It sleeps 14 guests and has a private swimming pool, large terraces and a garden, all with an amazing view of the sea and of the coast. It is equipped with air conditioning, telephone, a personal computer and wi-fi Internet connection, satellite television, winter heating, parking, and maid service five hours each day, from Monday to Saturday. Villa Virginia has seven bedrooms, each one with its own private bathroom, a large living room with a fireplace, a kitchen and terraces. The swimming pool has a whirlpool corner, a changing room with a toilet, external showers with hot and cold water. The place Villa Virginia is situated approximately 1 km (0.8 miles) from the village of Santa Maria di Castellabate, and 2 km (1.2 miles) from the sea, in an elevated position on a pine-tree covered hill overlooking the bay of Santa Maria di Castellabate. The two-story building is surrounded by private fenced grounds of 1000 square meters (10000 square feet). Both stories have large terraces, kissed by the sun from the moment it rises in the morning to when it sets on the sea. Upon your arrival you will immediately have in front of you the blue of the sea and of the sky, the bright green of the pine trees and a wide panorama of sea and hills on which your eyes will gently roam: you will be happy to live amidst so much beauty for the length of your vacation, and you will cherish this feeling for a long time when you are back home. The garden and the terraces of the villa have a limitless view of the Gulf of Salerno, from the cape of Punta Licosa nearby to the horizon on the far side, with the unmistakable profile of the island of Capri and of the Amalfi Coast. On the sides and below the villa you will be able to see the slopes of the short hill that gently descend as a natural amphitheatre towards the sea. The hill is verdant with ordered vineyards and olive groves that interrupt woods of pine trees. Ancient stone houses and villas are scattered around the vegetation. At the highest point of the hill, sheer above the sea, stands the medieval castle of Castellabate. You will reach Villa Virginia driving along a uphill alley for approximately 800 meters (half a mile) from the center of the village. The alley climbs up the slopes of a hill covered by Aleppo pine, a kind of pine tree that grows close to the sea, and a protected species of the Cilento National Park. The alley is only used by the residents of a few vacation villas partly hidden among the pine trees, and it ends a few meters past Villa Virginia. You will find the closest shops, a restaurant and a supermarket at 800 meters (half a mile) downhill from the villa. The swimming pool At Villa Virginia you will find at your disposal a 10 x 6 meters (32 x 20 feet) swimming pool, with a whirlpool corner. The pool is set in the middle of a white terrace that stretches in front of the living room towards the blue of the sea and of the sky. The terrace is decorated with a white balustrade and pots blooming with red geraniums. The sun deck around the swimming pool is equipped with umbrellas and 14 sun beds. The deck has special non-slip tiles that stay always cool: your kids and you will be able to walk barefoot, even when wet and under the hot summer sun. Close to the swimming pool you will find a small changing room with toilet and washbasin, as well as two external showers with hot and cold water. The pool gets sunlight from the morning to when the sun sets on the sea. In the summer time you will enjoy swimming in the evening and by night. The swimming pool and the surrounding area can be lit in a discreet and evocative way with lights set into the flooring, which will allow you to admire the starry sky and the reflection of the moon in the sea. And when you are done swimming you can jump under a good hot outdoor shower, before wrapping yourself in a robe!
The pool is open all year round (although it is outdoor and not heated). The terraces and the garden Villa Virginia is surrounded by 1000 square meters (10000 square feet) of private fenced grounds, partly paved and partly garden. Past the main gate, you will find a parking area. Once your car is parked, you will be able to enter the garden and the house walking a few meters along a comfortable ramp, with no steps. The garden and the area around the villa are like a huge terrace overlooking the coast below and the sea. Arranged on three sides of the villa you will find different equipped areas: the nice swimming pool with its large sundeck is situated in the tiled area in front of the main facade and of the living room. On one side, next to the kitchen, you will find a long rectangular gazebo, equipped with table, chairs and a graceful fountain. On the opposite side of the building there is an area equipped with a wood-burning pizza oven, brickwork barbecue, table and chairs to dine outdoor. On the lawn you will find a children's slide and, at last, a few steps away an octagonal gazebo furnished with a small table and benches, a perfect spot to relax, maybe with a good book. At the top level of Villa Virginia you will find terraces with a view of the sea in front of each room. The largest terrace, in front of two of the four bedrooms, can also be entered independently from the corridor. You will soon find that it is a special place to lean out in the morning, to meet the first rays of the sun that rising behind the hill fills with light the valley and the sea, or to admire the red sunsets on the sea in the evening. The house The living area The rooms of Villa Virginia are arranged on two levels. The ground floor displays a large living-room, a kitchen, and three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. You will be able to reach the terrace and the swimming pool from the living room and the kitchen through six glass doors. The living room is a large and elegant room with a luminous floor made of local majolica tiles. Here you will find a large fireplace surrounded by comfortable sofas, a dining area with table and chairs, a corner equipped with satellite television, DVD player, CD MP3 player, a desk with telephone, personal computer and wireless Internet DSL connection. If you have a wi-fi laptop you will be able to connect to the Internet at no additional charge. From the living room you will be able to enter the kitchen, which has a large table in the middle. The kitchen is equipped with a six-burner cooker, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, a large refrigerator with freezer, and small appliances.
