Villa Brenda is an age-old 70-square-meter (about 753.5 square feet) house in
Amalfi which sleeps six people. It has a 100-square-meter (about 1076 square
feet) garden and a balcony with a wide view of the sea and the coast. The house
is 200 meters (about 656 feet) away from the sea and the beach. It is 1.5 km (about
1 miles) away from Amalfi and 12 km ( about 8 miles ) away from Positano. The
house is equipped with air-conditioning.
There are three double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom with shower inside
the room. There is also a living-room with a kitchenette, a patio, and a garden.
The place
Villa Brenda is an apartment on the first floor of a beautiful
nineteenth-century building built attached to a rock on a prominent coast by the
sea. The main façade of the building faces the sea only, while its sides and
back look onto typical terraces cultivated with lemon and other citrus trees.
Just a few feet away are the staircases which lead to two of the most beautiful
beaches of the Amalfi Coast; both nestled by rocks.
50 meters (about 164.5 feet) away from the house is the bus stop of the Positano
– Amalfi line shuttle. You can book a parking space in a pay-garage and they
will take your car directly to you at the villa.
The garden
In front of the house lies the garden, which is just like a terrace looking out
towards the sea and the sun. The garden is exclusively at your disposal. You
will find a beautiful lawn and several lemon and mandarin orange trees under
which you can even arrange deck chairs and little tables. You will be able to
enjoy the sun from sunrise to sunset while feasting your eyes on the
extraordinary scenery consisting of the sea and the coast.
The house
In order to arrive at the apartment, you will have to climb a flight of outdoor
stairs which will lead you to the garden. The garden is actually on the same
level of the house, and you will find umbrellas, tables, and chairs there.
From the garden you will be able to enter the living-room, where there is a
table with chairs and also a small kitchenette furnished with a two-burner stove,
an oven, and a fridge with freezer.
The bedrooms, all with double beds, have a bathroom inside each. They are placed
around the living-room. Two have a patio door which gives access to the garden.
The third bedroom is bright because of the light coming from the living-room.
Every bedroom has a satellite-dish TV.
The beaches
A few feet from Villa Brenda are the stairs leading to two enthralling
half-moon-shaped beaches. The rocks enclose both as in an amphitheater,
shielding them from the wind, what renders a pleasant weather suitable for
sunbathing all year round. The beaches consist of fine gravels and the water is
clean and transparent.
Both beaches are separated by a short area of rocks; however, you can swim from
one to the other while wearing a mask and snorkels which will enable you to
unveil small areas rich in shellfish and colorful little fish.
Reaching such beaches after climbing down zigzag stairs dug into rocks
overlooking the sea will reveal panoramas of extraordinary beauty; an experience
which will totally compensate for the fatigue of a long hike. If you’re in good
shape, you should do it at least once (a favorite spot to go for a swim in
Amalfi!). But look out!! There are about three to four hundred steps to be
climbed, and one has to be fit to do so!!
Moreover, during spring-summer, those two beaches, reached either by sea or the
staircases, offer convenient and economical boat services which take or pick up
tourists to/from their shores. From eight o’clock in the morning until evening,
there is a boat every thirty minutes. It is a pleasant ten-minute ride along the
coast, taking you from the port of Amalfi to the beaches, and vice-versa. From
the port of Amalfi, you can take the bus and return to Villa Brenda in only five
minutes.
During spring-summer time, bars and restaurants are open at the beaches, and you
may even have dinner and order a fresh-fish dish by the sea at night while
spotlights illuminate the rocks.
Worth mentioning is the fact that you can also go for a swim in the large beach
next to the port in Amalfi.
