Holiday Home Description

Villa Virginia is a splendid two-story villa which faces the sun and the sea. It sleeps 14 people. From Villa Virginia you will enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and of Santa Maria di Castellabate and of the gulf of Salerno far in the horizon. Villa Virginia is 300 square meters (3230 square feet). It features a private swimming pool, wide private terraces with a view of the sea, a private garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.

You will be roughly 1 km (0.6 miles) from the center of Santa Maria di Castellabate, roughly 800 meters (half a mile) from restaurants and the shops. You will find the closest beach at 2 km (roughly 1.25 miles). You will reach Villa Virginia from the parking area along a short walkway that cuts through the garden and has no stairway steps.

To stay at Villa Virginia you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises, inside the entrance gate.

Villa Virginia is situated in an elevated position on a pine-tree covered hill overlooking the bay of Santa Maria di Castellabate. The two-story building is surrounded by private fenced grounds of 1000 square meters (10000 square feet).

Both stories have large terraces, kissed by the sun from the moment it rises in the morning to when it sets on the sea. Upon your arrival you will immediately have in front of you the blue of the sea and of the sky, the bright green of the pine trees and a wide panorama of sea and hills on which your eyes will gently roam: you will be happy to live amidst so much beauty for the length of your vacation, and you will cherish this feeling for a long time when you are back home.

The garden and the terraces of the villa have a limitless view of the Gulf of Salerno, from the cape of Punta Licosa nearby to the horizon on the far side, with the unmistakable profile of the island of Capri and of the Amalfi Coast.

On the sides and below the villa you will be able to see the slopes of the short hill that gently descend as a natural amphitheatre towards the sea. The hill is verdant with ordered vineyards and olive groves that interrupt woods of pine trees. Ancient stone houses and villas are scattered around the vegetation. At the highest point of the hill, sheer above the sea, stands the medieval castle of Castellabate.

You will reach Villa Virginia driving along a uphill alley for approximately 800 meters (half a mile) from the center of the village. The alley climbs up the slopes of a hill covered by Aleppo pine, a kind of pine tree that grows close to the sea, and a protected species of the Cilento National Park. The alley is only used by the residents of a few vacation villas partly hidden among the pine trees, and it ends a few meters past Villa Virginia.

At Villa Virginia you will find at your disposal a swimming pool set in the middle of a white terrace that stretches in front of the living room towards the blue of the sea and of the sky. The terrace is decorated with a white balustrade and pots blooming with red geraniums. The pool gets sunlight from the morning to when the sun sets on the sea. In the summer time you will enjoy swimming in the evening and by night. The swimming pool and the surrounding area can be lit in a discreet and evocative way with lights set into the flooring, which will allow you to admire the starry sky and the reflection of the moon in the sea. And when you are done swimming you can jump under a good hot outdoor shower, before wrapping yourself in a robe!

At Villa Virginia you will have maid service five hours a day from Monday to Saturday, end-of-week change of linens and towels and mid-week change of towels. A cook is available upon request.

The villa is equipped with washing machine and clothes dryer for your own independent use. Laundry service is available upon request.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is 6 meters (20 feet) large by 10 meters (33 feet) long, from 1.20 meter (4 feet) to 2 meters (6.6 feet) deep. The swimming pool has a sinuous shape. The pool area is paved with white special non-slip tiles that stay always cool. It is equipped with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas, deck chairs, sun loungers and external showers. By the pool you will also find a bathroom which is equipped with a washbasin and a toilet. From the swimming pool you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea. The pool is open all year round, although it is not heated.

Garden

The garden is 1000 square meters (10800 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by an elegant gazebo. It is equipped with a table and chairs. Here you will be able to have fun with a ping pong table. Here you will also find a brickwork barbecue and a wood-fired pizza oven. From the garden you will enjoy a fascinating view of the sea.

The patio is partly shaded by a gazebo. It is equipped with tables and chairs. From the patio you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea and of Santa Maria di Castellabate.

Living Room

The living room is paved with lucid blue majolica tiles. The furnishings are classic and welcoming. They include sofas and a desk. There is a big and elegant fireplace made of stone and decorated with majolica tiles. The dining table can accommodate 14 guests. In this room you will find a satellite television, a DVD player, a CD player with FM radio, a personal computer with broadband Internet connection and an Ethernet plug for broadband Internet connection (don't forget your cable!). From the living room you will be able to enter the garden and the swimming pool with a view of the sea through four double-glazed French doors. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.

Kitchen

The kitchen is paved with lucid sky-blue majolica tiles. It is spacious and comfortable, equipped with a six-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a large refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave oven, an Italian-style coffee-maker, an American-style coffee-maker (bring your filters!), a toaster and other small appliances. There is a table to seat eight guests. From the kitchen two French doors will take you to the patio and the swimming pool with a view of the sea. The kitchen is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.

You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the living room through an access area. It has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The room has a window with a view of the patio. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, tiled with lucid hand-made majolica tiles and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, large fully-enclosed shower and a hairdryer.

You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the corridor. It has two twin beds (80 cm/32 inches), that can be pushed together into a matrimonial bed if requested. From the bedroom you will be able to enter the garden with a view of the sea through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, tiled with lucid hand-made majolica tiles and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, large fully-enclosed shower and a hairdryer.

You will be able to reach the laundry room from the living room through a corridor. Here you will find a washing machine, a clothes dryer, an iron and an ironing board at your disposal.

The rental price includes: final cleaning; electricity; linens; maid service from Monday to Saturday 3 hours each day; Wi-Fi Internet connection; towels, changed mid-week; beach/pool towels.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Villa Virginia the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 500, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
