrounding you; and the colors of the scenery are vivid everywhere… plus the fact that you will find only few fortunate people like you to share the beach and all the beauty of the place with …)

During your stay at Villa Gioconda you will enjoy the sun, the beach, the sea, the green of the pine trees, and the tranquillity of a small and graceful tourist spot. You will be able to see how Italians really live and enjoy the good local cuisine, based on fish and on genuine products of the Cilento National Park, such as the mozzarella cheese, olive oil and wine.

The closest train station is Agropoli. In the area you will find the tourist ports of San Marco di Castellabate and of Agropoli. In addition, it is possible, during summer, to board ferries to the Amalfi Coast, to Capri and to other places along the Cilento Coast, as well as to take boat, fishing or diving trips.

In summer time, in the villages along the coast it is possible to attend a large number of "sagre" (local outdoor festivals with homemade dishes and live music). Pubs, restaurants and discos stay open until very late at night.

If you are a nature enthusiast, it is possible to book guided hikes along naturalist, historical-cultural or gastronomic trails with the Cilento National Park guides.

The rental price includes: electricity up to 250 kW per week; heating; maid service from Monday to Saturday 3 hours each day; towels; linens.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Villa Gioconda the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 200, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
