Holiday Home Description

Villa Allegra is a splendid 440-square-meter (4,736 square feet) villa on a high cliff overlooking the sea. It has a private swimming pool, direct access to the beach and the sea, terraces, and a garden. The house, which is located between Sorrento and Positano, looks out on the charming bay of Marina del Cantone, and the panorama is gorgeous.

Villa Allegra sleeps 14 people. There are 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. In addition, there are two spacious living-rooms and a big kitchen. The villa is a three-storey house equipped with an elevator. Besides facilities as air-conditioning, heating, and parking, a 6-hour cleaning service is also available to you for six days a week.

The villa is built on high stretch of land by the coast where only vacation houses are found. All houses seem as if partially "hidden" by gardens and olive groves. A road used by residents only gives access to the houses in the area.

You will enter Villa Allegra through a paved garden. From the garden, you will reach a big terrace where the sun, the sky, and the sea warmly greet you. Lean over the terrace and you will see a steep rocky cliff and a limpid sea down below. Frothy waves sweetly bathe the rocks and slowly reach a small gravel beach. The perfume of the sea fills the air.

The terrace overlooks a horizon of endless sea and also the green promontory north of the bay. A centuries-old cluster/maritime pine is rooted on the rock below and partially casts a shadow over the terrace. Its green crown is silhouetted against the sky and the sea, rendering the panorama even more enthralling.

There is a great 8 x 4-meter (26 x 13 feet) and 3,5-meter (about 11.5 feet) deep seawater swimming pool on the terrace. The swimming pool is also adjustable with a whirl system and current machine. At Villa Allegra, you will be able to join the usual in-water workout and the benefits of the sea water. A quite pleasant and unique experience!

Around the swimming pool, you will also find sun loungers to sunbathe, and cool and refreshing shaded angles where you can sit and rest and which are furnished with couches, tables, benches, and swing chairs.

The swimming pool and the terrace are beautifully lit at night. You will enjoy having candle-light dinners outside while feeling the breeze from the sea and feasting your eyes on the moonlight over the waves…

At Villa Allegra, you can easily reach the beach and the sea through a private staircase dug in the rock. A pergola shades the staircase. Along the path towards the beach, few steps away from the sea, you will find a terrace furnished with sun loungers and umbrellas where you can relax and also use an outdoor shower. The total distance from the villa to the sea consists of 130 steps.

There is a small beach recreational facility at the beach which offers several services, such as a bar, a small restaurant, and rental of umbrellas and boats with or without a pilot/steersman. If taking a boat from this beach, you can reach Capri in 15 minutes, Sorrento in 30 minutes, and Positano in 40 minutes. It is a wonderful chance to visit the coast and discover places of incomparable beauty!

At Villa Allegra, you will stay in a house with spacious rooms elegantly furnished in vivid Mediterranean style. The floor is in lustrous ceramics of local craft. Every bedroom and bathroom displays different decoration. Every bedroom is equipped with a TV and a system which regulates the temperature of the air-conditioner. All rooms are distributed on the three floors of the house, which also has an elevator.

The main entrance is in a large great hall elegantly furnished in white and blue: a wall consisting of a big glass window overlooks the terrace with the swimming pool and the beautiful panorama of the sea. Two large patio doors give access to the terrace and the swimming pool. Next to the glass window is a living area furnished with a long blue sofa and an another part with a table and chairs, perfect for a round of card-playing. Still in the same room, but in another area, there is a bar and a study corner with computer and internet connection.

A small corridor leads you from the living room to the two double bedrooms on this floor of the house. One is a suite with a whirl bathtub in the bathroom, and the other has its own private bathroom with shower.

You can reach the upper and lower floor of the villa through the staircase or elevator found in the great hall of the house.

There are three double bedrooms in the upper floor. The largest double bedroom of the house is found on this floor, and it displays a large patio door which leads to a private terrace with a wonderful view of the sea. Lying in bed and looking out you will see the sea and the sky. There is also a round whirl bathtub for two people in this room. The other two double bedrooms on this floor have a bathroom as well: one bedroom has an en-suite bathroom equipped with a whirl bathtub, and the other has its private bathroom with a shower.

On the lower floor of the villa, there is a second large living room with a fireplace, a kitchen and the other two double bedrooms.

The large living room on this floor offers you a breathtaking view of the sea as well. A large window takes over a wall almost entirely. From here, your eyes will meet the blue of the sea nearby and the sky. A large and inviting blue couch is placed in front of the fireplace and of the area displaying a TV. There is also an extendable dining table overlooking the sea. In one area of the room, which is dedicated to music, there is a grand piano. A patio door leads you from the living room to a gracious terrace looking out on the sea and furnished with tables and chairs suitable for an outdoor breakfast.

A corridor takes you from the living room to the two double bedrooms. One has an en-suite bathroom with shower, and the other has its own private bathroom with shower as well.

On the lower floor, there is an ample kitchen equipped with a 5-burner stove, an oven, a large fridge with freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a dryer, and other small appliances.

Linen is changed twice a week. Laundry service and chef are available upon request.

Villa Allegra is 800 meters (about 2,625 feet) away from the maritime village called Marina del Cantone, where you will find shops and famous restaurants. The bus stop of the Marina del Cantone - Sorrento line is about 500 meters (1,640 feet) away from the villa.

Sorrento is about 16 km (approximately 10 miles) away, Positano is about 20 km (12.4 miles) away, and Naples is about 60 km (37 miles) away.

From Sorrento or Positano, you can take ferries or hydrofoils to Capri, other islands of the Gulf of Naples, Naples, Amalfi, Positano, and other small towns on the Amalfi Coast.

You will be in a convenient position between the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Coast. You can even enjoy easy and pleasant trips to places in the area by car! Just remember to drive slowly and to enjoy the show: every curve on the road unveils a breathtaking scenery which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in the world.

You can also visit the ruins of Pompeii, which are about 1 hour away by car (another option is taking a train from Sorrento). Besides Pompeii, there is also Caserta and its splendid Reggia (Royal Palace) or the temples in Paestum: both places are easily reached from Villa Allegra.

For those who are fond of scuba diving, there is a center in Marina del Cantone which offers all the necessary equipment for such sport practice. Nearby there is a marine protected area where you can dive and visit spectacular underwater caves. If you are lucky, you may swim across amphoras and ruins of Roman and Greek ships.

For trekking enthusiasts, the area is rich in trails which unravel on mountains overlooking the sea. It is a scenery of rocky cliffs, sky, and water.

Villa Allegra has 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, two living rooms and a large kitchen. Four bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms, while the remaining three have private bathrooms. The bedrooms are equipped with air conditioner and television.

The villa has three floors and one elevator. On every floor there is a terrace with a beautiful view of the sea and furnished with garden furniture. The main floor has an area overlooking the sea furnished with a table, a living room, a bar, and a study corner with computer and internet. The lower floor has another area overlooking the sea which displays a fireplace, a living room, a piano, and a dining table.

From the villa, you can reach a gravel beach only about 20 meters (approximately 66 feet) away from the house.

The kitchen is equipped with a 5-burner stove, a big fridge, a dishwasher, and other small appliances. There is also a laundry room with a dryer.

The rental comprises a 6-hour cleaning service for 6 days a week and linen change twice a week.

The rental price includes: final cleaning; electricity; maid service from Monday to Saturday 6 hours each day; linens, changed mid-week; towels, changed mid-week.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Villa Allegra the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 1000, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
